Unfortunately, my dining experience at Flecha Cantina was horrible, and the service from Gianna was a major reason why. Gianna passed by me three separate times without taking my drink order or even acknowledging that I was waiting. On the final pass, instead of finally taking my order, she told me, "I'm actually going to take these orders first," and continued helping other guests. I understand restaurants get busy, and I'm normally very patient, but there's a difference between being busy and making a guest feel like they simply don't matter. A quick acknowledgment or "I'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. Management seriously needs to consider retraining Gianna on basic customer service and how guests should be treated. You can train someone on the menu, procedures, and how to take an order, but you can't teach people skills. Unfortunately, that was what seemed to be missing here. For a restaurant where you're paying to have an enjoyable dining experience, the service should be much better than this. Very disappointing. read more

Served with chips and salsa, always nice to he ave while waiting for appetizers. Drinks: The mango passion fruit martini was a miss. Texture was more like a smoothie, tasting lacking. Replaced this with Rum elderflower cocktail, perfect and hot the spot. Food: enchilada mole with tofu chorizo was okay, dry. With separate small plate of beans and rice. Expected more for the price. Upon entering, I was rocked by the huge bar at the entrance to the restaurant and was greeted with a margarita that was perfect on this warm and humid day. If I was here for a drink, I think i could sip about seven of these margaritas just to set the stage for a wonderful dinner. The restaurant is gorgeous with plants flowing from the ceiling like a tropical rain forrest. The food is relatively inexpensive for such nice ambiance with lunch specials and brunch menus available during the morning and mid-day. The menu has all the favorite Mexican/Spanish cuisines and really fills you up. But wait, there is dessert that follows, which can include flan or loaded churros to round out the experience. Large party so we got seated in the open air area, which was not the vibe in this heat or humidity (not the restaurant's fault) Buffet had a large offering of Mexican items like chilaquiles, enchiladas, pan dulce, birria, chile verde, and juevos rancheros, along with more traditional American stuff like bacon, sausage, eggs beni, and waffles. There are a couple of stations where staff will make fresh omelettes and tacos, along with pancakes, concha ice cream sandwiches, and cotton candy, of all things. Overall, the food was not bad. Most everything tasted good and staff was definitely on top of replenishing. The stewed meats were on the fattier side, which is how it should be. The good thing is there is a lot of variety here so even pickier eaters should have no problem. It's decent. Nothing blew me out of the water but I also can't say I didn't enjoy. The price was also not bad compared to how much you pay to eat out nowadays. Service was the best part of our meal. We had Brandon and some other gal (name is slipping my mind) - maybe Michelle? They even greet you with a complimentary mocktail when you walk in, which is a nice touch. Right now they have a $20 lunch special that comes with unlimited drink refills, chips, an entrée, and dessert. Such a good deal, especially for this area. I have a feeling we just had a bad experience with the service but the food was mid and not memorable (really "Huntington Beach" Mexican food) 1- the first impression was great because you get there and you get a welcome drink. When you wait for your table, you sit in this side lounge area that felt like we were really just chilling instead of in a random waiting room. 2- Staff was nice. I'll give them that. But our server wasn't training and it was kind of painful. And to be honest. We couldn't tell which one wasn't training and which one was the experience server. They were both pretty bad. Met up with my friend Dough for dinner here on June 18th. He had been before and said their happy hour was really good. We arrived and checked-in at the front and were told there was a little bit of a wait which we didn't mind, then the hostess asked if we would like a complimentary margarita while we wait and I said yes-please! She grabbed a carafe that was sitting on ice in front of the register and proceeded to pour our margaritas in a champagne flute. The margaritas were delicious and shortly after we were seated. Our server was this really nice Asian girl/lady. I wish I got her name, because she was so on top of it. Immediately she asked if it was our first time and I said it was mine. She suggested a few of the things she likes that were on the menu and I found that super helpful and went with the birria quesitacos and the house margarita that I had when I walked in. We were there to catch up on 3 weeks worth of stuff and our server read the room and was so polite when checking in on us. The food was great and the tortillas were what really stood out to me. I hadn't had tortillas this good since dining at Pour Vida. I ate one taco and some beans and then for dessert I had the Churros Royale and they were everything you would want in a churro dessert. I would come back here again and try to make it to their happy hour. We arrived just as it was ending around 7 pm. Our server really made our experience excellent and the complimentary margarita while we were waiting was an nice touch. It had good music bumping and a lively atmosphere visible from the outside so we felt intrigued. I will say that towards the middle and end of our visit, the service definitely slowed down and wasn't as attentive. It took a bit of time to flag her down to get the check and close out. However, the food and ambiance coupled with the service in the beginning definitely made up for it. The 100% blanco used in my cocktail was extremely pleasant and smooth. Food: I ordered the 3 street carne asada tacos with a margarita for $15. The meat was very moist and flavorful, though the avocado salsa offered with the tacos was lackluster. The tacos were smaller than traditional street tacos, they looked more like tapas. The chips and salsa were good. Chips were crisp and fresh. The salsa was a little too salty for me, but my sister liked it. The machine for a blended margarita was "broken," so we settled for a mixed watermelon margarita, which was delicious. I was expecting to have a great Saturday night experience, but it ended up being just okay. The hosts welcomed us with a peach margarita, which had a very good flavor and was a nice touch. We sat at the bar, and all bartenders were super friendly and attentive. However, one bartender took a very long time to take our drink order. When I asked about my margarita, he said there were not enough glasses available to serve it, which seemed like a strange explanation. Later, when we ordered a second round, he again told us we would have to wait for glasses to become available. We didn't mind waiting, but the service was noticeably slow. Fortunately, another bartender noticed the delay and kindly stepped in to bring us our drinks. There were also a few mistakes with our food. That said, the place itself is beautiful, lively, and very popular. The food was good, and we appreciated the complimentary chips and salsa when we arrived. Despite the service issues, we came back a week later on a happy hour at the bar and sadly again the service was super slow, bar tenders are super nice but they need more people working in the bar. It took them almost 10 min to take out order and the people next to us said it was a slow service for them. Have been here a few times. Had a great day experience in the outside patio area. Did a brunch with my mother once it was amazing. Although came here at night and the service was horrendous to us people-of-color. Our server completely ignored us, continued to pass by and say she'd be back, and left to talk to other tables. Very cool modern atmosphere with a combination of interior and covered exterior patio seating. For it being outside on a hot day, the patio seating was actually very cool and pleasant. The food selection was a combination of American and Mexican food offerings like eggs benedict, bacon, sausage, breakfast sandwiches and stuff like red and green enchiladas, beans, rice, chile verde, etc. They also had a couple service stations that do omelets and cotton candy. They had a decent desert bar with pan dulce, waffles, pancakes, flan, churros, and a couple other items. The quality of the food was very good, particularly the eggs benedict and surprisingly the refried beans. Considering you have a lot of drink and food options, the $90 out the door for two people isn't bad at all. Our hostess and server were very pleasant and great to deal with. My husband took me to Flecha Cantina for their Sunday brunch as part of our Mother's Day celebration. The brunch included unlimited mimosas for $50 per person, although I overheard it is normally $45 on regular Sundays. I accidentally made my reservation for Monday instead of Mother's Day Sunday at 11:00am, but the staff was very accommodating and still allowed us to be seated at the bar area. We came with our baby, so it was a little challenging since the high chair sat lower than the bar seating. They had a wide variety of food options including prime rib, ham, omelettes, tacos, quesadillas, chilaquiles, premade mole, and pozole. The tacos and quesadillas were pretty good. The prime rib was decent, although it was sliced very thinly. There was also a large dessert selection, and they even had cotton candy available which added a fun touch to the brunch experience. On a recent visit to Flecha we had excellent food but terrible service. We went on a Monday night around 7pm and the place had a small crowd but plenty of open tables and plenty of staff working. Initially things looked promising service side but quickly got bad. The server failed to be attentive to anything we had ordered. Our initial drink orders still hadn't arrived by the time main entrees were being served. On top of that half our table got their meals while the other half had to wait an additional ten minutes for their food. This definitely falls on the sever for not paying attention to her tables especially when the food runners are bringing out the meal. Once they noticed the error they definitely started trying to correct which is why I'm giving four stars instead of three. The food was also amazing which is the other reason for our higher rating. We will be back to give them another chance. Hopefully this was just a one off with the one particular server we had. read more

Came here last night for the first time and it did not disappoint! Be aware it's in a very busy shopping center and parking was tough even on a Tuesday night so plan accordingly. Perfect flavor without being too spicy, perfectly poached eggs--loved every bite. My partner had the smoked salmon and it wasn't what he was expecting--it was warm flaked salmon and didn't have any smokiness to it. Skip this in favor of other meats! Vibe comes down to preference. I came here yesterday with friends to catch up over drinks and appetizers. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of open tables. We were told by the host that the wait for a table would be 5-10 minutes, so we decided to grab a drink at the bar and transfer to a table once it was ready. The host asked for my name and phone number, which I provided. Unfortunately, no one acknowledged us at the bar, and there were dirty dishes sitting next to us. Eventually, a woman behind the bar took our drink order. About 20 minutes went by, and we had to flag someone down just to get water. I went back to the host to check on the status of our table, and she told me they were prioritizing reservations and that it would be another 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile, back at the bar, no one checked in on us, refilled our empty water glasses, or cleared the dirty dishes next to us. We watched other people come in, get seated, sit near us at the bar, and then get transferred to a table. We also noticed that people walking in were being acknowledged and even offered complimentary mimosas. At that point, we had been there for about 45 minutes and were ready to leave. The bartender finally noticed that we were wrapping things up and asked if we needed anything. We asked for the check, and it was brought to us very quickly. What made this experience especially upsetting was that we have never felt this uncomfortable or unwelcome at a restaurant. I have to be honest and say that we felt profiled because we are people of color. To make matters worse, we never received a text saying that our table was ready. At this point, I honestly wonder whether the host ever put my name down in the first place. The entire experience was disappointing, not because we had to wait, but because of how differently we felt we were treated compared with other guests.
