My husband and I went to the Duluth location last week for the first time. I really loved the screen on the wall playing music videos! I didn't understand the music, but I liked it anyway lol. It was pretty loud at first -- I couldn't even hear my husband sitting right next to me but we asked the server if they could turn it down just a little, and they actually did, which we really appreciated. Our server was cool and friendly, and the food was good. The bulgogi was my favorite, so good! The restaurant appeared clean, but my only issue was that the floor was very slippery. Been to Iron Age in VA and had a great experience, so while visiting GA, my friend & I had to check out the Iron Age in Duluth. Compared to other Korean Bbq locations, Iron Age keeps dining very simplistic. Starting from the menu choices, where there are two options which is a la carte or all you can eat. My friend and I both got the all you can eat option for around $30 per adult. The meats we tried were the brisket and unseasoned steak. We cooked the brisket to make it slightly crispy and dipping it into the sauces provided, it was really good. The unseasoned steak was cooked medium rare, but it had too much fat and chewy for me to enjoy. We ordered the brisket few times and called it a day. I feel like they short changed us on the egg portion. Small portions in a small aluminum bowl to cook over the fire, my friend wasn't too thrilled. The kimchi here wasn't bad, was more of the fresh kind than the fermented. Our waiter was really cool & friendly. He not only cooked our meat to our liking but also recommended other good Korean bbq places in the area. They have a Photo Booth in the front with amazing lighting. Was in the area at the mall of Georgia with my family and my mother was craving some Asian food. However, my little siblings are not so cultured in food. They did not want to eat that food but I told my mom you know what let's just go and introduce something new to them and that's what we did. It was a wait time for about 30 minutes which we put our name on the list and they text us on the table is ready. The host was nice. However, the bathroom was dirty, and the floor was very sticky. When the table was ready we were escorted to our table in which our server introduced us to the menu as it was our first experience at this location the food was phenomenal. Flavors were Bussin. The fire was a little too hot. We asked for them to lower it down. They only had rice, rice cakes, salad and steamed eggs. The steak was full of tendons. They had broken cups that leaked all over my pants. Only one side of our grill worked so our food took forever to cook we were an hour in and we were still on our first meat. And let's move onto the meat because the meat we got this time just wasn't good. I have no problem with fatty meat but this meat was like the wrong kind of fatty and it just didn't taste good. The portions were also huge which is usually a good thing but it was just too much especially with only one side of the grill working. The sides were good so I'll give them that. We were happily surprised at the excellence of this KBBQ spot in the Korean hub of Duluth. Our server Matt was attentive and offered great suggestions. The bulgogi was SUPREME! The marinated sauce on both the regular and Hawaiian was sweet and savory. The side options were plenty, such as rice, steamed egg, and kimchi. The spot itself is very modern and darkly lit with music videos all around which would make this a great spot for evenings and weekends. I loved the menu and selections, the biggest downfall is that the menu is all you can eat so you can't take home any food, they do not have to go boxes. This is the Korean barbecue you cook your own. They are very particular about cross-contamination and making sure it does not happen for the safety of the customers. I really appreciate that atmosphere is a little different. It's blue lights lasers shooting all over the place but it's a nice atmosphere And if you're there by yourself, you go to the restroom. Don't be surprised if you walk back to your table and see that your food plates drinks, and all is gone. I had to have them reset the table, but they were really good about it. They set the table back got me all my utensils my drinks and reloaded. We have some good steaks I had the seasoned steak and I also had the Steak that's marinated which is really good and tender is good flavor and the pork belly was really a good Addition also they had a salad they had this red sauce which is really phenomenal. I'd love the taste of it reminded me of Italian restaurant in my hometown so I use that sauce as a dipping sauce for the meat but they were really polite over here very helpful. When she came back, I asked if we can have the shrimp and vegetables next. She told me the shrimp still had it's head, shell, and were not deveined. I told her if she understood people were basically eating shrimp shit if not deveined and cleaned? Man I love Korean Steak Houses! So I came here with my kids before checking out the Japanese Life Store close by. We've eating at Korean Steak houses and this one got right in. We got there in time for lunch ($23 pp) deal, all you eat off of the specific menu (see pics). The small plates of food in general I would give a 7/10. The plates ranged from cold to warm items. I was expecting the rice hotter and also the rice cakes but they were on the colder side of warm. We were 1 of 5 parties there at that time and had to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated the waiter asked if it was our first time and then began explaining Iron Age. Choose 2 proteins and I will take another protein order once you all are almost done with the second. We choose the nerf bulgogi and lemon chicken. The waiter fired up the grill, took our drink orders (2 Sprites and a water) and left. Came back almost 5 minutes later with drinks and left again. We didn't see him again for 10 minutes. When he came back I asked, "do we cook the food or is he cooking the food (ALL KOREAN STEAK HOUSES ARE DIFFERENT)?" He said we cook it but he will come back and help. I threw all the beef in the grill. I noticed it wasn't cooking the same so called the waiter over, he then instructed that the grill has a hot/ cold side, etc. so I needed up cooking the beef then the chicken. We all enjoyed our food (I'm a great cook ‍ . CONS: The restaurant has a Restaurant Health Score of 81. The waiter never mentions not cooking beef and poultry (I DID NOT). On my out the patrons increased and I saw ppl with raw chicken next to almost cooked beef. We barely saw our waiter, never got our drinks refilled, when he came back I was done cooking. Overall: the food was good, I enjoyed the ambience and decor. My family and I had a good family experience. read more

The steamed egg is raw and you have to cook it yourself and when you do cook it. It's not that great. The rice cakes are also not that great. There is no side soups. Basically the sides can be improved. The rice looks pre portioned and a little dry. I supposed they did alot of this for efficiency but at the same time it dropped quality. If they just improved the sides alone this place would be pretty good. The real rating for this place is about a 3. Mediocre but the service was excellent. If you like eating quality over quantity go somewhere else. If you want alot of meat fast without the staff playing games come here.
