I've been here a few times now and it seems to be a hit or miss for me so far. One time I had a vegetarian burrito they offer and it wasn't too special; somewhat bland and I felt as if it was missing something. The last time I went I got their Guacamole Breakfast Burrito (vegetarian as well) and added potatoes to it for 50 cents more it came out to $7 something after tax. This time I really enjoyed it and it didn't feel as if it was missing anything. I'm going to have to go a couple more times to really see if I enjoy it and make a deciding factor (so look for an update on this one). The atmosphere is somewhat of a typical IV spot, not too fancy and not too busy for the most part. I didn't have any issue of getting charged twice but maybe cause I went during the day each time I've gone. Price-wise its almost like every other place in IV (expensive) but if you want a change from freebirds and haven't tried this place out I'd totally recommend it to try. The quality of the burrito was pretty good, not at all sloppily made and held together really well and it was really what I needed after 12 hours of cramming. I feel as though Freebirds is extremely over hyped and that this place deserves more credit, the breakfast burrito wasn't as big as freebirds but it was significantly cheaper. Burritos are the size of a newborn baby. You won't ever finish all of it, which is good because there will be some good leftovers. Not only that, always go inside the restaurant to order instead of DoorDash or Grubhub because they up charge a LOT. After taking two midterms, I decided to splurge and buy myself a California Burrito from this joint. All I can say is, it was simply the best thing I've eaten in Santa Barbara so far. This city is so lackluster when it comes to food. I gave it only 4 stars because I paid $8 and that's ridiculous, but in tune with the pricing with the rest of IV. I love super cuca's because the burritos are huge and there is such a great variety of options and the staff is always so friendly! They make the burritos so quickly that I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Which is awesome! They definitely have less of a wait and more options than Freebirds. My favorite thing to get is the shrimp burrito with guacamole, but I also really like the chorizo breakfast burrito. I only discovered how delicious super cuca's was this year, and I wish I had gone earlier in college. One thing that would be awesome is if they had more pico de gallo! I give this 4 stars for delivery. I just ordered from Super Cucas for the first time because I had a crazy taco craving but I just got back from class and really didn't want to go out. The delivery guy was really nice, they got to my place REALLY quickly - like within 15 minutes - and the food was warm and plentiful. One of the most underrated jewels of IV! Super Cucas lives in the shadow of another popular Mexican restaurant in IV: Freebirds. That's why it rarely gets crowded, which is great coming from a customer's perspective. My boyfriend and I would go here to satisfy our late night cravings. We went here often because they're open way late, and it was a short walk from his apartment. But I must say that the breakfast burritos here are some of the best that I've ever had in my entire life. The tortillas are so warm, flaky and soft. The contents of the burritos were so delectable and packed with flavor. Before hearing of this place, I remember my brother telling me about a legendary Mexican restaurant that changed the breakfast burrito game forever. Glad I was able to experience it. Ate here on a Thursday evening. I ordered a super combo plate, rice, beans, lettuce and comes with meat of your choice. I got carnitas. And it was quite disgusting. They must've have not been busy and have been leaving their meat out! Some of my carnitas was dried, and it wasn't crispy, I meant DRY DRY DRY! They must have left it open and not covered, because my meat was so dry. Over half of my meal was ruined because they have me old meat that was left out. Doesn't get the attention it needs! Super Cuca's is in a rather unseen part of IV and tends to be overlooked in favor of Freebirds. Not only is it cheaper, but this restaurant offers a large menu that makes Freebirds' pale in comparison. Start with the wide selection of breakfast burritos. I'm not even a fan of breakfast burritos, however I find the majority of them scrumptious. Better yet, they are available all day long, not just during business hours. Nachos, burritos, tostadas, tacos and plates are just some of the wider variety of meals offered. Now they recently added freshly squeezed juices to their menu, with blends of fruits and veggies. These were ok, and I definitely have to try more to get a better consensus. You get a lot of food for what you pay for, which is good for a college town. Occasionally the meat can be a bit dry, but I think they have improved upon this recently. The last pork burrito I had was very moist. I definitely recommend their California Burrito for when you are craving something filling. The french fries make for a good filler, but overall the flavor is great, and among my favorites. read more

Delicious, affordable, great service. I catered for 160 people from here and it was absolutely amazing. The manager was incredibly helpful and kind. It worked out to be a little under $7 per person for the works. Taco station with all meats, veggies, salsas, sour cream, cheese, cilantro, onions, and even guacamole! It also included rice, beans, and tortilla chips. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Call and ask about catering instead of doing it through iVmenus. F*ck Freebirds. Once they opened this in Isla Vista, I NEVER wentt backto Freebirds. Growing up in San Diego, I'll leave Freebirds for the amatuers. Now, I'm NOT saying that Super Cuca's is anything near San Diego Mexi food... but it's open 24hrs on the weekends and is the closest thing to eat from Del Playa. They have a much more extensive menu than Freebirds and the other places. The food isn't made like an assembly line with the meat just sitting in bins. Their zanahorias (spicy carrots) are legit. All you So Cal locals can thank my friends and I for having them add the California burrito to the menu. We would bug them everyday to ask if they have french fries because us San Diegans HATE rice and beans in our burritos. At first they tried it out as a special... then they told me they were selling like 50 a day! Of course they use the wrong fries (need the thin and crispy!) but beggars can't be choosy. PS.
