Found this place on Yelp a couple of years ago. True to reviews, it was and still is efficient & well priced. I'll never go anywhere else. Even our Boxster, which is difficult to smog (a cover plate must be removed) was only a nominal fee on top of the reasonable smog rate. I needed a smog check ASAP thanks to registration renewal for the DMV, so I hopped on Yelp and found this place with all its 5-star reviews. Yelpers did not disappoint. I got there a couple minutes before they opened this morning, but Danny was nice and gracious and got started with my car. The info was passed along to the DMV which he said would update at midnight. I had a little over one hour to get the registration and tags on my wife's car. (I did not look at the Registration Form first.) So when I got to the AAA I was told that I needed a Smog. (A buddy of mine told me about this place.) So I drove up the freeway a few miles and pulled in. I was immediately taken in, tested and gone in less than 15 minutes! I have been coming her for the past couple of years and Danny has always been helpful. I just had my car smogged and told Danny that the car had been sitting dead for a while and he told me that he would have to check to see if the car's computer had been reset to pass smog. I've been here a few times over the years. Today I was in and out in around 10 minutes after a passing visual and OBDII inspection. It was $55 total charged to a credit card: $46.75 for the inspection, $8.25 for the State certificate, and $5 for using a credit card. Getting my car smogged has always been a pain (lots of waiting and expensive). My sister recommended this center to me and I checked it out on Yelp. Everyone was right! It was so easy. I came by around 2pm hoping that it wasn't crowded so I can pick my kids up from school afterwards and there was no wait. I've gone here 3 times to get a smog check done on different cars and I'm out of there in 15 minutes or less every time ready to go (today was 7 minutes). There is nothing fancy about this place, as basic as its gets. But its fast, and I'm not there to hang out. It's nestled in the crowded auto plaza and run by the owner/operator Danny. He'll drive your car into the entrance, do the test, take approximately $50 from you check and certificate (my cost for a 4-car sedan), transmit your data directly to the DMV, and you're out. I've gotten Pass each time, so can't speak to feedback if you fail (it's a check-only station). I advise you to come before or after the weekday lunch rush and you'll likely go right in. I was in the area on a Saturday morning for a brief meeting. I remembered I got a notice to get smog check with my registration renewal and that there are bunch of auto shops around Lake Forest dealership area. I called this place and the guy gave me no BS straight quote and estimated completion time of 10 minutes. I drove over and got there 2 minutes later and the person, that I am assuming is the owner was already doing a check on another customer's car. He told me to give a few minutes while I was waiting in a nice small waiting area with AC blasting. about 4 minutes later he comes in, get my info and my key. I was expecting it to take full 10 minutes but he came back after about 5 minutes and let me know it was done. You could totally see that the guy is a genuine and hard working. He was extremely courteous. I was dreading going over to a shop during one of the weekdays, but he just got it done so fast and made it extremely convenient for me.I am not going anywhere else for future smog check on any of our family cars. read more

There was someone ahead of me and someone behind. Sure enough he hustled to get us in and out in great time. I think he took 10 minutes to do the guys car in front of me.
