Went just for happy hour. There were ten of us at the bar. Admittedly, only had drinks but I can tell that this place is awesome. The bartenders were really good! I mean...REALly Good. If you ever watch those shows of failing bars that have bartenders that are clueless...? That would NOT be these guys. The drinks were great...very decent menu of food and happy hour snacks. Some of our party ordered food and said they enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and the food coming out of the kitchen looks great. A beautiful space, we were sat on what looked like a sunroom with big windows overlooking the street. Service was excellent and personable. We started off with the Spicy Handmade Dumplings (Pork & shrimp, spicy ponzu sauce, scallion, ginger) amazing, but my entree which was the Vault (a roll with Snapper, tuna, salmon, crab, asparagus, tobiko, white tuna, eel sauce) was absolutely phenomenal and I could have eaten 10 of them it was that good. Having been fashioned from an old bank, the Vault gives such a cool, historic, type of bank vibe! The windows into the kitchen are the actual teller windows from when the building was a bank. Their actual vault from the bank is also there, and you can see the safe boxes used as decor throughout the restaurant. I came for a quick dinner and was genuinely blown away. The kindness of the staff was nice since I was dining alone tonight. The food was SO DELICIOUS! I wasn't feeling anything heavy with rice or noodles so I ordered the Inflation Short Ribs. It was seasoned and sauced perfectly and paired well with the veggies. For $7 house Pinot Grigios and a $12 SPF 15, I think the alcoholic beverages here are extremely decently priced for how modern the establishment is! The ambiance and decor of this place is very aesthetic with large windows and a lot of greenery. The mocktail called tropical twist was delicious. I had a house roll called Wild River. Unfortunately, the fish did not taste fresh and overall the roll felt like it was lacking flavor. Would have benefitted from additional sauce on the roll. read more

She was very knowledgeable and had such a refreshingly joyful personality! Lively restaurant near Thomas Square with fashionable atmosphere. Fusion-leaning, I went with their signature Bank sushi roll with baked eel and asparagus. I thought it was fresh and flavorful, though the woman next to me thought their sushi wasn't the best. Which, of course, I wasn't expecting since The Vault isn't a Japanese sushi restaurant. I have never had a bad meal at The Vault! This is an Asian fusion restaurant and wow they have though of some creative dishes. The open layout really sets the mood. The restaurant is spacious and can be a bit chilly so bring a light jacket if you tend to be cold. This place gets extremely busy. I've been to lunch on a few occasions and you can see the difference between the end of the lunch shift and dinner. Our server was kind and well versed on the menu, however, they were barely around after we placed our order. I don't normally have this experience so I count it as a fluke. The seafood ravioli is AMAZING. I could eat that everyday without issue. It's not a cheap dish so prepare yourself ahead of time, but well worth it. We were passing through Savannah during our recent road trip to Charleston and did a quick search on Yelp to find a lunch spot with some healthier options. The Vault Kitchen and Market seemed like a good pick with an interesting vibe. They also have their own free parking lot which is rare in Savannah, so this made for an easy pitstop. This restaurant is located inside the historic Bank of America building and there is an actual vault inside which is their private dining room. The interior has a sort of industrial modern vibe which was a surprise combination with the menu being more Asian fusion. Just based on the name and the look of the place, I would assume it was more farm-to-table/southern comfort food (like most places on Savannah), but it was a nice surprise to find a more creative and unique menu featuring sushi/nigiri/sashimi, tacos, curry dishes, seafood, dumplings, and salads. I started with their Naughty but Nice mocktail (green tea, homemade strawberry jam, and fresh cucumber smash) which was tasty & refreshing. My husband & I both wanted a lighter lunch, so I went with the ahi tuna salad and he got the Crying Tiger grilled steak with veggies. We both really enjoyed our dishes and even gave our son some steak to try... he loved it! It started pouring rain outside, so we decided to stay for some dessert as well before getting back on the road. We got their house-made mango sorbet and the key lime mousse. We were blown away by the serving size of the sorbet -- it was a massive bowl full of yummy sorbet. In hindsight, we wish we would have just shared that. The key lime dessert was good, too, but the sorbet was better (and not overly sweet). Our little guy also loved the sorbet! Unique menu & ambiance! There is an actual vault in the restaurant, where of you're lucky if you can get a table in it. This restaurant is located way outside of downtown. Nothing to see or walk to over here, except a few bars and a new brewery nearby. 2 completely different dining rooms, each with its own vibe. One is rustic and casual vibe on the darker side, with a bar & sushi bar Other room is more of garden room, greenhouse vibe with pretty white lights, outside walls are all plexiglass windows, very bright and cheerful. Menu is eclectic, and it's all done to perfection! Service is friendly and fast. One server is nicer than the next. Sushi is outstanding. Tacos are amazing. Salads are tremendous (ask for half portion if you're eating other things) We started with the fried pork dumplings. Perfectly crisped and not greasy. They were gone in minutes. Tuna tartar over seaweed salad has beautiful presentation and was fresh & flavorful. Porterhouse steak special was fantastic. Meat was perfectly cooked. The sauces with it were insanely delectable. One was sweet, one was crazy spicy. Both were perfect compliments to the steak. I had the Traveler house roll. It was outstanding! I could not finish it. Battered in tempura, all the fish & flavors were perfect together..including the asparagus in it. (Who knew?!?) We also had shrimp tacos, and desserts. All were delicious. I personally thought the tuna tartare had way too much seaweed and it would have been nice to have wonton chips to use to dip in instead of just thin crisps on top. Always have a good meal and experience at the Vault. Service was good this visit - but points for serving entrees before we finished our appetizer. Hate that. Started with calamari which was terrific. They serve the body of the squid instead of the tentacles or rings. Very tasty. For mains, we had miso salmon - very good but salmon (ordered medium rare) was a bit undercooked :( - Korean BBQ tacos, which were excellent with a lot of ginger flavor - and the tuna sashimi - excellent. Ambiance of place is always nice. The space used to be a bank so it has a vault in back which seats groups. Nice. Didn't have to wait for a table (Friday 8pm). Has a good bar with nice selection. Beer list is decent. Not dog friendly btw. Points off for a messy men's room. Towels all over floor. Should check on this more often. Last peeve is the 3% service charge for using credit card. I am growing weary of this. I know they are "passing through" the charge they supposedly get from the cc company - but this is a cost of doing business. Anyhow- a definite recommendation! read more

Came here for lunch while visiting Savannah. I had been a few years ago and liked it enough to come back. All I had was the wild river roll and it was delicious. Tasted very fresh. My husband and I visited The Vault in Savannah tonight and unfortunately had an extremely disappointing experience. After being seated, we waited over 20 minutes without a single server acknowledging our table or even asking for our drink order. During that time, multiple staff members passed by our table repeatedly while actively serving surrounding guests. What made the situation especially upsetting was that another couple arrived after us and was immediately greeted, served drinks, and already eating by the time we decided to leave. We were the only interracial couple in the restaurant at the time, and while I cannot definitively say that played a role, the disparity in treatment was difficult to ignore and left us feeling deeply uncomfortable. We understand restaurants get busy, but completely neglecting a table for that length of time without even basic acknowledgment is unacceptable. A simple "we'll be with you shortly" would have gone a long way. Instead, we left feeling invisible and unwelcome. Savannah has many wonderful restaurants with attentive hospitality, but sadly this was not one of them. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant was interesting including the old vault which sits at the back of the bar. Obviously a local crowd following which is usually a good sign. Food was decent though deceptively described on the menu for the Suishi dishes. Of note, my dishes and the person sitting next to me were placed on the same plate as they were both Suishi. It was placed on the table without explanation so we were waiting for the other entre to be delivered. Nothing said by the waitress until we questioned where the other meal was. Good thing that perso. Happened to be my husband but imagine being out with people you barely know and your food is served this way! And they never explained this not pointed out which rolls were which! I had to ask which rolls were what I ordered and for chopsticks -- to which the waitress gave one set though 2 of us ordered Suishi. Was the Suishi good - yes but not earth shattering, were the other dishes ordered good -- also yes but nothing special. I asked the waiter where the different fish were that was listed in my suishi roll description and he pointed out one on top under the roe but the tuna was one tiny little piece to the whole too and this 8 pieces missing 2 fish visually from the menu as described and was $21. I'm sorry but that's way over priced even for Savannah. The calamari appetizers was tough and tasteless -- avoid. The listing online said one thing about the dress code including no sandals and nice clothes -- arriving there we discovered everyone was casual dress including the waiters and waitresses so don't pay attention to that notice (maybe it's old and hasn't been updated?). Atmosphere was pleasant and interesting. Service was not the worst but certainly has some gaps that need filling. Would I eat there again -- not sure as so many other good places in the area but maybe. Desserts were the least favorite part and I recommend skipping those and going elsewhere for that treat. Headed to the Vault on New Year's Eve to check out a new restaurant in Savannah. The wait was short to be seated. The order was placed fairly quickly and it came out pretty fast as well. They were running out certain food items by the end of the evening. The place is nicely decorated and loved the ambiance. The food on the other hand was very bland. For an Asian fusion place, I barely tasted any flavor. The chicken lettuce wraps were not flavorful, the chicken was chewy and tough to swallow. The spring rolls and dumplings also lacked flavor. This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Savannah. Such amazing options. My favorite absolutely underrated appetizer is the tofu steamed buns, I had the whole table try them this time and everyone absolutely loved them. The miso salmon can be cooked to your liking, I always get mine well done for that nice char and smoked flavor. They have a great whole friend red snapper as well, definitely recommend. The Vault looks and feels right at home in the Savannah food scene--stylish, energetic, and blessed with that rarest of local unicorns: on-site parking. In Savannah, that alone nearly earns a star. The ambiance is upscale-casual with an open floor plan that's great for people-watching, though perhaps a little too open if you hope to hear the person across the table without resorting to lip-reading. The menu is genuinely exciting, full of dishes that made me consider abandoning my low-carb sensibilities. But then I spotted the Charcoal Chicken and thought, "Perfect--responsible and delicious." That's the moment the evening began to drift off course. Service? Excellent. Side salad? Unique and quite good. Thai dipping sauce? Tasty enough that I happily accepted a second container. And then there was the chicken. My entrée arrived so dry and so overcooked--yes, two distinct culinary crimes--that it felt less like poultry and more like a cautionary tale. It had real potential, but the execution just grounded it completely. If my serving was typical, management may want to quietly escort this dish off the menu before it commits further offenses. My reviews usually lean generously positive...but not last night. The Vault clearly has strengths--this dish just wasn't one of them. read more

This place has a mix of reviews. The food was above average, but the service - not so much. We went on a week night, a Monday. It was busy, but there was plenty of wait staff. What they seemed to miss is clear direction and organization. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and multiple entrees. We received water from someone other than our waitress. Our waitress took our drink order and she brought it out with two mistakes. She fixed this and took our order of appetizers and entrees. We did not see her again until at least 15 mins after our appetizers came out. We ordered (3)) appetizers, only two were correct. No one returned to fill water or check on us. We beckoned our waitress when she came into the general vicinity and explained what happened with the incorrect appetizer - which was not eaten and cold. She noted she would inform the kitchen and have our water filled, but also noted our entrees would be out shortly. Never asked if we did or did not want the remaining correct appetizer. Shortly after, they came out and she did return to check on us and noted she gave feedback to the kitchen. All of our entrees were cold and we never received salads. Three of the four entrees were good (noodle bowl, salmon, Tiger steak.) The charcoal, bone-in chicken was flavorful but very dry. We did not complain about the missing salads, cold entrees or dry chicken. When the waitress returned to bring us our checks she noted a 10% discount was applied - however the incorrect/missing appetizer was not removed. She took the check back and returned again. This time the appetizer was removed - so was the discount. My husband asked why and the waitress noted she was told no stacking of discounts?!?!? I'm not kidding. Not how you run a business. What we witnessed through the evening was chaotic. Waitresses do not bring out the food. A runner does, who we witnessed repeatedly bringing food out to the wrong table. Another person does water, but they clearly had no pattern or direction. Just a mess. As I noted, the food was good for the most part. I'd say takeout is a better option here...but for me personally the no stacking of discounts comment was a deal breaker. We didn't ask for a discount. However, we also didn't expect to pay for an item we never received and then get a discount that didn't even cover that item. Arrived at the Vault on a busy Thursday night. There was a 30 min wait but my colleague and I sat at the sushi bar cause the place was hopping! We were greeted fairly soon by Charissa. I noticed the people waiting were being seated pretty quick but we stayed at the bar. The Korean tacos came quickly and had a delicious spice and were cooked well. We both got the miso salmon and it was cooked exactly as I requested, med-rare. The rice absorbed the miso and it was delicious.
