The line always moves fast and the food comes out quickly too. What compelled me to write this review was because I had a delicious pescado a la diabla, which was a daily special. The fish was a huge portion -- a whole filet with a delicious spicy sauce, perfectly cooked and flaky. The rice and beans are always great, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I also had a passionfruit margarita which was big and well balanced. The salsa bar is very good; the habanero salsa is really tasty but their old version without cream was one of the best salsa I ever had and I'm so sad they don't offer it anymore. It was legitimately spicy. I always love coming here with my friends after a movie so we can discuss the flick over some great mexican food.

My friend and I swapped a taco from each of our plates, so I was able to try their tacos al pastor and tacos del mar with halibut. The al pastor was particularly flavorful and well marinated, and to my surprise, I enjoyed the pineapple bits in the taco. The halibut tasted fresh and the chipotle sauce on top paired nicely. I also love a good side of rice and beans and I can't even put my finger on it, but it was just so tasty. It got pretty busy during the dinner rush and I was seated right along the order line, but nothing too disruptive to our dining experience. Overall, the food was solid, the staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the vibes were upscale-casual and lively.

I got a couple of pieces of inedible fat in my birria unfortunately but the flavor was really good. I wouldn't get this again as it was way too filling for me and instead would opt out for the taco or quesabirria next time. Service was friendly and quick. I really enjoyed the vibe in there and understand why it's a recommended spot.

This place is the worst I've ever been. Yelp should allow for the minus star system for such a bad place!!! The platter we ordered did not even look like the picture they had on their wall. We waited a long time to get our food, too! 6 people behind us got their food before us, which is just very obvious. Why should I tip when I have to stand there with my son to get our food? Had they brought it to us at our table, I would gladly tip according to their service. If the service was good, I would tip. The food was horrible. We got it close to being cold. The pinto beans looked different than any Mexican place I've ever had. Also, the rice wasn't even Spanish rice as shown in their photo (big photo posted) on the wall. What a big ripped-off The food didn't have much taste, and it was the worst food, and the people there had bad attitudes, except for the lady at the cash register. My boy will never eat here again, and I will never eat here again when I visit my boy, who is attending UCSB. Had I tipped them, I for sure will regret for standing there waiting for the worst Mexican food I've had in my life. Had I tipped (what for?? for getting my food on time instead of waiting a long time and the 6 people behind me in line at theirs way before me) The lady behind me got it earlier than those other 5 young college students who were behind her, so if we didn't ask why we didn't get our food, then we still would be waiting. I loved eating here. Tortas there are so bomb. But ive had such bad luck with cleanliness, it makes me wonder how they make the food. Its been three times already where ive gone to eat and find stuff in my food that does not belong there. Gross.. i have found a piece of a glove inside my burrito which makes me wonder if they even check their food station while they are making the food. I have found a small piece of a finger nail in my nachos, which definitely just made me stop eating there for years. And i last i recently decided to give them another try after so long but luck was not on my side. I ordered my favorite item there, a asada torta, which i instantly regretted. As i was eating it, I found a hair and that was the last straw. Never eating there again in my life. If I can give it negative start. I would definitely give it negative 5 starts. I always stop by this place for a big order of Super Nachos! It's a lot of food, so I usually share with someone else. For about 8 bucks you'll get a huge box of nachos loaded with beans, guacamole, sour cream, and deliciously marinated chicken. The location is ideal- right where Bill's Bus drops off. I have only ever tried their quesadillas because once I had one it is all I ever want when I step inside Super Cuca's. The tortilla is surprisingly light and they put the perfect amount of buttery cheese- not too little but not so much you feel sick afterwards. Ambiance It is a casual place for sure. No indoor seating and a full counter service where you bus your own table at the end. The bathroom is on the back side so you need to get the key from the counter. There is a pretty good sized parking lot, which is always a nice thing in Santa Barbara.

Another highlight that cannot be overlooked.... One of the best selections of Agua frescas in town. You're basically looking at 3 different options that are all delicious. I really can't pick a favorite, I'm just saying you gotta try one. The only thing that can be tricky is the parking. Be patient and try not to cross Milpas unless you're using a lighted crosswalk. Los Arroyos is my favorite Mexican restaurant on the planet, and I've had a LOT of Mexican food!…read morewhoever has given this restaurant less than five stars...that's an anomaly! I've been coming here with my children for the last decade, but I moved out of California, so I haven't been back since 2020. It was such a treat to return to a place I know so well and just gets even more amazing with time. My server, Lisette, was lovely and gave me the best recommendation. I got the trio of shrimp taco special ~los Tacos Zarendeados~and it was incredible. It was so generous that I couldn't eat it all. Of course, I'm very familiar with their chips and salsa, and they are still as good as I remember. The chips are light, and each salsa is so decadent and flavorful. Los Arroyos serves authentic Mexican food with a thoughtful and creative menu, and I absolutely love the location on Coast Village Road in Montecito. It's such a scenic, beautiful area, and the setting makes the whole experience even better. Thank you so much, Los Arroyos. It was wonderful to be back! Support local:)

Seriously, I have no idea why the rating isn't better for this place. I've been coming here for…read moreyears and have tried all sorts of dishes, and it's always amazing. The Juanito's protein burrito is particularly my favorite. Even just their water doesn't taste like regular old tap water! Service is always so friendly and efficient; never once have I encountered rudeness from any staff. And yeah, prices are...Santa Barbara/Montecito prices, so what do all you cranky reviewers expect? You definitely still get great quality for the price.
