My usual stylist was booked out for a week and I needed a haircut, so I decided to try somewhere…read morenew. Let me just say -- lesson learned. I called and got an opening for the next day. I was told the haircut would be $60, so I booked it. When I arrived, I wasn't even sure I was at the right place because the business name didn't match. Turns out it's just a bunch of stylists renting chairs and advertising under their own names. The space itself is a weird little hole in the wall -- not inviting at all. The door was locked when I got there, and my stylist was nowhere to be found, so another customer -- still in a robe with product in her hair -- had to get up and unlock the front door for me. That set the tone for the rest of the visit. I tried to communicate what I wanted since it was my first time, but my stylist seemed far more interested in talking than listening, so I eventually just let her do her thing. Then we moved to the shampoo station, and the chair was absurdly small and uncomfortable. I mentioned it, and she just chuckled and said, "Yeah, it is pretty small." In the middle of washing my hair, she asked me, "Isn't this relaxing?" -- after I had just told her the chair was uncomfortable. Fluorescent lights blaring overhead, people chatting at full volume in a tiny space, and the world's smallest chair... relaxing is not the word I'd use. I just nodded so I didn't have to answer. Then, while still rinsing my hair, she asked if I wanted styling. I was confused and asked what she meant. She explained that styling would be an additional $60 and would require washing my hair twice. I declined -- I wasn't looking for rollers or anything like that, just a basic cut. We finished up, went back to the chair, and she said she'd dry my hair so I could see the cut better. She roughly dried it, left it still damp, and the haircut looked like something straight out of the early 2000s. At that point, I just wanted to leave. Before I could even stand up, she asked if I had Zelle. I said yes, but reminded her I was told they take credit cards. She said they do, but there'd be a fee and she'd prefer Zelle. I just paid it and got out of there. I walked out into the cold January air with damp hair and ended up with a headache. When I got home, my husband asked me if it was raining outside because of how my hair looked. I just blow-dried it myself and accepted that this was a reminder: make the appointment with the stylist you trust and know that they are doing, even if you have to wait.

I didn't feel welcomed at all. I had forgotten my wallet and needed to pay the deposit another way, so she offered to send me a payment link. I stood there waiting and mentioned I hadn't received it yet because I wanted to secure the appointment. Her response was, "Yeah, I'm doing it right now, you'll get it," but the tone came across very condescending and dismissive. I went home expecting the link shortly after, and now over 24 hours later, I still never received anything. Thankfully, I had a backup salon and was able to book elsewhere. It's disappointing because I genuinely enjoyed my previous visits and had spoken highly of this place before, but customer service and communication really matter.

For context, my hair is only shoulder-length, and I paid $350 including tip. The appointment lasted from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, so I was there for about 4 hours. Given the time, cost, and expectations, I was really hoping for a result close to the reference I provided. Unfortunately, the outcome did not match the style I wanted at all. The overall look, shape, and finish were quite different, and it wasn't what I had discussed beforehand. I understand that results can vary depending on hair condition and other factors, but I do think there should have been clearer communication if the style I wanted wasn't achievable with my hair length. Overall, I'm disappointed with the result, especially considering the time and cost involved.

When I brought it up, I was told I should have specifically asked for gray coverage, which should be part of a basic consultation or at minimum asking the client if this is something they want. I also had uneven, patchy highlights. I returned the next day for a fix, requested a different stylist, and was denied. They said the same person could fix it all they needed to do was tone it down a bit, and cover the greys The "correction" resulted in my hair being taken darker overall, with the highlights essentially gone. I paid for highlights and left with dark hair. They told me eventually it should lighten down but I'm not seeing any improvement it's still really dark. To make matters worse I also left with visible dye on my forehead something I wouldn't expect after paying this price at a salon. Very disappointing experience and not one I would recommend I honestly wanted to cry. I really would have expected a partial refund or a proper correction by a more experienced stylist.

I've been a regular for the past 3 years and today was my last haircut at this place. I always call ahead and make an appointment (which I did), when I got to the place one of the ladies checked me in asking my name and phone number, I also told her that I had a reservation. She couldn't find me but put me in the list, then an Asian lady (maybe the Manager) said he's on the list and they got in a bit of an argument. They told me I was next. I sat down and next thing I see is a person that arrived after me without appointment getting called for a haircut. I got up and asked what happened, they apologized and said don't worry you will be next. Again I saw them chatting about it. When it finally was my turn they called me and all three ladies apologized and said your haircut will be complimentary. The lady that did my haircut seemed frustrated about this Asian coworker who went to a room with the other coworker and supposedly started blaming my barber for not checking me in properly. After getting my haircut, I am walking out saying thank you, my barber goes hey sir it's $31 dollars. I couldn't believe it, I said to myself well, this is it. I paid and the barber even asked if I wanted to tip her? I was like, no sorry, not at this time. Really disappointed with the whole experience, not to mention that their prices went up almost as those pro barbers down in Roscoe and Tampa. Dumped this Terrible Supercuts this week No respect for appointments whatsoever, just BS and simply lies and not just that, they don't even apologize or attempt to make it up to you Extremely rude and disrespectful personnel...and they are all women so you would expect them to be nicer and more honest or decent somehow with the customers but on the contrary it's just lies and no understanding for what an appointment actually means! This sh*thole charge $36 for haircut and shampoo that you will either wait on over an hour or be stood up despite having an appointment but it is a BIG Mess at this Northridge SuperSLOWcuts! Luckily, the nearby salon 'copycutters' 100 times better, more clean and reliable, next to Target charge $1 less but NO WAIT, appointments mean appointments not bullsh*t as @ SuperCuts Northridge. @ CopyCutters way nicer hairstylists and ones that take their time and cut hair like pros. Not those amateurs here @ Super'Slow'Cuts Northridge! Do Not Go Here IF you respect and value yourself and your time. Plus if you want a better haircut definitely not here! And usually they tend to overcharge...You ask for a $7 basic shampoo and without your knowledge or permission they come later after wash and claim that they brushed or rubbed your head so it's $14-15 and not $7 - Super'Scam'Cuts now! It was a last minute appointment. I called to schedule haircut with Claire. She took me in last appointment on Saturday, did not rush me at all. The shampoo that they use is a bit too strong on the smell " tea tree " but maybe its just me. Claire did excellent job on my blunt bob cut, I could not ask for more. She was very quiet and that a PLUS, sometimes you do not wanna talk after long day at work, and you don't want to have little talks and be chatty just to be polite. To me this was perfect! I will be returning for sure. And by the way, they text to you this promotion where you get discounts after so many haircuts. Great deal! read more
