My daughter wanted shrimp. She is 4.8 yrs old and loves non fried seafood. We got there and she was falling apart after missing her nap....she saw the clams and went crazy for them. The food was overly sauced and overcooked to hide the old and not fresh taste. Some of the food tasted as if it was frozen before it was cooked. I love a good buffet and this place is a good buffet. Everything is fresh, hot and they always replinish before it gets low on your favorite item. It's your standard Chinese buffet with other cultures food in the mix i.e. Japanese , American, and Mexican. The thing about this location that I like is the noodle bar you can choose your fixings, choose your broth/stock and enjoy. So, this is exactly what it says it is...a buffet which means it comes with all of the expectations (like huge mounds of food flowing everywhere) and some of the predictable annoyances (like sesame chicken that doesn't taste quite like chicken). I can say that the sashimi is surprisingly decent and the hibachi grill is actually the best part. Most of the food in the buffet area tastes overcooked, old, stale, wrong, or odd in some way. If you come here, I'd recommend you just immediately get in line for the hibachi grill and maybe stick with just the vegetable options - the meat looks like it's been sitting out for a long time. A buffet is a buffet. This one just happens to be a little bit better than the other Asian buffets, though since I haven't been to too many, I can't exactly compare. I came on a Sunday night, with a huge party of 20 or so. We were seated in the corner, which in the end was a downside and an upside. While carrying my extremely full bowl of noodle soup was a real challenge, it was nice being away from all the running kids, given that I could get past them to get to our table... The selection is quite large, given the tiny space of serving space versus how many seats are in the restaurant (there's so much seating). There's a large variety of Asian and American foods, a whole aisle for the desserts, noodle station, hibachi station, even a little corner for ice cream, though they do ask you to only take one per customer. The price was very cheap for the amount of variety. However, taste is still the same as any other buffet, I only suggest you go when it's busy so the food is fresher, though that could mean you're waiting a little more often if they're swamped in the back. The downsides: service and separation of foods. It was especially busy, I'm not going to cry about the service lacking. They did the bare minimum when they could which was picking up plates and handing out the bills. They didn't take too terribly long to bring out waters for our late party members, though the utensils were a different story. I had to sit a while staring at my cooling bowl of noodles waiting for a waitress to bring out more bundles of utensils. The separation of foods bit, I noticed that for the noodle soup, the way it works is that you grab what you want in your noodles and hand it to a worker. The worker then puts it into a little net and its submerged into a huge pot of boiling water. It is then put into a bowl with your choice of soup and toppings. This at first sounded like a great amazing plan. It was efficient and clever, but I thought about how so much could happen in the time a customer picked their food and the time it was given to a worker. It leaves room for contamination. While the low boil of the water might remedy that problem, I wondered what would happen to those who were allergic to shellfish, since a popular ingredient was shrimp. Besides the noodle soup problems, lots of other food had their bits and pieces strewn across the buffet serving lines. That's not so much the restaurant's fault as it is the customers'. Overall, the place is good if you're wanting Asian buffet. I'm never finding myself wanting that, so I doubt I'll come back unless it was with others who want it. For $12 on a weekend, the price is great given that you like the food and you're willing to eat large quantities of it. For people like me, who are a little more picky and can't eat as much, it's still only $12, not a big price tag at the end of the day. read more

I've been in Atlanta for over a decade and I'm quite familiar with this location when they were still called "Grand buffet." Like many buffets, this location went through several iterations over the years, but through it all he has always been the better, more versatile, more caring One of the bunch. There's always more selection here, more refill for the dishes every few minutes, and more generous portions for only 12 dollars! I swear whenever I came here it's like I'm making a stealing, whatever I crave, I will simply find it here. So took my family here to try the food, it was pretty mediocre not a whole lot of sushi selection, and food was meh. We came in at 3pm to have our lunch/dinner, we barely saw our waiter/waitress whoever they were. They rushed us out basically. We were 3 plates in and they already handed us the check. So I let it sit there, waitress came up and made me sign it. I told her I was still eating and she just stood there. I looked at the check and they charged me dinner prices...I was there before 4pm. I was like whatever, never coming back here so I don't care. Then when I paid and signed it, they looked at me. Asked me where's the tip? I told them I'm not even done eating... so my wife said let's just finish up and get out of here. She went to take my daughter to the bathroom while I was feeding my son, they came by and cleared my fucking table! With me sitting right there. He then hovered and asked me again for a tip! I said I'm not done eating! He hovered around my area waiting for me to leave a tip, refused to let me stand up to get more food, and when I went to get food, he cleaned the whole booth and took away my high chair. Even if you are eating, the waitress and waiters come to you and ask you if you need more juice, and they add some to your drink right away. My husband and I came for a Friday dinner, so I assumed I saw the best of this buffet. Very good for the price. Food was hot and abundant, and there were waitresses replenish the trays constantly. Our table was clean,dishes were clean, and the floor was fine. Waiters were friendly and attentive enough for a buffet. Really, you cannot ask for any more for a $11.99 buffet. Seafood was okay in general. Clams and mussels were good. My husband and I both came back for them. Their fried crab was a little bit too dry, but not bad. However, I did not enjoy any of their fish dishes at all. My hands were voluntarily reaching for water after every bite. They were either very salty or with some weird flavors. Their chicken dishes were good for a buffet. I would say their General Tao's chicken was much better than any Chinese takeout I have ever tried (probably because those takeout places around me were just too bad). The sesame balls (with red bean paste) from the frying station were so good. They were crispy on the outside, while sweet and soft in the best way in the inside. I had three even if I was on a diet. The pink cream thing and the vanilla pudding (with coffee cake underneath) in their dessert section were wonderful. They were creamy and sweet in the right amount. Fruits looked fresh, though they could be sliced smaller for easier bites. No ice cream machine, and they charged 1 dollar if you want an additional ice cream cup. That was a let down. Next time I will come back just for their dessert + those sesame balls (probably for a $7.99 lunch)! Now let me say something about their sushi and hibachi. Their sushi did not look attractive to me. They looked crappy and small with weird ingredients inside.The salmon sashimi was not cut right, and those sashimi slices were stuffed together like a sloppy raw meet ball. I did not try any of them, but other people seemed to enjoy them. My husband tried a dish of hibachi. He finished the dish alone (which was kind of a compliment for the dish), though the lager pieces were somehow hard to chew. Probably they were just not suitable for hibachi. Overall, the buffet was above than average compared to other buffet I have had in the past. My husband had never been to a buffet in the US except for Nori Nori, which, in my opinion, was not in the same category with normal buffet. He was a little disappointed at first, but became satisfied after I told him the price (nearly 1/3 the price of Nori Nori's Friday dinner). The place is a 30 minutes drive away from our home, so it will not be convenient for us to come back often. But we will come back if we are extremely hungry. read more

By far the BEST buffet ive been to in my life. Such a great assortment and the trays were constantly refilled considering we went there close to closing time that was very impressive. Love this place. I come here weekly. I start off with some hot and spicy Ramen (made in front of you), then move onto dumplings and finish off with some hibachi (also made in front of you). Getting refills on your drinks never happens and the servers can nnot even comrehend the english language! This place is way better than Hibachi Buffet (HB) on Liddell Lane. I am glad I tried this place. You knew it's a better place when there are many East Asians (Chinese and Koreans) eating there. SHB is better than HB mainly because the food actually has better flavor and look far less like food that's been cooked for a long time. For the price, HB is not bad but it's a place where you go for quantity and not quality. The food at SHB, however, are more presentable. They also have more different sushis and their sushi actually are edible and not bad, too. I have been to HB a few times because I didn't know about SHB.
