First time at Venus Massage. I came in with 9/10 whole body pain, and after a deep tissue massage from Cindy, it improved to 3/10. I especially enjoyed the hot stones on my back and left feeling lighter and calmer. I notice though the massage felt a bit rushed at times, and heard some noise & chatting interrupted the peaceful atmosphere. I've always been against massages, due to the prices. Solely based on the reason that back home in the Philippines, $30 could get me a full body treatment. Here at Venus, $60 is a rub down. Although my muscles felt relaxed and, so was I mentally. It didn't have the "wow" effect I'd typically get after my sessions. Would I recommend? If this the only option, then yes. I tried 60min massage twice and it was pretty good. I didn't like that they wear gloves when massaging feet but other than that it was good. That being said, an owner getting angry and chasing after customer for tipping is pretty f#$ked up. It didn't happen to me since i always give good tips but tipping should never be forced. No matter how small the tip amount is, can't attack customer the way it said happened in other reviews. read more

Disappointing. That pretty much sums up my massage experience at this place. I picked this place since it was fairly close to my house and disregarded all of the (negative) reviews since most of them were old. Gave them a chance hoping things have gotten better after the pandemic. However, soon as I got there and asked them about the $10 off coupon from Yelp, I was told that they do NOT honor this anymore because it's "old." No big deal, just please take it off your Yelp if it's no longer valid. On to the massage.. I am not a "massage expert" by any means but the massage was fairly mediocre. As another reviewer had mentioned, it was more of a back rub with oil than a real massage. In fairness, the masseuse asked me for my preference and said that hard was ok. However, I did not feel any pressure but just a lot of up and down motion. She was also kind enough to ask if I was ok. I'm not sure if masseuses need to feel enthusiastic about giving massages (that's probably too much to ask) but I did not feel pampered at the least. Omg the owner can become very angry and confrontational. Here's my short story: I got stuck with having to get my massage done by the owner due to lack of availability (big mistake). After at best, a mediocre - decent massage (first and last time). While on my way out of the business, I avoided him (by walking around him). He aggressively followed me to my car yelling at me and harassing me "where is my tip? You don't give tip? I refused to tip him. I did not tip because he rudely ignored my request to rub my knee (which was really sore). He also had the nerve to finish my massage at least 3 minutes early. (I know because I set my timer for 1 hour). I tried to reason with him by explaining my point of view but he proceeded to make a scene and yell over me " You no give tip, don't come back here". I remained calm and quiet. I hopped in my car. He then took a picture of my vehicle (still yelling at me) and walked back into the business. I was flabbergasted. I was a little afraid. He's lucky I did not call the police. I definitely felt threatened enough. I may have to report him to the better business bureau. Side note: I have had my massages done by other female employees in the past there, a girl name Nikki (no longer there) and a woman by the name of Anna. The women there are very friendly and nice and give a fairly good massage. My only concern is for their safety. WORST. They didn't seem excited for business. Required payment upfront which I thought was odd but I had a pain in my upper shoulders and was desperate for a massage. Once I got in the room they had a sign posted about being a professional service and no "illegal" activity. Got it, that's why they wanted payment first. With all that I still went through with it. I got the combo $30, half foot massage, half body, the standard service and price at most reflexology places. My change was $10 which is over 25% and normally what I would leave for a GOOD experience. When I asked for changed they had none to give me. AI ended up telling her to keep it and regret doing that. Lesson learned, I'll never go back, save yourself some dollars. read more

I liked the lady I had a lot. Good massage. My guess, I was being asked "what's that?" and she would make sure the massage was "okay" when it was too hard. She was very careful not to massage me beyond comfort, which was nice. Tighter / stressed muscles have those issues, but it means the massage is working. There is no English here, but that wasn't an issue for me (you might want to bring Google translate). I feel bad now, I should have tipped more. I didn't know, next time it will be a greater tip, especially if it's the same lady. I got hot stones, oil, full body except the feet for an entire hour (I did get a bit of ankle). It was $40, but also included scalp, around the eyes, fingers, etc. I will come back. When I went, I thought the staff I had was Chinese. It was a good experience, but everyone seemed uncomfortable with the menu. I had a feeling the employees had some bad customers. Good, clean, legal full body. If you're comfortable with your own backside nudity (perhaps frontal, too), go for the full body, but consider if you want feet done, too (full body + feet)... Maybe should tip more for feet... Their prices are comparable to other private room/thai massage places. They also have that early bird-$10 off which they posted on Yelp, so don't be fooled when you see it here! It's only available for before 2pm (if I remember correctly) treatments. My experience started with a 3 star because as the other yelpers stated they do ask you to pay upfront plus the deceiving discount coupon. The massage was ok, I had Wendy btw. She's nice and was quiet during the massage session. She asks where you are uncomfortable and that's where she concentrates. All the other areas are massaged but not as intensely as the "uncomfortable" parts that you pointed out. That was fine by me because I do have aches in certain areas. So I was done and was relatively relieved of my aches and I stepped out and Wendy has a cup of water for me. Then I started giving her a tip which i thought was appropriate for the service I got which is the point of tipping in the first place, right? She said shyly "excuse me" and smiled awkwardly while waving my $5. The lady at the desk said flatly, "body massage tip minimum is $10" saying it like what a cheapskate I am. So I told her that it's the first time EVER that i heard a rule like that. She insisted so I gave it while thinking already "this is definitely going to be on Yelp!". There was no one at the front desk so she went and answered calls and went to greet customers. You would think that she would extend my one hour massage for leaving so many times to make up the time but no she finished right at what an hour would have been from the time she started.
