I've known and used Superplush for years, and they always did top notch work. I ordered an Ohlins rear shock for my 2020 Z900 and they installed it perfectly. Unfortunately, I also ordered (and paid for) a front Ohlins cartridge replacement. That was two years ago. I have called, texted, emailed and messaged on their website for 2 YEARS and they still haven't performed the work or given me a refund for the parts I ordered. I'm not sure what happened to this shop, but I would steer (pun intended), very clear of it based on my experience. I will now have to contact my credit card company to reverse the charge and will be reporting them to the CA Secretary of Commerce for fraud. read more

Super Plush Suspension nightmare experience also known as James Si. (last name shortened) I was bottoming out my frontend suspension and needed stiffen that up. SPS company name came up, and many online reviews sworn by this shop's work. I started talking to James in May of 2024 to try and arrange for the stiffer front fork spring - James asked me to drop factory front fork spring over at his shop so he could have a visual inspection of the spring size, after that I naturally had to pick the factory spring back up. It took two months for him to understand that the spring is not the way to go or technically not feasible to further stiffen the front end via immediately available means. That should have ringed the bells - but James was hyper professional and actually knew the right, real world practical answers to real world practical challenges. I continued talking to him then about getting full Ohlins setup (rear/front) - this/Ohlins conversation has now started at the very end of June (May-June he was figuring out the spring upgrade). I placed the order with Super Plush Suspension / SPS for shock and cartridge kit mid July now, with James that is, one month later I've been trying to get any word from James on the status and he has gone rouge on me - completely disappeared - no text, no phone pickup after multiple and numerous calls/texts/emails - nothing. We are now into December and James tells me that the bike will be ready on 12/15 and i can pick it up at 2pm. I arrived at the given time to find that there is no one there and place is closed, 0/zero communication.. Mind you, it's 2 hours drive for me. I came back the following Tuesday 12/17 after work, mid day now, to find one of his "employees" there, as well as some as "understanding" attitude folks who were intimately familiar with my ongoing nightmare. At this point the bike was missing the installation of the front wheel and some other minor parts. Aforementioned employee (Chris) agreed to do the needful and that's when i finally picked the bike up. I tried to keep this story on point and short (there is more , but it took almost a year to do the needful, there was no communication, literally 1 message per month or even less at times from James and no progress until i was actually showing up at the shop. read more

At first I debated on writing this review, however after seeing Anton's review and nearly mistaking it for my own... I realized that I didn't even write a review yet. IF YOU DECIDE TO GO HERE OR GOT WRECKEED. DISPUTE IT WITH YOUR BANK. DON'T LET THEM WIN. If they owe you a penny or work. Small claims court IS AN OPTION. Here's the short version: - Takes forever to respond. - Ongoing issue since October of 2024. - Asked for set sag, and also recommend a spring. - Finally caught them in their shop, asked about my spring in November. - They had my spring but just straight up forgot about me. - Scheduled in, and at this time was cordial because I heard they were the best in the business. (but I think they should work for mobsters at how little they talk under pressure.) - Brought my bike in. - Bike was completed sometime in December, but took forever to track them down for them to give me back my bike. - Had the landlord or the person who was going to buy out their space keep a watch for me (thank you kindly sir, because of similar issues) - FINALLY CAUGHT THEM. Got my bike back but they had ordered wrong spring. - Opened up a dispute to protect myself. They lied and said they scheduled me in for 1/22 but no such communication. - Finally he responded to tell me he's been moving shops for like 3 months with no expectation of when I can expect my swap. - Charged me TWICE but luckily was able to dispute it. - Reopened the dispute case, submitted a message to the CFPB for my bank. - Going to serve papers for small claims court. Honestly I don't even care about the money at this point. It's the principle. It's happening to other people and they're getting away with it. Humbly requesting they change their name from Super Plush Suspension to Super Hush Suspension. Also change the motto from "Small shop providing quality work" to "Suspension so quiet, it might not even be there." read more

SUPER PLUSH SUSPENSION (SPS) STANDS BY THEIR WORK! I requested a service for the forks with SPS for my beloved 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure in late summer of 2021. This bike had over 40,000 miles of abuse on Northern California back roads and the left fork seal was leaking. The bike has the electronic damping system (EDS) so i wasn't sure what complexity that would add. James immediately responded to my request and said that it would be no problem to service the WP EDS forks and provided a thorough consultation which made it easy for me to decide upon replacing the guide bushings in the forks as I plan to keep on riding my faithful 1190 a lot longer yet! The process with SPS was easy. I dropped the forks off, they were there when they said they would be, and I had the forks back the following week. Upon reinstalling the forks on my bike the left fork was still leaking after the first ride, albeit just a little. Optimistically I thought that this might be part of a typical bedding in process but I let SPS know that I would "keep an eye on it" then I got busy and didn't ride too much for the next couple of months. When I did ride again it was obvious the leak was not going away. Even though a lot of time had elapsed since the service, I contacted SPS via their online appointment portal and Emily immediately responded saying they must have missed something and would gladly resolve the problem at no charge. No questions asked. SPS even offered for me to bring the bike in so they could remove fork themselves at their expense. When I dropped the fork off, not expecting SPS to remove it, I was treated with nothing but gracious respect and cordiality. James received the fork and was genuinely intrigued by why it was leaking rather than annoyed to have to rework it at no cost. He explained that they would go down to a microscopic level to see what they missed and replace all of the wear items again. A few days after the fork was delivered to SPS, James contacted me updating me that they found some unusual wear internally but would replace the wear parts and seals as well as polish the fork inner. Another few days elapsed and fork was ready to pick up. James greeted me kindly, explained what they had done to rectify the issue and apologized for the inconvenience. I asked what I owed him and he said with a smile "Nothing. Don't worry about it and let me know how it works out". Being in the equipment service industry myself, this level of service really struck me as incredibly refreshing. Not once was I made to feel that I was putting SPS out or that I was in their debt in anyway. They just honored their work and graciously put their best foot forward to correct it. It speaks volumes to the character of James and his company. Thank you James and Emily for the royal treatment. You're a class act! My fork now doesn't leak a drop and I couldn't be happier. p.s. As a side note my friend recently had his whole riding experience completely transformed when SPS upgraded his stock BMW RnineT suspension to Ohlins front and rear. Riding this bike went from a white knuckle experience to a confidence inspiring telepathic extension of the body and my friend is on Cloud 9. He's a big guy so not a lot of bikes fit him but his SPS solution is perfectly tailored and spot on. read more

I brought a vintage AMA Formula Extreme Bike to James, ridden by some guy names Josh Hayes and/ or Rodger Lee Hayden (no way to tell some 18 ears later btw)...Heard of them? Of course you have... After talking to James on the phone, I got the whole Graves Yamaha experience story so I thought the guy had his sh*t together. I brought the bike and told him basically that the front seals were leaking, and I knew from some folks at Honda North America that basically the bike is irreplaceable, not because it's worth a ton (it is to me) but because this period Superbike stuff is really hard to find, HRC kitted transmission, obscure stuff that just can't be found...I spoke to the team manager back in the day, Honda spent over $200,000 on these bikes in efforts to win this championship....and I told James that...basically I was trusting him with my baby. And I'm in NO hurry, do the job right, ok? Assurances abound, yes he says I will connect the actual correct rear Brembo I found in Connecticut , flush it and make it actually stop, yes he says I will look through my Ti fasteners and sell you the ones which you are missing, yes he says I will take pictures of the internals of the cartridges ('cause I didn't know what was in there), yes I will provide you with the correct service manual for your Superbike forks...I'm like wow. Cool. ...some time passes a few weeks, reasonable amount, and then I get an email from some guy named Eric ...telling me my bike is done. I say great, but who the h*ll are you? Eric did the work on my bike apparently. Come to find out that James is the big talker, sells the services of Eric...which is fine...but a lie, a lie of omission...it's kind of like going to a Laser Eye doctor and him assuring you he's done 20,000 procedures and then his assistant operates on your corneas. Hmmm. I tell James this (and Erik when I pick up the bike) and I am unamused. I don't feel a bunch of concern from Mr. Superplush. When I look over the bike on pick up, you know what? All the stuff promised? NOT DONE. YES the forks and shock were serviced for just under $1000. But not by Mr. Superplush himself. By...well, Eric, a guy I didn't even know was in the picture. Who didn't work for Graves Yamaha or any of the other places James supposedly got all this experience that I was most definitely lead to believe I was buying. If that was the case I would have used Dave Behrend who WAS one of the techs on Bruce Transportation Group Honda FX effort when the bike ran in anger, he owns Fast Bikes Industries in North Carolina. I see James as an absentee owner, not terribly organized nor attentive to (this) customer(s). Apparently, many of the other customers are happy with Eric's work, which is fine. I had a very good experience with both Erik and James. I first met Erik on the trail at the SheetIron in March 2015 and picked his brain because I was aware that the suspension on my '04 DRZ was fairly smushy. Later I learned the rear shock was shot and I was desperate to get things sorted out before another 4-day event I was heading into. Admittedly, I'm a bit dumb in the science of motorbike suspension but I know what feels right when I am riding. Erik walked me through the process and tried to respect my budget although I recognized it was more important to get the right setup in order to fully enjoy the bike. A negative experience with Super Plush Suspension both James and employee Jen. I've been trying for 2 weeks to get a resolution from them, after they lost $1,150 of my deposit money. I had to prompt them, on every infrequent communication, where they offered little substance - given the serious nature. They insist they can't continue with the contracted work unless I give them another deposit for parts. After 14+ hours of effort on my part to investigate how they lost it, they've made excuses but obviously were not paying attention during the Venmo transfer giving incorrect numbers on where to send the money. They ultimately failed to offer any way to fix their mistake except to apologize and suggest I go away now. I continue to ask for a remedy, left polite voicemails and chats on their Shop Monkey chat system. They will not pick up or return calls now. One attorney characterized their mistake as "highly negligent". I'll update this to share the complete history and if they do offer anything to remedy this bad situation, its been 3 days with nothing from them now. read more

Night and Day performance difference, on the street the front end no longer dangerously dives, and off road is where it shines. I was looking for a perfect suspension setting on my bike and they delivered. I have a 2016 yz450fx which I bought brand new. I'm 5'10" 240lbs. I was never able to find the perfect suspension setting as I am primarily trails. Took my forks and shock to them and they worked their magic. Suspension is still soft enough to absorb all the rocks, logs and roots but stiff enough to not bottom out on highspeed whoops or jumps. read more

In a world full of poseurs, hipsters, and slackers who phone it in, these guys are the real deal. Two dual-sport/ADV bikes custom setup front and back, 2011 XT250 with a custom shock rebuild that needed some revisions and they took care of it in time for me to get to a Death Valley trip where I found I had what was basically a new motorcycle. Then I brought them my 2001 F650GS and they went out of their way to get the work done in time for a weekend trip. Unless you are buying a new KTM or a WR250, the suspension that comes with your dual sport or ADV bike sucks. So don't waste money on the fanciest or newest or coolest bike, buy a proven workhorse used and then spend the real money on a proper suspension job done by these guys. read more

Sorry that I'm so late in posting this. Back around Thanksgiving I took a first ride on my Tuono after you guys had reworked the suspension. Now, I don't know what the hell you guys did to this bike, but I have never been on a bike that handles so well. This thing is unbelievable. I could not hit a corner too fast. I look; it turns. Even the tightest turns required almost no work on my part. It is really really confidence inspiring and the controls are so much more in tune with what's going on with the tires. I reviewed SPS five years ago in reference to all my dirt bikes and all my road race bikes, and all that still stands. But I felt compelled to write more now that I've taken my KTM 690 Enduro on the gnarliest dirt roads in Colombia and everywhere else in between. It has held up magnificently and it handles everything like a dirt bike, dodging cows, accidentally running through foot deep pot holes, rocky river crossings, and all the dusty, windy, switchback mountain dirt roads we can find. I can't give enough credit to SPS. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I called up SPP to do a complete front rebuild / revalve and same with the shock, on my KTM Superduke. Got them the parts and a week later I had them back, stoked right?? Out of the box, didn't touch a clicker or preload, just threw it on and went and rode -- it's a new freaking motorcycle. On the smooth stuff the thing maintained its line as well as I'd ask a street bike to, even when I stabbing the brake and letting off abruptly rather than smoothly, the rebound damping was PERFECT and the bike would just slowly raise to its height and maintain its line mid corner. Seriously,I've had a lot of suspension work done in the past with a lot of different people, and while they all have their strengths and weaknesses, never has it been PERFECT out of the box. If you're on the fence, don't be. Do it. I won't be touching a single clicker for a long time, but the other positive is that I've got range to do so if I wanted to as all my clickers are mostly in the middle. read more

I bought a Penske shock 9 months ago, they helped by allowing me to pick up at the thec's house in Oakland. Well then my shock lost all dampening last week, trash in side destroyed the o ring. I don't drive, hadn't in years, I drove to their shop in traffic expecting to have to drop it off and return . I was pissed, not at them, just at having no bike. The mechanics reply after I told him what happened was really what I wanted to hear" I can drop everything and fix it in an hour"! Need I say more? read more

Absolutely don't go here. The employees/owners were helpful and pleasant enough, but the pricing is nowhere near competitive. I removed my suspension and dropped it off and ended up paying more for springs and a general service than I have in the past for complete respring/full revalve/full service and reinstallation of the parts on the bike. I told the tech's here that I was looking to do the job as cheaply as possible and was extremely disappointed to get smacked with a 700 dollar bill when I came to pick up my stuff. I would have been better off going literally anywhere else. I had hoped to save some time by going somewhere close to home(in san francisco), but I should have gone somewhere else. As a consumer, especially in regard to service based businesses, there really is nothing worse than the feeling that you've been taken advantage of, and that's how I felt leaving Superplush.
