I been coming here for years. Great Mexican comfort food just like my mom's. They have many Mexican stews to pick from. parking could be challenging, but you manage. Everything is delicious came check it out.

A clean, bright little cafe with a wide variety of traditional Mexican offerings. We ended up there for breakfast and our group ordered chilaquiles, pozole, and tacos, all of which were FANTASTIC! The service was efficient and friendly, had a great experience start to finish.

Always pass by this hidden gem and finally got to try the food. I got a chicken guisado plate. I'm not sure what the sauce was that covered the chicken, but it was very flavorful and the chicken was tender. It comes with rice and beans and fresh corn tortillas. Simple plate with a lot of flavor. I will definitely be back!

10 out of 10 for the 15+ years I've been coming over to Super Cocina. It's the most authentic, homemade food that might be too "mexican" for people who are mainly used to tacos, burritos and texmex food with the typical yellow cheese and sour cream. Super Cocina is for the people by the people. I truly recommend it for anyone who wants to experience real mexican food.

Super bummed the first time we went was great but we went sunday and our chilaquiles were super hard chips , we wanted to say something but there was a line of people and we were starving. We decided to call today and tell them but they didnt care. We were hoping they would give us two fresh orders for another time but they said no. I offered to prove the transaction also, as we payed with a card. We wont go back here again.

Without a doubt, one of the best home-cooked Mexican restaurants you'll find in SD. Don't miss it.

I grabbed a quick lunch here on Labor day. I got the pozole with a corn pudding cake. Parking is a little limited but I got a spot within a block. The pozole is okay. The corn pudding cake is amazing. Cold bites of corn pudding cake were perfect after eating a warm lunch on a warm day. Not too sweet.

Craving chilaquiles this morning and found this place was less than a mile away. It is definitely a neighborhood spot. Luckily they have a small parking lot on the side otherwise it would be street parking and walking. Very spacious inside and clean. Lots of seating and not too crowded for a Sunday morning. They have coffee in a pot ready to serve up, which I liked. It's buffet style with lots of meats, appetizers, beans and rice. We got our plates to-go but the empanadas looked good so I got one with cheese one with meat. Not as crispy as they looked. As for when we got home, the chilaquiles were good, not great. Kind of soggy by the time we got home but the eggs were fresh. Much cheaper than elsewhere and not too long to wait. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and support a local business. I think we'll be back for dinner.

I have driven by many times, and have read great things, but I haven't had the chance to stop by until recently. I was actually going to Canada, but it was really crowded, so why not try something new. Parking is street or if you're there after 6, there are some spaces behind the market. Friendly greeting when I walked in, I didn't know what to order. Looked over the menu boards and I remembered reading they had mole. So I asked and ordered the plate to go with rice and beans. I also ordered a chicken burrito for a friend. The chicken was really tender and the sauce was delicious. The chicken burrito was very good too. It too was filled with rice and beans and huge! Definitely worth checking out. They have a small patio outside. I look forward to exploring some of the other dishes!

Is beer served? If not, can we bring some in for our group of 6?

Yes they sell beer there. They have Modelo, Pacifico, and maybe 1-2 other brand

Does anyone know if their beans and rice contain meat products (stock, both, lard, etc)?

Our beans are vegan. We use vegetable oil. Our rice is made with chicken broth. We do have many vegan options, ask our staff and they will be happy to help you

She probably was the reason why we actually left the nice tip. 3. Ambiance was a "cool young hip" vibe. Music was great and eclectic. Work On- 1. Our hostess. We made reservation at 6PM. We got there and she told us to wait while our table is being set up. They ended up taking us to the upstairs room. They had to split the 2 tables to have a seat for us. They wanted us to sit at the table that is in close proximity of the walkway. I said I did not want to sit there because I did not want to have people walk by me the entire time. They had to push the table away from the second one and we had to be closer to the entrance. I said will sit at the second table since it's not near the entrance. I had to repeat this 3 times. She finally said ok, well, I will have to take you downstairs. I said ok. They finally sat us at a table with 2 chairs and out of the way. So, here is the thing.....why was I waiting, if my table was not being set up, to where you had to split 2 tables, and put me closest to the entry way of the door? 2. The lighting is very dark. It was hard to see the food to maneuver and eat. I get this is the ambiance. So...maybe brighter lamps at the table?

It's always a great place to stop before or after going to the airport because it's that close. We originally went there for an early dinner, but happened to meet the happy hour time frame (3:30-5:30). They have a wonderful array of drinks and appetizers to choose from. The most expensive being $11.00. Each appetizer is enough for two people. A man at the bar asked me if I wanted some of his guacamole dip because he could finish it all. He looked like that was his dinner meal too. I declined, since I was favoring the ceviche and chicken tinga tostadas. Both tasted delicious. I heard the bacon wrapped jalapeño were good but not gf. So I didn't try them. The views from our table were spectacular. They had many GF options listed on their menu. Our waiter, Jared, (so helpful and attentive), told me which items are more gluten sensitive and which ones were gluten free. The drinks were tasty and refreshing too. Definitely a place I'll be going back to with family and friends

An Unforgettable Birthday Celebration!…read more I took my husband here for his birthday this past Monday, and the entire experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish. First, the location and the views are simply stunning. It set the perfect backdrop for a celebratory evening. But what really elevated the vibe was the music! The playlist was so on point that I literally found myself dancing in my seat to every single song. It created such a fun, lively energy. I also have to give a massive shoutout to our waiter, who was incredibly attentive, warm, and anticipated our every need. The entire staff went above and beyond to make my husband feel so wonderfully celebrated. From a sweet little "Happy Birthday" sign to a surprise dessert at the end of the meal, every detail was thoughtful and perfectly executed. This place is truly incredible. We will absolutely be back!

We left right away to pick up the food and sure enough it was ready waiting for our arrival. One quick drive back home to dig in and the aroma was so enticing. California Burritos is very apt for their name, my bf rates it a 10/10. As a California Burrito connoisseur, he liked the addition of sour cream in it and said the flavors were delicious. He topped it with their green salsa for a little bit of a freshness to cut through the richness and fattiness of the meat and fries in the burrito. He didn't care for the fish taco that much and rated it a 4/10 but said the restaurant overall was a 10/10, as he thought there was too much lettuce and tomato throwing off the ratio of the taco. I, on the other hand, am a huge fan of veggies and liked the ample amount they provided. ---- There's a couple benches outside in front of the shop and seating at booth tables inside as well.
