Karissa is the only stylist I've had who truly understands how to work with my thick hair. She blends layers flawlessly, listens to what I want, and somehow makes my hair feel lighter & healthier without sacrificing length. I always leave feeling confident and refreshed. If you've struggled to find someone who gets thick hair & know how to do layers right, she's the one!! "Butchered" is the only way to describe my experience. I came in for a trim and left with a high and tight - and I am not in the military, nor do I wish to look like a man. I wear glasses and so could not see what the stylist was doing while she was working, but it was in the neighborhood of, "not listening to me and just running amok." Never. Again. Not only is it inSANEly too short, the ends aren't even! I can't leave the house looking like this - hats and headscarves for the next several months. We had the most shocking experience here. We went to get my 16 yr olds hair cut and curled and walked out an hour later having paid $120!! I couldn't believe it. She billed me $5 for a wash, $26 for cut and $75 for curling it - unbelievable! Wish we hadn't threw in a tip but I didn't know what I was being charged. This is Supercuts people - not Aveda!! My 20 minute hair cut was barely a hair cut. Kristin snipped a little hair here and there but it looked the same as I walked in even after "cutting" two inches. She had no suggestions and didn't really ask me any questions. I told her what I wanted and I expected her to work her magic while I napped. I went to Maria for styling services. I made an appointment, was in and out of there. Hair was in all curls and lasted throughout the entire day/evening. Cost for styling was affordable. I will definitely be back to get my hair styled before events. Maria also has been cutting my hair this year and I love her work. I pay $10 extra for blow dry, but it is worth it especially with short hair to make sure the cut it perfect. read more

I asked for aline bob cut. When the lady was done she hand me the mirror and when I checked it I told her that my hair in the front are not even. It was supposed to be longer in the front but some of my hair in the front are shorter so I told her that and her answer was "ohh it was just your baby hair." I wish I had heeded the warnings that fellow Yelpers shared about this location. $66 + tip for three haircuts that were all uneven and, frankly, not what I'd hoped for. The website advertised discount haircuts for children under 12, but this location did not offer that option. Yes, I should have read the fine print, but whatever. My daughter's "trim" turned into a bob and replicated the long side/short side symptoms from which her home-brewed haircut also suffered. My son's hair had funny tufts over one ear and in the back. My partner's haircut was the only one that seemed professional. In the end, I think I'd be better off giving them haircuts myself as at least I can still go out to dinner afterwards. Anyhoo, I'd recommend staying away unless you need a very basic haircut or have no problem looking like you did it yourself. I was disappointed by the results. Boohoo! read more

I made my appointment on the iOS app for 12:15. When I walked in at 12:14 one of the employees informed me that it would be just a minute. I could see that two employees had just started cutting other men's hair so I knew my stylist wouldn't be one of them. I sat down and waited for 5 minutes and when no other employees appeared from the back, I left. I already did all the scheduling work in the app. I just can't figure out how they can still plan so poorly. Oh, well I've already moved on to an establishment that isn't so overwhelmed with paying customers. As an afterthought, this chain is severely overpriced for what you get. 9 out of 10 haircuts I get Marlboro-smoke impregnated fingers are waving around my face. 9.9 times out of 10 they aren't available when they say they are. read more

This was the worst haircut i've ever had. I'm really not that picky when it comes to my hair (obviously, or else i wouldn't have gone to supercuts in the first place). I get my hair cut only about twice a year, just to trim and maybe touch up some layers. Really not complicated as far as haircuts go. It looks like she just chopped at my hair in random chunks. I asked to have the layers taper down smoothly. Not at all what i got. And it's impossible to tell while you're there because they charge you extra to dry it. I guess you get what you pay for. Next time, I'm definitely going to spend the extra money to get a quality cut. read more

Richelle is great! Love her, love her haircuts. She even introduced me to a product I love and actually use rather than products bought as you cave to the sales pressure. That's another thing, they suggest products to you but then leave it at that. I feel more inclined to buy a product that is suggested and then no longer mentioned than the high pressure sales technique used by many places. There is one girl here who neither my husband or I enjoy getting our hair cut by, so I tend to stay away longer than my locks would like because inevitably she is working and available every time I come in :( read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I already heard bad things about this place but since it's near SDSU and I was in a rush, (I had to be in class in an hour), and because I only wanted my hair evened out (I tried trimming it myself, lol) I decided to take a gamble on this place. Anyway, I walked in and was seated. The lady that cut my hair was nice but once she started combing my hair I knew I had made a mistake by coming here... She yanked on my hair and I had to tell her to be more gentle, and she was. Then, THREE times while cutting my hair she stopped to tend to other customers that walked through the door. Once is ok but three times? Shouldn't there be another person to do that? That made my stay there even longer. When I asked how much it would cost to blow dry my hair (keep in mind my hair is short) she said it'd be another $40-$60. Ridiculous. Anyway, by the time she was done with my hair I was already running late to class so I rushed out with my hair completely wet. Once I got home I noticed that the hair on my right was about an inch longer than the left... She cut it uneven. I ended up cutting my hair again myself! Moral of the story... Don't cut your own hair and pay attention to yelp reviews haha and now I'm going to waste more money at another salon to fix this mess. SMH read more

We recently moved to the neighborhood and I just took my son and daughter for haircuts. My eleven year old son, who has left other establishments crying over not having his wishes followed, just left here with the highest praises for his hairstylist. He showed her a picture of what he wanted and it was exactly what she gave him. She also explained to him what she was doing as she went along and he really appreciated that. My daughter's stylist was awesome too. They both have the nicest haircuts they have ever had in their lives and we are all very happy! The ladies were both wonderful, energetic, and friendly even though I imagine they must have been tired at close to 8PM. We will be back again and again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Well I can't speak for all of the people that work there but I went to get my hair cut because they were one of the only places opened on a Sunday. I showed the young women a photo of the length I wanted and we confirmed that I wanted it shoulder length. The first cut she made I yelled nonono as she cut the back of my hair two inches away from my head. EXTREMELY SHORT. She said that was what I asked for but was not at all. I was originally mad about how short she had cut my hair but then later now that I am really looking at it it is just a bad job done in general. I wanted same length throughout with layers. TL;DR - don't trust their online appointments and they don't care about any inconvenience to you I booked an online appointment and it had an estimated wait time of 25 min., so I thought great, I'll put my toddler down for a nap and run an errand before my appointment. When I showed up 25 min. later they said that 3 walk ins had come in during that time and that my wait would be 25 min from that point. I was confused as this seems to defeat the purpose of their online appointment process and asked what the purpose of the online appointment was - I just got a shoulder shrug in return. Since I had to get back before my child's nap was over and relieve my wife I had to leave. No apology or any kind of acknowledgement of the inconvenience of their process to me. I'm fine with waiting if that's just the policy, but having an online appointment system and then not training staff on it and how to address it's shortcomings causes a lot of frustration and inconvenience to me. Please pick a lane and decide how you want to run your business. In the meantime, I'll be going to the other establishments that know how to use their online check in system (which is nearly every other place that I visit that uses one). read more

I just got my hair cut by Nikki at this Supercuts location near San Diego State University and she did a FABULOUS job on my hair! I have been trying to grow my hair out and had not cut it in about 8 months, so I went for a trim... as always, going to a new person is always kind of scary!
