My old buddy and I were craving tacos. SuperMex is half way between Seal Beach and Huntington Beach. It is very conveniently located on PCH and Warner. This little strip has some of our faves. We can now add SuperMex to the list. It was not crowded at Noon on Wednesday. We were quickly seated. The service was super friendly and cool. The number of beer taps behind the bar is impressive. The menu features all of our favorites. We are both partial to the green Chile pork. I got the deluxe burrito he got the plate with rice and beans. I swear I only meant to eat half. Ordered through Uber Eats and this was an absolute mess. I ordered albóndigas, chile toreado, and salsa with chips. Everything showed up except the main dish the albóndigas. I immediately called Súper Mex and contacted Uber Eats, and all I got was finger-pointing between the restaurant and the driver. No accountability. No ownership. Not even a basic apology. What really makes this infuriating is that I tipped in good faith, only to have my order completely screwed up. As a paying customer, I expect the bare minimum: correct food and someone willing to take responsibility when things go wrong. OK, so this place doesn't seem like a lot when you look at it from the outside, but I have to admit that it was really good surprisingly really very good. My family is very picky on our Mexican food and I have to admit this was probably one of the best restaurant Mexican food that we have eaten in a very long time maybe it was just the day. Maybe we were just really hungry, but nonetheless it hit the spot. The Carne Asada was just delicious not overly salty and the Crema de Pollo was amazingly delicious. Our waiter took great care of us and our kids and was really a great evening to engage a very long day of fun. They gave us endless chips and salsa, which was always a good plus and on top of that we had a virgin piña colada while it was a little bit pricey, but yet it is Huntington Beach. It has been a couple years since I've been here. Now I'm wondering why I haven't come back sooner and more often. The service was fast, friendly and on point. The restaurant was clean and roomy. There are 3 big screens playing sports. What's not to love?! I went with the 3 enchiladas combo with rice and beans. 2 chicken enchiladas and 1 cheese enchilada came on a hot play nestled between rice and beans. I love super mex's beans covered in cheese, and could probably make a meal out of them by themselves with their free chips/tostadas and salsa. I've been eating here for years and it's still great. The crispy beef tacos are my go-to...perfect every time and my wife loved her carne asada salad. The tahini margaritas hit the spot, and it's an easy place to enjoy with a group. Our friends live in the harbor, so it's just a short walk from the Duffy docks, which makes it an even better meetup spot. We came here after paddleboarding. It had many TVs for watching the game etc so that was good. We had an IPA and a paloma. The IPA was standard and the paloma was strong but then that might have been the effect of me being in the water and out in the sun all morning. We had shredded beef tacos, carne asada, and grilled fish tacos. Tacos were definitely not authentic street tacos and they had a lot of guacamole in them. Tacos were big though so that was good. Food was just okay. The service though was excellent. Our waiter was funny. We've been here before, but I wanted to update because I had a great Green Chili Pork Burrito. It was filled with tons of a yummy family recipe that is second to none. I was really happy with my burrito choice. My only regret is spending $$ on a "house"Margarita. The lovely missus was also happy with #4 on the menu. This is for the manager and owner of the super mex off of sunset blvd. The service you provided to your customers is ridiculous and here's proof that you take advantage of customers by serving small portions with high prices. You claimed I was lying over the phone and provided awful customer service instead of trying to rectify the situation. With the tone of voice used by your manager and the lack of concern to resolve for multiple inaccuracies on my order should be a red flag for customers at this location. The manager made zero attempt to try and resolve the situation and should an overall lack of concern for the errors made. View photos below for proof. Quality control is lacking for order accuracy. Two different tacos to be shredded beef with nothing on it besides cheese made incorrectly and a second taco with ground beef also made incorrectly claiming that I requested it for both if I had requested it for both then the modifications would've been shown below on the receipt but instead weren't because it wasn't requested. Photos below show the portions provided are not as shown on the online ordering portal and the high prices do not reflect the portion received. Overall the quality of the food and portion size were not an equal value. The customer facing employees should have the skills to resolve customer issues and display concern when issues are raised regarding deficiencies with order accuracy. read more

I knew what to order, and had to wait about 10-15 minutes for the waiter to arrive at my table to take my order, but as I said, I was early for my haircut appointment, so I wasn't in that big of a rush. Now for the food: I ordered the #15, which is the Three Enchiladas combo, which comes with rice and beans. The beans were great (yeah, not as great as the ones at Don Ramon's off Edinger, but they were just as great), and the rice was great, but my enchiladas were perfect. Came in for a saturday dinner, I ordered the super mex Cali burrito with jalapenos added. This burrito had to have literally an entire can of jalapenos in it, when I took a bite it was just rice & jalapenos at certain points, hardly any carne asada. I counted about 20-25 jalapeno slices in here, thats pretty much a whole can right? We spent over $200 at the Super Mex on Pacific Coast Highway expecting a good experience, but were instead met with shocking discrimination and hostility from a staff member named Rolando. We had soft music playing quietly from a phone at our table -- nothing disruptive. Rolando approached us rudely, saying the restaurant's speakers were "loud enough" (despite no music playing). When I politely asked for his name, he gave it, but then became aggressive when I picked up my phone -- wrongly assuming I was taking pictures of him. He cut us off, raised his voice, and told us we needed to leave. This is not how any customer should be treated, let alone after spending hundreds of dollars. I've contacted corporate directly and submitted photos and video to document the incident. If you value respectful service, think twice before dining here. read more

Love this place to grab a burrito to eat at the beach ,, friendly staff , stopped in today with the hubby to grab a carne asada burrito with pinto beans rice and guacamole ... asked hostess to have them cut in half.
