My partner recently got a haircut elsewhere, but after looking at it for a couple of days we both realized it needed a touch-up. Since we were going to be on Alameda's west side anyway for a few errands, we decided to try out this Supercuts. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by three stylists who recognized us from our usual go-to location on Park St. I guess they share ownership of both locations. Lovely ladies who are always kind and welcoming. RB's long blonde hair garners attention pretty much everywhere we go, and the very sweet stylist mentioned how beautiful his hair is - he gets that a lot, along with "Are you a musician?", lol. I explained to the stylist what was needed, and she did exactly that. 15 minutes and $22 later (pre-tip) we were out the door. I wish my hair was halfway this easy to work with. Very satisfied with this location, we will be back when on the west side of town, and will of course also continue supporting our Park St. salon. read more

This a first for me. Two haircuts within a few weeks of each other. I went in a few weeks ago to my normal Supercuts on Park Street for my biannual trim. My partner shows the scissor lady how much to take off. That last time she may not have told her to take enough off in fear of me being a whiny ass with it too short. Not sure why she would think that. It always grows back. I mentioned I didn't think it was a good idea to cheat on my scissor lady and she assured me it wouldn't be a problem since they are on the other side of town and prolly don't look at Yelp anyway. WRONG! Upon entering all the ladies recognized us. Apparently they work at both locations. Explained the previous trim was great but just needed a little more since my hair gets stuck in my pits when its too long. Next May or so will be 6 months and back to Park Street location if they will have me after my indiscreation. read more

This is hands down my favorite supercuts location ever!!!!! I love all the ladies that work here! I have been coming here for many many many years and I can't believe I have never left a review. All the ladies at this location are as sweet as can be. They are all VERY talented, efficient and soooo friendly! They do excellent work! Plenty of parking. The wait is usually minimal because they are so good. I can't say enough nice things about them. They are taking all Covid precautions. And it's a very safe wonderful experience. As I arrived the Staff was friendly and helpful, everything was looking great. I asked the hair dresser if she could give me a hair cut with Layers and I showed her a picture of what I was going for. She agreed and gave me the layered haircut, but there is a lot of patch's and one side is longer then the other. It feels like she wasn't done with my hair cut and was rushing as it was their last hour of work. And a line was beginning to form. The Service: the gratuity was great. Normally, the Park St location is where I get my haircuts. Recently, my haircutter since my first visit back in 2010 was assigned to this location for weekdays, I came here for my first visit. The two locations are under the same ownership so the two haircutters here today also work at the Park St. store. This location is located in the Marina Village shopping center, so parking is plentiful and not an issue. I walked in and only one customer was in a chair. Both of the ladies greeted me and my haircutter, Jane, was available so I didn't have to wait. As Jane has been my haircutter for the last nine years, I just sat in the chair and she knew how I wanted my hair cut. It was nice catching up since my last visit. I came on a Monday afternoon. No line. 3 hairstylists waiting for clients. I didn't get chance to show her what I wanted. I'm a tomboy anyway, so a haircut is a haircut. She trimmed about 2 inches off and layered my hair because I've got thick hair and it takes hours to dry after a shower. It was only $19. Tipped $10 because I felt sad that these ladies probably didn't have many clients that day. Or who knows, maybe they didn't have any and they have to alternate when customers come. read more

Jenny insulted me up and down and inside out, but dammit if she didn't give me exactly the cut I wanted! I have a favorite stylist in L.A. but it had already been over 2 months since my last cut and I couldn't stand my head for another minute so yesterday I decided on Supercuts. Jenny sat me down and that's when the insults started: "Did you cut this yourself?" "Wow, your hair is thin on top." (My kid's fault...I lost a crapton of hair after she was born and even now 11 years later it's only back to about 80%) "When was the last time you colored your hair???" (Said upon noting the 3 colors I had going on...dyed portion, roots, and hairline grays) Once I was adequately withered, Jenny got to work. It was almost comical how fast and furious the scissors were flying. I thought NO WAY is this going to be a good haircut. But when she was done and showed me the entire cut, I thought...okay, this isn't bad. I paid my $16 plus a $5 tip and left. Then this morning when I styled it myself, I was sooo super happy! It looks exactly how I wanted it! I'm glad I grabbed her card for next time. What a great reception I received when I walked in; which as a black woman I DID NOT expect! Typically, Asian women are afraid to service us. I wanted my hair cut after chemo and didn't think $100 was appropriate in case I hated it and needed to keep shaving. Sue was kind, and listened to me when I didn't quite know what I wanted or needed. I gave her some flat ironing lessons after the cut, and she even took the time to help me straighten it a little. This is an excellent Supercuts location. Parking is abundant and easy. I'm always able to just walk in and never have to wait more than a few minutes. They are very friendly, efficient, and - most important - talented hair professionals. They seem to share a lot of the same staff with the Park street location, but the Marina Village shop is much more convenient to quickly get in/out of, especially if you're coming from Oakland. My girlfriend and sister both comes here to get haircuts. They come because of one reason: trust. Time and time again, they walked out of here with a huge smile on their faces, which makes me happy too! I've always been that guy that sat in and waited as they got their haircuts, but it doesn't take too long. Here, they work fast and they work well! In general, no or short line, ample park, price is standard. Supercuts is a decent hair studio. If you prefer a super clean cut I recommend private owned hair studios as high turnovers in the Supercuts chain tend to have more new folks. Been alternating between this store and the one on Park street. Same owner and so the barbers are randomly assigned this location or the other. It can be a hit or miss depending on who you get so I think it's time to list who is good. Connie - she's pretty detailed oriented and settles for a clean cut which I was surprised by. Went over the sides several times to make sure nothing was sticking out. I get the fohawk which isn't the easiest to cut. Another messed up last time making the sides too long making it almost all even on top. Will ask for Connie again. read more

Ms. Duong is super friendly and knows her stuff! I came here last weekend. It was my first Supercuts experience and a great one at that. The place is tucked away in a plaza and there was no wait at 11:30am. Ms. Duong cut off about 6 inches of my hair and gave me a cute layered bob. I told her I wanted to be able to tie up my hair for Frisbee practice, so she was conservative with how much she initially chopped off. But she kept checking in with me to see how I liked it, and suggested that cutting a bit more off would be flattering. I took her advice and don't regret it. Wow that's a great cut for $15! I've always had a sub-par hair cut from this Supercuts for over 5.5 years I've lived here on the island. Why do I return? Cause I don't like the main stream salon's that are on Park Street or elsewhere on the island that are expensive and aren't worth the money you spend for your doo! I like the ladies that work in this Supercuts, and they are always nice and friendly. Just wish that they had an answering machine that you could leave a message on or to find out their hours when they are closed. read more

I've had relatively good luck getting my hair cut here. Typically, hairdressers don't listen to me and cut off too much of my hair. The ladies here listen and generally leave it on the long side, although they still cut more than I ask them too. They always ask how much do you want off. I tell them one inch. They make a big show of cutting of one inch, and then they keep cutting. It's my hair. Why would you think you have the right to cut off more? I have to go somewhere, so now I have to let it grow extra long to allow for their cutting off too much. read more
