    Nice people working here. But they weren't able to accommodate my appointment time. I've been here a few times and some of the times, I had a newbie with newbie result. Another time, they didn't exactly follow my request. Price went up recently so I would really recommend this place anymore.

    TL;DR Most humiliating haircut of my life, stylist almost pulled half my hair out, the online scheduling system offers appointment slots when the stylist isn't really available, NEVER AGAIN. I had an appointment scheduled with Vince, based on other people saying positive things about him, but a couple of hours before my appointment the salon called to say he was leaving earlier than my appointment time, and I'd have to come in an hour early to see him. I had never been there, so I wasn't necessarily super attached to seeing him specifically, and agreed to see whoever was available. The stylist I did see (whose name I don't remember) was HORRIBLE. She had no idea what she was doing, and was clearly in a bad mood and didn't want to deal with my hair. She got frustrated with my hair tangling when she combed it upward to cut it (which she herself acknowledged happens all the time, though for some reason no other stylist I've ever seen has tangled my hair so much), so she'd just painfully yank against the knots (practically pulling the hair out of my head, and making the knots worse instead of working them out properly), and when she got tired of dealing with the knot, would just CUT IT OUT OF MY HAIR. The result can be seen in the photos - instead of giving me the layered cut I asked for (shown in the pic that actually looks good, which is what I showed her before she did the cut), she just cut one big layer shorter than the longer part on the bottom, like a long hair equivalent of a bowl cut - the hair cut into two sections of exactly two different lengths. You can see in the pics what it looked like after her hack job. Plus my whole scalp felt like it was badly sunburned by the time I left as a result of all the brutal yanking at my roots - I'm sure she pulled quite a bit of my hair clean out of my head. She clearly despises her job. She didn't even let me look at the back, she just pushed all the strands forward onto my shoulders, muttered "purdy", and then walked over to the cash register at the front. I of course followed, because it would be fruitless to ask someone so incompetent to fix the mess she'd made, though in hindsight I should have refused to pay a penny for this nightmare, and instead should have demanded that THEY pay for me to have a real stylist fix it. I'm completely mortified. I'm starting a new job next week, and in addition to this horror show being the first impression I'll make on my new colleagues (who I've only met over Zoom so far), they're going to take my picture on the first day and publish it to their website, where it will stay for all the years I work there! I'm so humiliated. I tried to fix the cut myself (even though I have zero cosmetology training), and it does look a little better now, but still pretty horrific, and I had to lose a lot of the length I had wanted to keep (and spent soooo long growing out!) in order to curve out the abrupt gap between the length of the longer part and the shorter part of the hair. I tipped the stylist $5 because I tip everyone as a matter of principle, but I will NEVER set foot in this place again. Side note, I left basically this same review on a certain other website that also offers email and maps and so on, and within minutes after posting to the site, it had disappeared - clearly the owner is flagging negative reviews as spam in order to conceal the salon's horrible work from prospective customers. Absolutely shameful.

    Yes we can work with any hair texture. Yes a picture is great so that way we know exactly what you want. We do not do appointments but I highly recommend you make a reservation the same day using the app or checking in online.

The hair cut was between $80-$100 (can't remember exactly because I tipped) and it was not worth the price considering it was not a DevaCut. My hair has been splitting all the way up the shaft since this haircut, splitting so bad in ways my hair has never split before. There were also a couple strands that were randomly two inches longer than the rest of my hair in the back?? Again because she wasn't really looking, taking the time to section or check if she was cutting evenly. I do not recommend this place.

Feeling confident I went back to have her dye my hair. I had texted her the exact color and toner my hairdresser used. I explained that the highlights were always toned down to give it dimension but she insisted it would be all one color. She fried my highlights by putting me under a hairdryer in foils and whatever toner she supposedly used left me with ugly brassy damaged highlights. I used XMONDO color at home (along with a strong healing conditioner) until I could make it back to Sacramento.

    I didn't have a "negative" service at this salon but it was "mediocre" at best, especially for the…read morecost. This salon is easily $100-$125 more expensive just because of the area it's in, keep that in mind. Overall, I would give my hair a 6 out of 10 and my experience a 4 out of 10. I got a partial "balayage" and hair cut, and at this point I know that some salons don't do actual hair painting, it's basically sporadically placed color, and while the color itself is fine, I don't anticipate this growing out as well as it has other times I've gotten my hair done - I can tell because I've been getting my hair done for 20+ years at this point so that's a little unfortunate. But aside from this, I would have appreciated if she let me know she was charging me for more color - other salons haven't done this as often, but they do let me know when they do. Even with full "balayage" at other places, I haven't always been charged for more color so this was unexpected. Even if she just gave me a heads up though, I would have appreciated it. The haircut was very basic and simple even though I asked for long layers. The blow dry was also "okay" - I ended up going home and adding more volume into it myself. Most importantly though - the stylist was not engaging at all. I'm a new customer, she didn't ask anything about me. Made no effort to put in conversation with me. It is so unlike any experience I've had at a hair salon. I even asked her questions to get the ball rolling and there was barely anything back. 3-4 hours in a salon chair is a long time for such lack of conversation, it's very disappointing. Like I said - my experience wasn't "bad" or "horrible" but I am not going back and I would not recommend the salon.
