This was my 2nd visit and will also be my last. My son and I walked in the door at approximately 6PM and were rudely told by an elderly man at the counter; that they were closed. Hours clearly state that they close at 7PM. The place was obviously still open, as there were people seated and eating at the table. Anyhow, My son and I just walked out and drove across the street to Me' Mo's Middle Eastern Cuisine. It turns out he did us a favor because the food at Me' Mo's was much better! Checked out the 4.5 star Gyro Restaurant in Modesto. This better be good! The place isn't fancy by a long shot, it's your typical hole in the wall. If you want Coke or Pepsi, bring your own. They have RC Cola. Yea, kinda sucks. The prices are very affordable and they have Baklava and Dolma! We ordered the Gyro sandwich and plate dishes. It's OK. Meaning: I've had worst and I've had better. The Pita and Meats were Not Fresh and provided ample time for my Jaws to Chew them. But at other times the bite was satisfying. The sauces seemed out of the box and plain. There's better places in Modesto to have Gyro. Try somewhere else before coming here. read more

When I entered my first thought was that it was super clean, the service was very conversational and took time to chat about details between the combo and was very professional as I questioned the value of the sandwich combo that is a super reasonable $8.00, Sandwich alone is $4.99, and the fries and sandwich comes to $7.50. I feel like the fries, although plenty, are a touch expensive at $2.50, but the sandwich itself is a bargain at $5. I have a couple of small issues. The pita I feel is a bit too small. This makes what should be a delicious filling sandwich fall apart. Requiring a fork to finish. That said the pita was warm and tasted good. The salad in the sandwich was ok, but the onions didn't taste very fresh. I would beef up the pita, charge a dollar more for the sandwich, and a dollar less for the fries. I will definitely be back. My family and I used to go here quite often when I was younger with my neighbor and I thought I remembered the food being good at the time. My sister and I went recently after many, many years and were quite disappointed. Majority of the reviews say how kind the staff is and I completely agree! They're great but the food isn't. I eat A LOT of middle eastern food. We eat it in the Bay Area and Sacramento all the time. This wasn't even close to as good as other places we've ate at. I ordered the falafel plate and was very disappointed. The cook asked us if I wanted it spicy and I said yes. When I got home and ate the dish, it was so bland, I can't even tell you. There was absolutely no spice or flavor to my whole falafel platter. I think the pita bread and salad was the best part. The rice was kind of hard, had a weird feeling to it and was completely bland. Not even a smidgen of flavor was in that rice. The falafels were also completely dry and bland. All it tasted like was a crunchy grain ball. That's it. If it wasn't for the Taziki and the red sauce they gave me on the side, I wouldn't have even eaten this meal. I have never had such bland food. I will not be coming here again. read more

This place is good if you can ever place a order I have tried ordering here at least 3 times recently first time called around lunch time on a week day the phone just rang and rang 2nd time I walked in around 5pm and was told the aren't taking orders even though they weren't closed yet google says 7pm yelp says 8pm and the door wasn't locked 3rd time called went straight to voicemail go down to the place and they are closed yet again before their closing time. When I first started ordering here service was amazing now its the complete opposite needs to update its closing times and answer the phone get back to having good customer service. read more

I keep having to pick out really brown old lettuce which is not appealing. Fix that problem and it's a five star! I didn't care for the meat of the Gyros by itself BUT my co-worker loved it & I ended up loving her Shish kabob & chicken kabob so it worked out. This was my first time here & first time sampling this kind of food so I'm sure it's an acquired taste. I added fries to my Gyros & it was amazing all together! The fries were nice & crispy that I didn't need additional condiments like I normally would. I'm adding an updated picture of the menu taken on 5/24/18. Prices were very reasonable & all the pictures of the menu food looked good. I was disappointed that I didn't try their hummus it looks so good but what I got was sooo filling!
