Want some delicious Dominican food? Then you have to try out El Rey II. It's located on city line, Liberty Ave. I came here after a nail salon date with my friend and the food was delicious!! I came here several times for take out but this was my first dinning in experience. I got the churrasco steak with a side of salad and white rice and beans. My daughter got an order of sweet plantains and my friend got a Pernil mofongo with rice and beans as a side. We all enjoyed our meal. The steak was very flavorful and tender- so delicious!! The plantains were cooked to perfection and the mofongo made my friend want to move to DR! She also got a morir sonando which she loved! The service was pretty good. I didn't catch the servers name as she didn't introduce herself but she was nice and attentive to our table. It was loud inside as others around us were drinking and hanging out. We didn't mind though, we were happy they were enjoying their lives. They used to have a outdoor dinning area but I noticed they got rid of it. Parking in the area is pretty terrible so I'm assuming that may have had something to do with it. I would come and dine in once again.

My wife and I have eaten here for many years now. Best grilled salmon and skirt steak we have eaten and not over priced the owners and staff are very friendly always attentive of customers need. We want to especially thank Donna who is our regular server she goes above and beyond not only for us but to all the customers she serves. And she also makes the best apple martini.

Fried porkchops (Chuleta frrita) was perfectly seasoned and cooked .Saute beef liver , smothered in onion. Yuca and fried plantain .

Fried porkchops were perfectly cook. DELICIOUS. My wife had beef liver smothered with onions. Rice and beans , fried yuce and plantain were all cooked and prepared with passion. Great delivery arrived fresh and hot.

I heard about the food so I decided to do some take out. It's your typical Dominican restaurant when you walk in. Screen shows you the rice, beans, meats. However they have a fully loaded menu (tacos, seafood, etc) you'll have to order that towards the register because there made fresh for you. I noticed if you dine in you'll be able to order alcohol beverages which is super cool. I will definitely come back and sit in to try their drinks. My dad liked the fried pork rice and beans that I got him. I ordered a fried snapper and I got this big platter with a nice size fish. I was impressed by the presentation. I want to try their deserts next time as well. For my two meals of friends pork, rice, beans and my single fried snapper my bill came up to $49 which is not bad at all.

An ENY staple. Definitely recommend EL Rey II if you're in the area and are looking for a place to sit down and eat.

Options were very limited so that was disappointing, we opted for the 1/2 price bottles of wine (also limited, 2 options). It was a quiet night so the bartender was also our waiter, he was great, very attentive and offered recommendations. Party of 6 we ordered a bunch of things and shared. The guacamole & mussels were very good, garlic shrimp were underwhelming. Tuna salad was huge, needed sauce or a better dressing. Dessert was disappointing (molten cake was cold, churros needed to be cooked more). Nice spot for a drink & app or a date but for dinner I'll stick to Tu Casa

The food menu looks amazing but we were just there for a night cap. I got the Cola de Leon with bourbon, lime and bitters. Damn was it perfect. The place is small, but has so much character. I'm obsessed and can't wait to come back for food.

Unfortunately, our experience with our server, Puro, was disappointing. He was never rude or disrespectful, but his service toward us felt very impersonal and not very attentive. From the beginning, there was very little warmth or engagement beyond taking our order. I ordered a glass of wine while my husband was still deciding on his drink. When Puro returned about 15 minutes later, my husband asked his opinion about one of the beers, and he simply said it was good without much explanation or conversation. My husband ordered it, but the beer took approximately 30 minutes to arrive. It seemed that it may have been forgotten. We completely understand that things happen, especially when a server is handling several tables, but there was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. I had actually been waiting for my husband's drink so we could make a toast together. What made the experience more uncomfortable was that a couple was seated at the table next to us about an hour later, and we noticed a very different level of interaction. Puro was much more conversational and engaging with them--laughing, joking, and having friendly conversations. It was hard not to notice the difference compared with the very limited interaction we received. I don't expect a server to entertain us or constantly be at our table, especially on a busy evening. However, a warm welcome, a little engagement, checking in, and acknowledging a significantly delayed drink go a long way toward making guests feel valued. That being said, I would absolutely return to Vetro. We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the other staff members we encountered. I know one experience with one server does not represent the entire restaurant. On our next visit, however, I would simply request a different server and hopefully have the complete experience that such a beautiful restaurant has to offer.

We asked about happy hour since Instagram said they had it, but turns out it's not a thing anymore. They owned the miscommunication and took care of us, offering $8 wine, discounts on a couple appetizers, and even a complimentary extra glass of wine to make it up. We ordered a few things off the tapas menu. The popcorn chicken, the octopus, uni and foie gras, short ribs, and beef tacos. The short ribs leaned a bit dry, but everything else was on point. Standout by far was the uni and foie gras. A little pricey for 4 pieces but very delicious. Big shoutout to the 2 staff on site, very friendly, warm and responsive throughout. I would recommend Tavern 157 if you're in the area looking for something casual with good drinks and food and not in the mood for Korean food. We went with the Chinese. I started with a Pina Colada a drink I only get in Chinese Restaurants for some reason. It was good. A bit Pineapple heavy. We then ordered a bunch of dishes to split as there was 7 of us. We got Boneless Spareribs which were really good. Smaller than normal and very tender with a great sweet glaze. Mussels with Black Bean Sauce which was my favorite dish. Giant but still tender mussels in an outstanding black bean sauce. One of the best black bean sauces Ive had in a long time. Grand Marnier Shrimp which were god but not as good as the long lamented China Chalet in Lower Manhatttan version. Still solid and a dish you dont see much anymore so everyone was happy. General Tsos Chicken was very good. Not much spice but the chicken was very high quality, not spongy at all. Tangerine Beef was another solid entree. Beef was coated in a light breading and sauce was good if a bit sweet. Roast Pork Fried Rice very good quality. Not that cheap yellow style. Staff was very friendly and efficient. It was obvious that my food had been simply thrown into a microwave. The couscous although hot it was overcooked and mushy. The chicken was warm on the bottom but extremely cold as I cut into it. The Short Rib dish had the same problem. The pasta was steamy hot but the rib was cold. I really don't have a problem eating cold beef, but I can't eat cold chicken. I would have sent my dish back however it was obvious that they weren't going to make a new dish I felt they would have just nuked it longer.
