Finally got the chance to try Super Pollo. Delicious! I ordered the quarter chicken meal and roast pork meal. Each came with a heaping serving of rice and beans and an avocado salad. The chicken is super good and the roast pork is also super yummy. I can vouch for all of the other Yelpers and confirm that the sauce is delicious. This place is a hidden gem! I've been looking for a chicken spot that can compete with Pio Pio, and I think Super Pollo definitely came close! We have ordered on 2 occasions and one was a small catering order for a small get together after my daughter's baptism. We ordered on short notice, but everything went smoothly from the ease of ordering on their website to the timely delivery (they were actually a few mins early!) The food was hot and packaged very well. Loved that their green and garlic sauces come in dressing bottles so it's easy to share and store after. I think their pricing is also very fair. Beef empanadas are very good and so are the sweet plantains! We actually substituted plantains instead of fries and added a note....nice that they obliged with no extra cost when so many restaurants ignore additional messages in notes. Breaded chicken was nice and golden, but paper thin (check pictures). I actually laughed. Mashed potatoes tasted like water, really bad (maybe I am naive expecting real potatoes from a restaurant). Avocado salad was nice and fresh, with good selection of veggies. But the shameless saving pattern continues as I have never seen avocado sliced so thin. Ordered one of the family combos for delivery. The food was impeccable. Perfectly roasted and juicy chicken. Tasty plantains and beans. The garlic sauce is awesome and everything they say about that green sauce is totally true. Went to this restaurant today for the first time. The place looked clean which is a major plus. The mojito and piña colada were good. For appetizer we ordered the tostones with guacamole the tostones were too thick and not cooked thoroughly. For entree I ordered the salmon which was ok, it had too many pin bones. And my boyfriend ordered the bandeja paisa, he said it was pretty good but the beans were not. The killing was at the end, we were charged $3.00 for 3 to go plates. I wish I would have known we were going to be charged to take home the food that we didn't finish and paid for. That was tacky of them. The waitress added her own 18% tip to the bill...ummm don't think she deserved the 18% but ok I guess. If you go here for dinner don't forget to bring your own Tupperware. read more

I have been coming to Super Pollo for the past 5 years they and I have never had a bad experience with there food. There menu is small but everything that they have in there menu is delicious. The waiter is always nice and always come back check on you. They are also dog friendly and I bring my bulldog all the time. read more

If you want authentic Spanish food, this is where you go. I'm pretty judgy when it comes to Spanish food, (I'm Puerto Rican), and the food was fantastic. The service was great; the servers were attentive and kind. We had a huge party and everyone ordered something different. I had the Bandeja Tipica with an order of Cheese empanadas and it was delicious as always. The plate came with Grilled Beef, Rice + Beans, pork skin, Sweet Plantains, Fried Egg and Avocado slices. Will definitely order again...by phone only from now on... The Bad: The Super Pollo app, hosted by a third party company called 9Fold does not handle credit card purchases properly. They claimed that my credit card was declined due to my zip code being incorrect. While this may have been the case (doubtful however because I have used this card multiple times before), I was not notified at all. Instead, the card that was charged was my mother's card that they say they had on file from a previous purchase. While I have made purchases for my mom in the past using the app, I have not willingly nor knowingly saved my mom's credit card information and furthermore if I look at the drop down menu for my saved cards, I only see my credit card info. This is a blatant privacy breach. After spending 90 minutes total on the phone with "T.A" from 9Fold for the charge to be correctly charged on my card, they told Super Pollo to do it on their end. Additionally, 9Fold refused to take any responsibility. They tried to pass blame to the restaurant. Beware of using 9Fold hosted apps until they fix this workflow. When Credit cards are declined 9Fold apps should notify the customer; they should not facilitate nor make the decision to use another/someone else's card without the customer's knowledge. read more

If the service was good i would definitely go back here. But they are very slow. You also have to ask them for things a few times such as napkins, water, etc. the chicken was tasty. Okay lets talk in a way we can all agree is a guage for great Pollo stops. We'll compare to Pio Pio, the King of Queens. Super Pollo's chicken (Super Pollo: 8, Pio Pio: 8.5): Just as good as Pio Pio. Both can have a slight off day if you come in during a very slow time and the chicken might wind up being slightly dry. But otherwise very consistantly tasty Tostones: (Super Pollo: 9, Pio Pio: 7) I consider these better then Pio Pio. And the white garlic sauce is delicious. Green Sauce (Super Pollo 9, Pio Pio: 10): Excellent! Only slightly different then Pio Pio and I find that I have no preference as they both are hot and tasty, Yellow Rice (Super Pollo: 8, Pio Pio:9) Consistently good but Pio might have the only clear advantage over them in this department. PRICE (Super Pollo 10, Pio Pio: 7) Great low prices!! A meal of $13 at Super Pollo would be about $20 at Pio Pio. This is what makes them a better chocie in my book! For all you Pio Pio fans, we all know that the Green Sauce is what we look for and although I've tasted better, juicier chicken in other spots, it's the green sauce that makes it work. Super Pollo has the green sauce that we love and is the only spot I have walked into other then Pio Pio that I will consistently got to. The fifth star is because the price makes it the better deal. I visited Super Pollo with my girlfriend recently after having seen it on the way to Thai Village once before. The rotisserie chickens in the window looked appealing enough for us to weather the cold during the walk there. The interior is set up somewhat awkwardly as the host desk is in the back of the dining area and obscured by a wall. Overall, the interior seemed warm and comfortable, and they have what looks to be a reasonable wine selection. I ordered a chicken empanada (which turned out to be, like another reviewer said, in an Ecuadorian style, or Paraguayan perhaps -- meaning somewhat small, no scoring marks, very crispy but oily surface, and moist and doughy on the inside). It was delicious and went particularly well with the sauces provided. I also ordered the medium-size Chaulafan con Maduro y Aguacate, which was basically fried rice with diced meat (shrimp, chicken, pork, sausage). It was served with excellent slices of sweet plantain on top and, I think, a half of sliced avocado. The giant mound of rice filled the plate from edge to edge, making it a little tough to manage, but I like big portions. It looked and tasted excellent. My girlfriend ordered the chicken breast plato, which looked a little boring compared to mine -- just a piece of chicken on top of white rice, beans on the side, and a long sweet plantain. She said she enjoyed it, though. Also, the creamy green sauce that comes with the meals was great. Spicy and tasty. This place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for pollo as opposed to chicken. read more

Simply put, my favorite place to eat in Ridgewood. We come as a family as often as we can, and they always treat us great. From the delicious food, to the kind and courteous service, it's hard not to feel like home when dining here. Their rotisserie chicken has incredible flavor, and crispy skin, and that green sauce is to die for. I've also had their Carne Asada which is delicious, and probably the best tres leches cake cake I've ever had. On top of that, the food is just as great when you order it takeout or via Seamless. Me and three coworkers decided to try this place for lunch on a Friday because of the reviews and how close it was to our job. When we got there around 1PM there was no line for take out. Staff was friendly and we only waited 10-15 minutes for all of our orders to come out. When we received our individual bagged orders it turns out they they accidentally switch all of the entrees, so my coworker ended up with mine and I had someone else's, ect. Not a huge deal since I got what I wanted but just double check before you leave. All lunch specials are $9.50 and come with the main protein, side, soup or salad and a soda. I got the carne asada with yellow rice and beans, avocado salad and an Inca Cola. My coworkers all got different things, one got the chuleta and he commented on how soft it was. Another got the pernil and had to take half of it home. Lastly one got the quarter chicken and loved it. As others have said the green sauce is the bomb, we even requested extra just in case. I totally love this place the food is always great. Their chicken is so full of flavor and it is very juicy. The steak is really gd as well. Seafood is great, the servers are very nice and always attentive. Mothers day they even hand out flowers to all the ladies. The drinks are good, they even do a happy hour. It's hard to describe the unbridled passion I have for Super Pollo's 1/4 chicken with white rice and beans, avocado salad and green sauce. This is one of those hidden gems that begs for a bigger audience, although it isn't hurting for business from the neighborhood. I have to admit my girlfriend and I are obsessed with this place. We go there once a week, at least, for a proper sit down meal. And we pretty much order the exact same entree each time. I forgot to mention the homemade salsa and chips, until my girlfriend made sure to remind me to tell you. She is obsessed with the salsa. We actually stumbled upon this place one Summer evening. It has a lovely decorated patio with four or five tables, although the cold weather has forced us to dine inside. The interior is not as nice as the patio seating area, but it's the food that brings is back each time. I can't tell you whether the other items on the menu are as good.
