You do want to come here to eat tacos, however. EAT TACOS HERE!!! Best tacos in town! First of all, the tortillas are freshly made right in front of you and they are tender and delicious. All the meats are incredible. The carnitas is fall apart tender and juicy. The carne asada is rich and delicious, the chicken is super tender and flavorful. They put the right stuff on it and ask you if you want the guac. sauce. It is green sauce with some avocado in it, not really avocado, but its ok. The salsas are fresh and fantastico! They will plop on a freshly grilled jalapeno on there, too. SO good! They are very nice over at the restaurant part. It is a little confusing - you have to go to the store and order what you want at the store, then go next door with your receipt and give it to the cooks for them to make up your plate. There is a bunch of stuff on the menu, but I have honestly only seen people eat tacos there.

Sometimes it isn't. You can't rely on it and that is what matters. My wife and I tried to celebrate our anniversary there tonight, but our waiter screwed up my order in three different ways. I asked for whole beans instead of refried beans. He said he would take care of it. He didn't. I asked for sour cream and guacamole. I got neither. There was no explanation, just plates tossed on the table and then the server left before I could say anything. The waiter never came by to ask us how our food was. He never refilled our water glasses. They sat empty forever. After he took our order he never returned. It wasn't like El Molcajete was busy either. They were less than half full. Prices have gone up a lot in the last few years at restaurants. Customers deserve good, consistent food and good service. With El Molcajete it's like playing Russian Roulette. You never know what you're going to get. Tonight, it was lousy food and lousy service in the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever had to sit in at a restaurant.
