He gave us tailored service to me and my family based off what he felt like we would like, even recommended us not buying as much because the portion sizes would be to much.(which he was right) he isn't a salesmen he is just passionate about what he does and you feel it and taste it. I went into this place mid afternoon on a Friday because Village Baking Co, that I remember from previous visits to Modesto was not open for paninis. I searched for lunch in the area and found Super Gyros. That sounded good so I stopped in. Owner was very nice. They had a deal of any sandwich, any side and any drink for $12. The gyro delicious with so much meat it was falling out. The fries were hot and crispy. Located in a nondescript strip mall but very nice inside. He he's been here for 25 years. I got the gyro plate-- beef and lamb with rice, salad, and pita bread. Everything was delicious. Inside was clean and tidy. The best part about my experience here was the man that I dealt with, I wish I would have gotten his name! He was very pleasant and went above and beyond. AMAZING FOOD. My family stopped by on a whim and the owner was kind, helpful, attentive, suggested choices for my daughter. I tried to eat here because I was craving Greek salad . The person greeted me - maybe he was the owner? He wasn't wearing a mask, and it took me by surprise. I am a restaurant owner, and I always wear a mask at the restaurant and require my staff to wear masks as well, as we are in the middle of a pandemic When I pointed out that he didn't have a mask on, he said he didn't think he had to listen to the government. So I left without eating here. I'm giving them one star for being unsanitary. Since I did not eat here, I cannot comment on their food. But...If they don't listen to the government to wear a mask during a pandemic, how do we know they wash their hands after using the restroom? My husband and I tried eating there 2 times before we finally made it in, and it was worth the wait! The restaurant is very clean and not too packed with tables, so it's very inviting. Excuse my ignorance, I have just learned the goodness that is Middle Eastern food. To be specific anything made with Chicken I am a fan of. As well as Shish. I have been on a roll lately that's all I want to eat, so I made it my mission to eat at every restaurant in the 209 with the word "Gyro" in it. Lol Was recommended to try Super Gyros on McHenry by a coworker. And I am ashamed to say I have driven past this place over a million times and have never noticed it. A couple of coworkers and I wanted lunch, and therefore I recommended something Middle Eastern I wanted some chicken. One said Super Gyros, and I was excited another new place to try with my new obsession. I ordered the chicken lunch plate that had two Chicken Kebabs, yellow rice and a salad. I am not sure of the sauces that arrived, they were not needed. The pita bread that came with the meal, was phenomenal. The roasted veggies I didn't care too much for, but to the main part of the dish, the chicken was extremely flavorful, was another reason for me to be obsessed with this cuisine. Sadly I was not the biggest fan of the yellow rice, but other than that, this place is good. Coworkers who had never tried Middle Eastern food were even surprised how much they enjoyed it.
