This restaurant is close to my school so I've given it many chances and don't plan on coming here ever again. The cashier is incredibly rude and they have continually messed up my order time and time again. I don't eat meat, they have on 2 occasions put first shrimp then chicken on my enchiladas after I've specifically requested they be vegetarian and the last time I ate here there were 2 public hairs in my food. Living on DP, this was the closest food. Yum! Cheaper than Freebirds, and the line usually isn't as long. The taco that costs less than $3 fills me up. Bathrooms are gross, I'd recommend you just hold it in till you get home. If home is far away, ask a random person if they live nearby; this tactic often lead to fun adventures. read more

Just keeping it simple, I've had sooo much better Carne Asada. In fact I can literally WALK to Tacos La Costa in Oxnard and get great asada. On top of that, a three minute drive will get me great asada. I read a review on another Mexican Food place (might've been one of the over 100 on the Freebird's reviews) that they hate when a place cooks the meat un-seasoned, covers it with salsa and calls it Asada. Unfortunately that's exactly how I feel about this place. Last time we went I got the "Meat and Fries" --Carne Asada fries is what I'd rather call them. *shrug. It was good but if the meat was better it wouldve been soooo gooooood. See the difference? I got a HUGE CHUNK of veery under ripe Avocado in the guacamole. Come on. How are you going to scoop out guacamole and not even notice this gigantic chunk and not bother to remove it? If it were ripe I'd love it but it was like biting into a watermelon rind. I give it an extra star for - Being open late - The good Salsa (that saved my food) - They serve beer - Food's out Fast Other than that, it's in essence a 2-Star review. Yuck. I just had one of their so called popular California Burritos! BY far, one of the worst burritos Ive ever had. The meat was not properly cooked! The over powering of the sour cream made the burrito cold. It wasnt even properly wrapped! All of the contents of the burrito were falling out while I was eating it. I didn't speak to the guy over the phone with a harsh voice or anything and he was very rude just said "I don't know man" in an annoyed tone. An extremely large container of fries topped high with beans, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo, and a heaping portion of your favorite meat, this beast can slate even the most ravenous hunger. Though this may not be a good choice for the health conscious, it is an excellent post-party/smoke-out choice. The service here is also extraordinary, and if you go in on a slow day, they will often give you free chips if you ask politely. I went to Super Cucas in Isla Vista, CA on Wednesday night around 6:30 pm to pick up a phone order of super nachos that I spoke to the phone clerk on the phone for. Upon my arrival for my nachos. I needed to use the restroom. I proceeded to unlock the restroom with the key chained to a cup on the table next to the restroom across from the restaurant's kitchen door. I did not know how the procedure went about with the key to the restroom door. Therefore, after unlocking the restroom, I left the key where I thought it was supposed to be left outside of the restroom on the table where I found the key. There was no indication of how the restroom worked, and therefore I then proceeded to use the restroom marked for Women. I was using the facilities and then the door opened and the cook of the restaurant walked into the restroom and would not leave. He lingered there and watched me as I screamed at him to leave. He smiled then walked away after about 10-15 seconds of knowing I was in the restroom. I am horrified and humiliated that someone would linger during my private and personal time. I then came out of the restroom to find the cook, that did not speak English, talking and laughing it up with the head manager Alfredo, or Fernando is his name. I asked why the cook did that and stood and watched me during my private time. The manager Alfredo then proceeded to start telling me that the cook didn't know the restroom was occupied because the key was outside. The door was locked from my understanding, and I told the manager that. Alfredo then proceeded to laugh at me and ridicule the incident as my fault that this happened because of the key being left outside. I asked the cook and the manger for an apology. After the manger spoke in Spanish to the cook, the cook turned around and threw up his hand and said I'm sorry. I asked the manger why men are using the women's restroom in any circumstance when there is a male marked restroom. Alfredo then started aggressively speaking with about how the cook did not know. Alfredo then proceeded to pound his fist against the stock room door frame and cussed me out with the words, " It's your fault, your not listening to me, fuck you and you can get the fuck out of here, get the fuck out of here, get the fuck out of here get out. Get the fuck out of here or I will call the police, you aren't even a customer here". I told him that it was in poor taste to speak to a women that way. Then I told him that I was a phone call customer. He had no idea that I was the caller/ customer for the super nachos. Go figure. Second, I told Alfredo I would call the police my self because I felt harassed by their employee in the restaurant. As I am calling the police Alfredo is yelling across the restaurant my name saying here are the nachos you ordered. I then walked outside of the restaurant called the dispatcher and she then proceeded to have an attitude with me and asked me a series of questions that would have been the officers questions when he arrived. The dispatcher hung up on me. The officer arrived, asked the manager where the cook was, and the manger said that it was the end of his shift as to why he was using the restroom and leaving. The cook left the premises before the police arrived, which then again is in poor taste as a business establishment in a small college town with other cultures with women in them that do not fare well to men walking into women's restrooms without even a knock. The officer said that Alfredo didn't mention anything about cussing me out and treating me with disrespect over an action that was committed on the restaurants behalf. The Officer had to attend to a different emergency in Isla Vista and then said he would return to gather more information. The officer didn't believe at first that the situation granted a police report because there are not any laws precipitating men using women's restrooms. I told him I felt harassed and unsafe in my own private time. Write the report officer. read more
