The people who gave this place such rave reviews must either not be familiar with good wings, or are friends with the owner...or maybe they are the owners. Anyway, I went here the other day and was sadly disappointed. Coming from Philly, a city that knows its wings, I have had my share of both good and bad ones from all over the country. Super Wings will go down as one of the worst I have had in a long time. First, I will describe what was wrong. First, when ordering from the long list of various options (which was a good thing) I settled on hot wings (which the restaurant worker warned me was very hot) and the garlic parmesan. I asked about the crispy wings and they guy said you can only pick two different types of sauces....crispy wings was actually listed as a sauce?? Anyway, I forgo the crispy option and just got the unbreaded hot and garlic/parm ones. I anxiously waited for over 20 minutes, despite being the only person in the small, dirty, dingy restaurant (which is actually, surprise, a MEXICAN restaurant....as in...they sell tacos, burritos, etc. Waiting this long for something so simple was frustrating. Then, the wings finally arrived. Luckily blue cheese was included, but there was no celery, and the wings did not look tasty at all. Imagine plopping some freezer wings into the fryer and lightly sprinkling on some mild tabasco sauce. The best part about the wings was the blue cheese...not the wings themselves. So sad. The garlic/parm wings were dry as a bone...since there was no actual sauce on them (would have been nice to know that ahead of time). Also, the hot wings, that the employee warned us were hot...were actually more like mild wings....and the sauce was lacking. To add insult to injury, there were hairs on my wings....nasty! I somehow managed to eat my wings...after pulling off the atrocious hair and giant lumps of fat that were on each and every wing. Before leaving I actually noticed on the menu that I could have actually ordered crispy wings and still had the hot and garlic/parm toppings. I was really pissed that the employee didn't mention that, after I expressed my desire to him that I wanted crispy wings, not unbreaded ones. Case in point, Super Wings should change its name to Super Fatty Disgusting Lacking Sauce Wings...BLAH! Stay far far away from this place...you have been warned read more

I'm from Phoenix, AZ and just moved to the area. Wasn't sure what to expect, but liked what I read in other reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. Their tacos were great and the guacamole was delicious! I've been to a few other Mexican restaurants in the area, but nothing can compete with Super Wings' great taste and affordable prices. Went to this place after reading several yelp reviews. Was not disappointed! It is a little hole in the wall and when I saw the mexican flags, I was sold! I thought can they really have both wings and mexican food?! They sure did! My husband had the boneless buffalo wings and I had the steak and carnitas tacos with a side of rice and beans and let me tell ya... It was DELICIOUS!!! Finally, a family owned business who are actually mexican and know what's up!!! As a Cali girl, I know my mexican and this didn't disappoint. The wings are incredible. We had the medium buffalo sauce. Even on this Super bowl Sunday, they were handed to us for takeout in less than 5 minutes. Don't come here for the ambiance. Go for drinks down the road at Mezcal, then come here for food. I've had food at Mezcal that was inferior in quality and flavor to that at Super Wings (Not to mention 3x the price!). Gauc is killer. Ingredients are fresh and delicious. I agree wing flavors can be misleading with the wet vs. dry rubbed not being specified. But just ask! The owners are so sweet. Tacos are good but the salsa verde served with them is amazing. Sitting here as I write this. Talk about a hole in the wall type of place. From outside it's very easy to drive by and ignore it, it doesn't look great and it's small. The inside is not the most upscale place either. BUT the food is REALLY good! They absolutely crush it with the cooking. It is truly authentic Mexican, tons of flavor. Seriously this place has great wings. Sure the place is a hole in the wall that looks like a converted sub par studio apartment but they know how to sling wings. It is a bit odd the place appears to be an authentic Mexican restaurant and their Mexican food is fantastic as well however their wings take the cake. Cheaper than Buffalo Wild Wings and far better. Located in a tiny building lies the best boneless wings that I have ever tried. For $10.99 you get about 25 wings the size of meteors. I went out on a limb once and tried the home made tacos, purest with hate me for this but I rather have a taco from Taco Bell. Stick with the wings you can't go wrong. read more

I had high hopes for this place as the reviews seem to be decent and there were many people ordering there. I also realize that the people over here don't have many options and maybe have no idea what authentic Mexican food tastes like. The wings were ok at best. The buffalo hot wings were not all that hot and were fine but the honey BBQ had a strange taste that was not very pleasant. They were also not cooked enough so the skin around the wing was soft and mushy instead of crunchy. For what I paid I would have been much better going to BWW to be honest..same price but much better wings. I also got a chicken taco...mistake. It was terrible. The chicken was tasteless..literally..I don't know how that is even possible but it was and the taco was just filled completely with a bunch of raw onion and cilantro. I've had plenty of good Mexican tacos but this was gross. Lastly, I wanted a medium order of wings (14) so I asked for half honey BBQ and half hot wings, but they couldn't do that. I had to order 2 small orders (7 wings each) and get each sauce that way which was more expensive. I did it because I was hungry and already there but come on. Really? Best wings in the area by far and huge portions for the price. Only gripe is they are wicked stingy about their blue cheese. You can order 100 wings and they give you like 3 tiny containers of blue cheese. Even when you offer to pay for extra you get an attitude and still get jipped at least a couple containers.
