You can't go wrong with their breakfast burritos. Those are bomb! And every Wednesday, their breakfast burritos are only $5! Different days have different specials, but that's the only one I think is worth mentioning. Their carne asada fries used to be amazing, but the fries aren't made the same as they used to, so I haven't got it in a year or so. This is my go to. Always packed, always fast, and of course always good. One cannot go wrong with the taco combo but be sure to get it with corn tortillas, and add lettuce. I went to Super Cucas in Isla Vista, CA on Wednesday night around 6:30 pm to pick up a phone order of super nachos that I spoke to the phone clerk on the phone for. Upon my arrival for my nachos. I needed to use the restroom. I proceeded to unlock the restroom with the key chained to a cup on the table next to the restroom across from the restaurant's kitchen door. I did not know how the procedure went about with the key to the restroom door. Therefore, after unlocking the restroom, I left the key where I thought it was supposed to be left outside of the restroom on the table where I found the key. There was no indication of how the restroom worked, and therefore I then proceeded to use the restroom marked for Women. I was using the facilities and then the door opened and the cook of the restaurant walked into the restroom and would not leave. He lingered there and watched me as I screamed at him to leave. He smiled then walked away after about 10-15 seconds of knowing I was in the restroom. I am horrified and humiliated that someone would linger during my private and personal time. I then came out of the restroom to find the cook, that did not speak English, talking and laughing it up with the head manager Alfredo, or Fernando is his name. I asked why the cook did that and stood and watched me during my private time. The manager Alfredo then proceeded to start telling me that the cook didn't know the restroom was occupied because the key was outside. The door was locked from my understanding, and I told the manager that. Alfredo then proceeded to laugh at me and ridicule the incident as my fault that this happened because of the key being left outside. I asked the cook and the manger for an apology. After the manger spoke in Spanish to the cook, the cook turned around and threw up his hand and said I'm sorry. I asked the manger why men are using the women's restroom in any circumstance when there is a male marked restroom. Alfredo then started aggressively speaking with about how the cook did not know. Alfredo then proceeded to pound his fist against the stock room door frame and cussed me out with the words, " It's your fault, your not listening to me, fuck you and you can get the fuck out of here, get the fuck out of here, get the fuck out of here get out. Get the fuck out of here or I will call the police, you aren't even a customer here". I told him that it was in poor taste to speak to a women that way. Then I told him that I was a phone call customer. He had no idea that I was the caller/ customer for the super nachos. Go figure. Second, I told Alfredo I would call the police my self because I felt harassed by their employee in the restaurant. As I am calling the police Alfredo is yelling across the restaurant my name saying here are the nachos you ordered. I then walked outside of the restaurant called the dispatcher and she then proceeded to have an attitude with me and asked me a series of questions that would have been the officers questions when he arrived. The dispatcher hung up on me. The officer arrived, asked the manager where the cook was, and the manger said that it was the end of his shift as to why he was using the restroom and leaving. The cook left the premises before the police arrived, which then again is in poor taste as a business establishment in a small college town with other cultures with women in them that do not fare well to men walking into women's restrooms without even a knock. The officer said that Alfredo didn't mention anything about cussing me out and treating me with disrespect over an action that was committed on the restaurants behalf. The Officer had to attend to a different emergency in Isla Vista and then said he would return to gather more information. The officer didn't believe at first that the situation granted a police report because there are not any laws precipitating men using women's restrooms. I told him I felt harassed and unsafe in my own private time. Write the report officer. read more

Burrito was good, very close to the mission style I grew up eating in the I bay area. A little pricey, however. I'd come here again I was in the area and fiending for a burrito. Super Cuca's food is great, but the value just isn't there for me to return often or give five stars. Been here a handful of times, and always enjoyed my food. Gotten carne asada fries multiple times which are amazing, but expensive (~$10). Also had a breakfast burrito which was also good. My only poor experience was a torta I got from here which was terrible! It was dry and falling apart, and just tasted so bland. Never again! It's always the basic, no-frills places that serve up the best Mexican food. Probably because they focus more on the food than the decor. And it shows here. I had the shrimp enchilada, or something similar. MMM. I loved how it wasn't too "fishy" or "cheesy", etc. However, I did find it just a bit soggy from the sauce (if that's what it is) that was on it. No biggie, though. Don't let it keep you from ordering it, maybe mine was just a little off. Beans and rice were also muy delicioso! Seriously, some Mexican restaurants serve beans and rice that are either too bland or taste like they came from a Rosarita can. Not so here, you can taste the authenticity in both. California Burrito, Breakfast Burrito, and Carne Asada fries FTW!!

I got the two hard shell tacos plate with carnitas. My boyfriend got the super torta with carne asada. 2-3 stars for the tacos...the meat was dry and there was little of it but over all the plate tasted okay. The salsa bar was disappointing because the salsas weren't labelled properly and none were very spicy at all. The torta, on the other hand, had really good flavor. The only bad thing about the torta was that it should have been cut on angle so that the meat didn't fall out. 4 stars for the torta! read more

So one day I tell myself "I want food, good food that would hit the spot of course" and I stumbled upon this place. It was completely empty when I walked in and it raised my suspicions about the restuarant, but I ordered anyway. I ordered the super nachos with carne asada (yummy!). The cashier was very approachable and nice. In seconds my food was ready and I gleefully accepted the huge portion of super nachos. They gave me a huge serving of nachos and they were not stingy with their meat or their guacamole! The food was fantastic. I was happy to eat all of it up "nomnomnom". Come try it some time! This place is probably the finest establishment in all of Isla Vista. "Orgasmic" isn't good enough when describing the combination of an extensive salsa bar plus an amazing breakfast burrito assortment. If I was rich, I would weigh 3498349843 pounds simply because of this place. My roommate and I go here once every couple weeks, and stock up our fridge with some breakfast burritos. I am not a huge fan of their other burritos, but hey I am very picky about those anyway, I'm sure they are quite enjoyable. I would give this place a 5, but I have to admit sometimes the plates are better than others. I guess it depends on who is cooking but every once in a while the food is a miss, though I have to say it's usually not. $10 for a burrito? $7 dollars for meatless nachos? Super Cuca's is nothing special. Slightly better than Rosarito's but not as good as Freebirds. The quality of the food is NOT BAD. But for the price it is hard to justify, with so many more affordable options available in I.V. If you MUST have Mexican food, then by all means drop $20 on a bean and cheese burrito. You'll hate yourself an hour later of course. one time we had foil wrapping pieces stuck inside our burrito, and another time they skimped out on the chicken we ordered for the nachos. Owner and staff are so chill and nice, and they remember my favorite 2 orders :b the veggie tacos are so good and only like $4 for 2. the fresh veggies, guac, and pico de gallo is legit shit. solid beans and rice. In terms of cleanliness & accuracy with orders - A+ The staff that you'll order from and receive your food from are super friendly and helpful if you need anything. And they're super quick! Once or twice I've been there when there's a lot of customers , the wait will be slightly longer but I feel like it was still super quick given the amount of orders. I've always enjoyed the quality of food there. The portions are normal sized, like a normal healthy serving, not supersized, but the prices are affordable so you can probably even get more than one thing if you want for a reasonable price... I'm vegetarian and there's good stuff there for vegetarians, and the fact that the veggies, tortillas, salsa, guac, etc is legit makes all the dishes good blah blah. The grilled vegetables in their burritos are always plentiful, fresh and steaming hot. I have ordered delivery several times but after the last two delivery orders I will never order from them again. I ordered a beef super burrito and the handwritten description said "super beef" so I took a bite and it was shrimp! I can't eat shrimp it makes me ill. I called and they were rude and would not replace the order and asked me to bring it in and prove it. I ordered delivery because I was sick and not leaving the house.
