This was the best massage place I have been to in the valley, and it's so cheap! Only $19.99 for a full one hour massage. Not 50 minutes, not 55 minutes, but ONE FULL HOUR!
It all started when my friend and I decided on cold and drizzly Friday night (yesterday) to venture out and find a decent massage place that not only stays open till late at night, but was cheap. I mean, let's face it. Burke Williams, Coldwater Creek, Massage Envy...those places are pretty expensive for a massage and they don't even give a full hour. I know these places also have different types of massages (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, etc.). But for the average person who doesn't care what the massage is called, but wants one that actually feels relaxing and at the same time, is affordable, what's not to pass up!
So Super Relax is actually an Asian massage. So don't expect them fancy massages here! No way. Don't even expect that you will have privacy (there are some private areas but I believe they cost a bit extra) because you will be having your massage right next to your friend or perhaps even a stranger. My friend and I had our beds right next to each other....
Those beds....they're small but so damn comfortable! I wanted to sleep on them. I'm not exaggerating. I told my friend this too and she agreed.
Anyhow, we walked in at around 6:15pm and were told that they would have two spots available at 7pm. I peered inside the room and it looked pretty full with people. So we said ok sure, and we waited till 7pm. Right at 7pm, they called us in, and two Asian ladies sat us at two beds next to each other that they had just cleaned up. They lined fresh towels, and brought over a tub of very hot water for our feet to soak in. We soaked our feet, and our masseuse had us take off our shirts. At this point, my friend was like, "I have a feeling this will be so worth it" and she was right. For the next hour we didn't even see or talk to each other. Our masseuses had us take off of our shirts, and started massaging the shoulder and neck area. Boy, did that feel so good. I was really relaxed and honestly, I don't feel that relaxed when I go to different massage places in the beginning. It takes me time to let go and relax my body as the massage continues. But not here.
Then after about what seemed like 5 minutes of the shoulder and neck massage sitting there with our feet soaking, we were told to get on the beds face down. We did and it was really nice. The masseuse was using her hands and elbows on my neck and shoulders and massaged my back so nicely. She did undo my bra while face down, and had me lift my arms off from the side to take off the bra but nothing at all where anyone would see anything (so yes, while there is no private rooms per se, there is definitely a respect of privacy. It didn't feel awkward at all. And the massage was sooo good. We didn't have to take off our pants (which we had hoped we would because massages feel different against bare skin, compared to over clothes) but our masseuses massaged our backs, our legs, our arms, helped put my bra back on while I was still lying on my back, and put our shirts over our heads so we could get our clothes back on right away. Since it was also cold, they had us covered with blankets. Oh and the really cool thing is that they used very hot towels on our backs and feet to wipe off the lotion and it felt really good with the massage.
When we were flipped upright, and laying down, our masseuses proceeded to massage our heads and shoulders. The back I believe they spent 3 minutes on, feet was spent 5 minutes on, head and shoulders about 5 minutes each, and arms about 5 minutes on each side. This doesn't count the first 5 minutes when they start you up with the warm foot bath and shoulder neck massage sitting upright before lying down on our stomachs. So yup, 60 minutes.
After the massage was over, they served us green tea in little Dixie cups and I was so damn relaxed I just wanted to sleep. My friend felt really great too and wants to come back here twice a month to get a massage as well as I.
Yes, the masseuses there don't speak English...if you don't like the pressure, you can tell them in keywords. I didn't have any problem with the pressure for my body. Yes, they do talk in whispers with one another while massaging (though not that much, just probably asking what each is doing), and yes there is some noise, but honestly with the relaxation, dim lights and ambient noise coming from the relaxing spa music they have in the background, it doesn't matter to me one bit. My friend and I really loved our time here.
And yes, from the outside, this place looks like we were about to go into a questionable area, (looks somewhat ghetto from the outside and not like you would expect relaxation), but looks can be deceiving and books shouldn't be judged by their covers.
This should be a 10 star rating, because I'm writing my experience and my friend's experience as well read more
