I didn't piece it all together until later. I can be dense that way. Our server, who was basically human sunshine, was the owner. THAT'S why she helped me arrange my chicken wings when she saw that I was going to take a picture of it. I guess I still had my Elite 19 Yelp Badge still on. I keep mine on a lanyard. Don't ya'll? She brought complimentary spring rolls. Do you know how much more positive anyone is when they are proffered FREE food, first thing? Miss Super Tastes knows her business. I feel bad--I may have nicked the server/owner with an incisor when I lunged at the spring rolls. Good Lord, hot and beautiful. And FREE. We ordered and I felt like a condemned man ordering his last meal because I kept ordering. I don't write that with any sense of hyberbole. There is actually a website that details condemned prisoner's last meals and I was right at execution at midnight level. I ordered chicken wings AND tempura shrimp. They both came with sauces. Different sauces. The server/owner recognized that I was a sauceaholic and brought me extra of everything. I mixed and matched like a gleeful kindergartner on the first day of fingerpainting. The front part of my side of the table looked like a Jackson Pollock work. Miss Super Tastes could have sold our table for about $140 million if the going rate for Pollocks is correct. While we were destroying our wings and tempura (all crispy, not a hint of oil with sauces that provided a dramatic contrapunt to the essential fact that what we were eating was fried), we watched Chinese TV. There were two screens--one which had a cooking show that was spotlighting food from Central Mongolia (which to be honest was a little bit too close to the barnyard for me) and the other that showed a Chinese game show. Now, say Central Mongolian cuisine to me and instead of a blank stare I can tell you that those crafty Mongolians will drag a table out into the barnyard and literally cook the hell out of any animal that is too slow to get away from the old women in colorful costumes wielding giant woks and meat cleavers. The other TV had a game show that had men in military-like uniforms looking over and asking questions of 10 sets of identical twins. I didn't really get it--like were they trying to figure out who was the other twin? Which twins were the most identical? I couldn't find any sort of resolution to my questions so I just shrugged. Sort of like how most of us go about our days with the abject weirdness that is all around us. Eason, who is apparently our server/owner's son, showed up to perform science magic at our table. He asked what I was drinking. Before I could say Coke Zero, he banged my glass on the table and studied it. Coke Zero he pronounced. He smiled and said regular Coke will react when its banged. Coke Zero won't. Eason will go far. My hibachi scallops and chicken were meant for an emperor, not me. I looked around, surely someone more deserving was behind me. The scallops melted in my mouth. The veggies weren't a rag tag blend either. Flavorful and fresh. Do you ever go to a place that is just endearing to you? Like you just feel good? Even how they spelled pork on the menu as "prok" and shrimp as "shirmp" was endearing to me. This is my go-to sushi place in Savannah, every thing I've ordered is amazing quality and fairly priced. The family who runs this business is so sweet and friendly, and they recognize us when we come in. On our first visit they gave us spring rolls as a free app, and the food came out perfect. Our server was a younger kid and he offered suggestions and talked to us in between helping everyone in the restaurant. We typically order by phone for pickup and the service has been great every single time, we even got some free spring rolls a couple of times. I love this cute little family run business and I will keep coming here over every other place in Savannah because good customer service is a rarity here. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls are the best I've had anywhere, they do not skimp on the fillings in the sushi. I also reccomend the ton katsu, super flavorful and crispy, and it's a large portion perfect for sharing. I tried takoyaki for the first time here and it's honestly my favorite thing ever. read more

Best we have ever had! The order came with around 6 or 7. They tasted grilled even though they didn't appear to be. So moist and flavorful. She inhaled them. The husband and I both ordered the two roll lunch special for $7.50. He got California roll and spicy tuna, both delicious. I got crunchy roll and philly roll, also great. The highlight was the Ichiban roll - spicy white runs with jalapeño and cream cheese inside and yellowtail and avocado on top with spicy ponzu. Best roll we've ever had. I like the food but the way the owner or manager treats his worker is horrible, multiple times I hear him ether yelling at the worker inside, slam stuff oh the worker table, cursing, or call the worker stupid or stupidity, he would later apologize to us, not even him! I liked that the lunch menu was available at dinner time for the same cost as at lunch. Service was prompt and our food came out super fast. We both ordered the 3 roll lunch special. The rolls had 6 pieces each. It was fresh, tasty, and well-proportioned. Super Tastes is definitely a family-run operation; the kiddos who served us were polite and precocious. I gave it a 4/5 because our experience was pleasant, but not perfect. Our miso soup was a little cold and the restaurant was a bit dirty. Probably the best tasting sushi I've had in a long time. This place is very non-assuming. We wanted to come for dinner the previous night, but the wrong hours were posted and they were closed. So we came the next day for lunch. Oh my goodness. The interior is pretty plain and they were loudly playing music that was very obviously Chinese, which was amusing, because this place is a Japanese restaurant. Our waiter was a little boy, definitely not older than 12. He was a little bit sassy but I can't imagine he's thrilled to be a server all the time so it's understandable. Got an order for pick up after work one day and if you haven't been here. It's a MUST! Food is very flavorful and the price is great for what you get! I got the lunch special with a few different types of sushi that I picked from the menu and my boyfriend got sushi and the crab ragoon! I have been ordering out from Super taste once a week for about a year now. Sometimes I eat there multiple times a week (my boyfriend and I are sushi fiends). The food is consistently good and the price for the portion size is phenomenal. The family that runs the place is always kind to me and have offered compensation the few times that something has taken a little longer than expected. If you take out you should leave them a decent tip as I know they work hard to get everything done on time and include additional items without having to request them. I popped in here for a quick to-go order before going home. I ordered the lunch special that included two rolls, and a bowl of soup or salad. The two rolls--spicy salmon and tempura shrimp--were very good. I really enjoyed their textures and flavors, but I would've liked at least six pieces in each roll as I'm used to at other places. The salad was fresh, but the ginger dressing didn't have the spicy and tangy flavors I was looking forward to. I also bought a lychee soda, and it was so tasty. Literally, the BEST hidden gem in Savannah! My fiancé and I have been going here since we first started dating, so obviously it is a favorite of mine. The owner is very sweet, and she obviously cares about her restaurant and the customers because she knows us by name and our order! The restaurant itself is very clean, and it sort of small but its perfect to order take out or delivery (they only deliver downtown). I highly recommend the MISO SOUP. It is literally the best miso soup I have ever had in any of the asian restaurants i've been to in my life and I grew up in Houston TX with a very large asian community there with great authentic food! The Godzilla Roll and the Philadelphia roll are my top picks, but really any of their specialty sushi rolls are to die for!--the volcano roll is also amazing!!
