I came in today to cut off split ends and reshape my bangs. The woman who helped me was nice (although she was very rough with my hair).I don't think she understood what I wanted. I asked for curtain bangs, and showed a photo with the layers I wanted saying "I don't want bangs across my forehead, just layered out away from my face". I got uneven bangs and they were half across my forehead, half curtain. Incredibly uneven. See below photo. I was really surprised at checkout when they said my haircut was $82. If I knew it was going to be this much, I would've gone to an actual salon and gotten my hair done how I wanted it. The second I got in my car, I had to fix it (with kids scissors). Other than the poorly cut bangs, the layers in the back are okay. I just really don't think this was worth the amount I paid. I hope I can get some sort of refund but I don't think that's likely. Edit: As the day went on, I thought more about how they claimed I was charged extra for long hair. I wanted to point out while I was getting my hair brushed, the stylist was starting from the very top and was quickly and roughly tugging on my hair, causing knots that she was not careful with. Long hair is supposed to be brushed from the bottom, going up. You should never start at the top, it just causes more damage and tangles! So considering I was charged extra for having long hair, I was not taken care of properly. I'm so upset that this was my experience today and everybody at work and home has been telling me that $82 is INSANE for the service and I was scammed because I am a young girl. I never go to salons and I think this is truly my last time trusting another person with my hair. read more

Not happy. Not surprised they don't have much staff--because they have pissed so many customers off. I get there, and I'm told it will be about 20 minutes. I was told over the phone that it was dead and I didn't have to reserve a time. Okay, well...I waited... I just wanted a cut, because I had already been there waiting for so long, with outdated magazines and dirty hair styling books not ceasing my ants in the pants. I wanted to just get it cut and leave without the wash and blowdry, but the hair dresser kept saying, "are you sure you don't want a shampoo?" It was a hot day and my hair was a frizzy mess, so I gave in. Got the wash, got the cut...she was being pretty lazy with giving me layers. I know a thing or two about a good haircut. Then afterwards she was going to leave my hair wet and assumed I wanted it left like that...of course if I got a shampoo I might as well get a blowdry, so I asked her if she could blowdry it out with my hair flipped outwards. So I guess that's called STYLING...I didn't ask for my hair to be STYLED. I asked for it to be blown dry professionally...so all that and a bottle of sirum for a grand total of about 70 bucks. My hair looked like crap within an hour after she "styled" it. I should have been charged about 40 bucks (not including the sirum), but no. I won't be returning. It's incredibly awkward here and they cut my hair like crap. I DON'T LIKE BEING DECEIVED. I should have gone to a real salon. My hair looks terrible now--it's uneven (not talking about the layers) on both sides. I hate my hair, and I officially hate supercuts for jipping me for the last time. This has happened before and for some reason I let it slide. If you're going to charge a lot, at least do a good job...and I don't know...TELL THE TRUTH AND BE CLEAR ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE CHARGING YOUR CUSTOMER! read more

Jessica did a wonderful job taking care of my daughter. I was pleased. The salon was clean, organized and friendly. It was definitely a great place for kids, but welcoming to adults as well. Thank you Jessica! I misspelled her name. It is Gessica. I went back today (12/13/15) for a haircut myself. I am incredibly picky, and I found her to be just as capable with a pixie as she is with a straight cut for my daughter! Again the salon was pleasant. Wonderful experience! Jennifer McArthy is a new hairstylist at supercuts and she was absolutely amazing. Normally I hate getting my haircut but she made it enjoyable with her interesting combination of bubbly personality and professionalism. She paid careful attention to details and was seemed genuinely concerned that I get the best haircut possible. She also has a wealth of knowledge on hair product and gave me some great suggestions. I brought my sons here for back-to-school haircuts, and we were matched with Seanna. One of my boys has been growing out his hair for the last year and was thrilled that it was almost long enough to put in a ponytail. He even asked her if she would try to put it in a ponytail when she was done. We explained that we were only there to clean up the area over his ears because he was growing it long. Seanna suggested trimming his hair in the back so it would grow out one length. My response was "only if it's the bottom layer so it looks the same length as it is now." It seemed that were on the same page, but then she proceeded to cut ALL MY SON'S HAIR SHORT. It set him back a year in his goal to grow it long. My son and I were practically in tears when we left. I called later to give Seanna my feedback about our experience but I'm not convinced her apology and "have a nice day" really indicate that she understands the trauma she caused my son. read more

Total rip off! I'm a frequent visitor of both super cuts and hair cuttery in Lex, Burl and here for shampoo and blow dry for my kids. But never here again. I've paid in the neighborhood of $12-16 for a shampoo n blow-dry (no haircut) at the lex or Burl locations of super cuts or hair cuttery. For no known reason the last time I brought my daughter in here the stylist insisted that my daughter's shampoo and blow dry (no hair cut) was $34.95!!! What?? I could have brought her to a proper hair salon in Lexington center for a real hair cut that lasted more than 15 minutes. read more

There is a lot of turnover in the staff, so you are taking a chance, but our whole family has very simple hairstyles, so they really can't screw them up (well, I guess they could, but they haven't...yet!) Husband went in needing a bit of a trim on the sides of his head and cleaning up his beard, neck a little bit. The hair dresser did not only partially cut the sides, but she failed at making the top even, didn't clean up any stragglers, or cut the beard as requested. (not more than a 20 minutes in the chair) The total cost was 26.xx and honestly, wasn't worth half that.... She didn't care about it. Update from a few days later. The manager contacted me and offered to both fix the cut and then a full refund. My husband had shaved his head by then, but by offering a refund to provide customer service in light of an embarrassing concern was the right business move. We did not take the refund at all, and I appreciate the manager extending the offer. Attention and detail still needs to addressed by each stylist, and a job (no matter the responsibility or pay level) must be treated with respect and done to one's best ability. read more

Horrible experience. I should've known better than to walk into a place blind but I wanted to give them a chance and I needed a wash blow and trim. The woman working on me was not very present and it became clear that she wasn't listening to what I was asking for. The wash was terrible and she didn't get all the conditioner out of my hair and she proceeded to chop up my hair in such a way that now 8 months later it's just getting back to normal. I was way too trusting because by the time I started really paying attention the hair next to my ear was about 1 1/2 inches long when it should've been 3 or 4! And the layers she created were completely uneven. I finally had to tell her I needed to speak to the manager and get someone else to cut my hair. She was visibly angry with me and seemed put out that I wasn't going to continue to let her try and fix something. The person who did cut my hair did the best she could in terms of damage control but eventually I just left. No apology, no nothing. Thank God they didn't try to make me pay for ruining my hair! I often hear that you can buy reviews from people or the competitors create bad reviews... Well this is a real review from a real customer and I seriously recommend you try a different salon. read more

Got a fade here yesterday in a pinch. J seemed to be new but didn't an awesome job! She was admittedly unsure of herself at time but asked for help before she did any cutting. Her manager was there and helped walk her through everything. It was nice to see good training especially because it led to a great cut. I am pleased with the service I have received here. I would have given them 5 stars but didn't only because of the times I went during busy hours when the wait was longer and service was more rushed. These people are total "hacks" in the truest sense of the word. My son (17) just returned from a hair cut they did in preparation for his senior picture. His hair is a mess - it is uneven in the front, they shaved his sideburns so that one half of his head is nearly bald. He is a good looking young man but SuperCuts has managed to make him look very odd. Our only alternative is to take him to a place where the hairdressers seem to care about their work and have all his hair shaved off. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE... You are better off paying a few more dollars to get someone competent. The price has been too high for us. I am disgusted.... read more

Second worst haircut of my life, except for the mullet some idiot left me with in 5th grade. I was silly enough to think the girl could do highlights. I was wrong. Today, I walked into the Supercuts Store in Bedford, MA and immediately met with the Store Manager, Ashley, who was also a stylist. I asked for a Grey Blending plus Hair neck/Side Burn Trim. I have salt and pepper mix of grey in my hair and have had a grey blending in other Supercuts in the prior month, and consistent months before, such as Burlington and Waltham. Ashely immediately said no to what I wanted saying because it was my first time in her store, she did not feel comfortable giving me a grey blending, but a full color, an extra $20, plus according to other stylists would not look good on me. She continued to lie to my face, refusing what I wanted as a paying customer, telling me she didn't want my hair to turn purple, by assessing my hair wrong color with a grey blending. I said to call the Burlington store and they would give you my hair formula. Ashley wanted out back, came back, said my card was missing from the phone call. I left the store, went to Burlington, formula card for a grey blending was quickly found and an excellent service done by Kenya in the Burlington store. STAY AWAY from STORE MANAGER, ASHLEY, FROM BEDFORD, MA store!!! Lies, manipulation, unprofessional service. read more

Simply horrible! They do not pre-book, so I waited for more than 50 minutes for my turn, and finally the hair-dresser who attended me was more keen on selling the products available at the store rather than cutting my hair!! She was in a hurry, did a ridiculous job, applied too many lotions ans sprays on my hair and finally my hair became too oily within ten minutes of leaving the salon. I was very disappointed. At the start, I was told that the charge for wash, cut and blow dry will be 31 pounds but I was finally made to pay 33.65 pounds!! Don't know what the extra 2.65 pounds was charged for!! Probably because I did not buy any of the crap products that the lady was pushing me to buy!! Compensation charge!! First off, I'm a guy who is not that picky about my hair. Tight fade - leave the bangs, taper up the back, same haircut I've had for 20 years. I've went here 3 times. First time was kind of shady. Haircut wasn't the worst but I've had better. And with the kind of haircut I get, it's not rocket science. Second time, I got lucky and it was a good cut. Third time, worst experience I've ever had in a salon/barber. This girl just seemed angry from the get go. Long story short, this girl ended up telling me it was not possible to do a fade for me. And then got even more angry when I tried to innocently point out that there was a clear line between short hair and long hair. So by this time, I'm in damage control mode. How do I get myself out of this situation without having the local police called? And then she was done. I ended up getting a high crooked fade that wasn't a clear fade. And I was like ok, guess I don't need to make any MORE suggestions. Time to handle this with as much care, so I don't get stabbed out in the parking lot. Once this nightmare was over, it came time to pay. I was paying with a credit card and instead of being allowed to tip with discretion, she asked me in front of everyone how much I was going to leave for the tip. It's a not so subtle 'strong arm tactic' to have customers leave more for a tip since their being called out in public. For a $16 haircut, I ended up leaving $2. To be honest, I wouldn't have left that much under normal circumstances. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. For your peace of mind, the quality of your haircut, and more importantly your pocketbook - because I now have to pay again to get this fixed at another location since Supercuts wont honor this experience since this particular location is a franchise. read more

I'm so angry and disgusted with the staff st supercuts they are very rude and awful people to be served by! I'm a student and had wanted highlights and a cut for ages so I had asked them in the weekend what they would charge me with my student discount, to be told by 2 members of staff there that I would get all I wanted for £47 (this was the best price I had been offered while asking around different places)... So I was thrilled! They told me that my student discount would be valid Monday-Thursday and I should come in before 2pm so they could fit what I needed in before closing time. As it was my 18th birthday I had taken time off school and gone to supercuts that Monday...only to find the manager there saying that what BOTH the workers told me was incorrect and my student discount wasn't included and I had to pay the full price of £66...I'm a student and had only got £47 that I was 'meant' to have. The most disgusting thing was the manager stood there with the member of staff that had told me it was going to be £47 and the both tried making excuses up. I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to getting my hair done on my birthday. The manager sent me away with the lovely comment 'well if you want it done pay £66'... No compensation for the time I wasted getting there and the disappointment of looking forward to it... The staff did not care about the mistake THEY MADE! I recommend anyone looking for a great service and great cut to AVOID supercuts. read more
