Feel compelled to leave a 1 star review because I had the absolute worst experience. I wanted to trim my split ends as my hair is growing long. The lady didn't seem to understand my 'please don't cut it too short, keep the original shape', and forced 'a style' on me. She chopped off so much hair that at one point I literally asked her to stop cutting my hair. Her style turned out to be hideous, lucky me that I put my hair up in a bun most of the time. I am never going back to supercuts. This is a great place for guys - a lot of my guy friends go there frequently and their hair come out fine. Just not for gals. I would give this place negative stars if possible. The price for a male haircut at this place is relatively cheap compared to other saloons, but then again, they are actual saloons. Before I made my appointment, I called to confirm this location does the unlimited haircuts. the lady I spoke on the phone with told me yes we have unlimited haircuts. Would you like to make an appointment. I make an appointment for 430. I get there early at 420 and am immediately seated. I tell the lady who cuts my hair I would like a high fade with a bit of the top. she proceeds to start cutting my hair for 4 minutes then leaves to dye someone's beard. she leaves me in the chair without saying anything for 27 minutes. comes back and gives a high zero with no fade. Finsihed the haircut at 5:14. Lady then charges me 27.95 for a haircut which should have been free with the subscription. I understand not all locations have this promotion but I called to firm this before booking. Had I'd known they don't do the unlimited here I would've got else where. Bad hair cut and service. 1 Star for making us wait for the owners family and cutting 4" when 1" was asked for! We visited on a busy Saturday afternoon and waited 1.5 hours. While we waited, the owner showed up with his 2 boys and wife. The whole staff had to cater to them and took them out of sequence, adding the wait time for everyone. Each hairdresser took 30 minutes to cut his boys' hair and longer cutting his, compared to 5-10 minutes for paying customers. To the owner, if you have any business acumen, you should not be taking the hairdressers' time to serve you and your family when there are so many paying customers waiting. The wait list should be transparent to the customers, that is customer service 101. The longer you keep us waiting, the more the transparent the waiting process should be to everyone there. THEN IT GOT WORSE. Hairdressers, you need to go back to school to study geometry, 1 inch means 1 inch, not 3, not 4. My daughter asked for 1 inch to be taken off her long hair. The haridesser cut off 4. She has been in tears ever since. 1.5 hour wait for a 5 mins haircut that is so upsetting, where is your sense of customer service? read more

Blowout incompetence! This is Supercuts, I know, so my expectations were not high, but the nice lady (Gee), didn't even know how to brush hair. That's right--she did not know that you should start at the ends when the hair is tangled. And why was it tangled? Because she 1) didn't bother to brush it before washing it, 2) scrunched it all up when lathering, and 3) towel-dried it too vigorously. Perhaps I should have given her suggestions, but I was curious to see how she was going to do my hair when she kept giving up on brushing and would start drying sections that were still tangled. In the end she used a curling iron on hair that hadn't been fully brushed out. An hour later the misery was finally over and my hair came out barely okay (my husband could have done better). Price Where I used to live I would get great blowouts done in half the time for $35. This was a crappy blowout at Supercuts, not my old Beverly Hills salon, so I about fell over when she told me the price was $55. I wish I had had more bravado and paid what it was actually worth ($20), but once they lowered the price to $45, I tossed them the money and left as quickly as I could. This review is for Kathy. She was great! Ok, and it's for the place itself- which was very neat and clean. I came to see her on a suggestion from someone who regularly visits my work (and always looks amazing). The morning I decided it was the day to do away with the blonde I called over. Kathy said to come right in. She took me over to the chair the second I walked through the door and we went over what I wanted done. And that's where it gets a little tricky because what I wanted definitely wasn't easy. My hair had been lightened to near Platinum status and I wanted to go back to my natural (dirty blonde) color. Sounds easy, right? Not so much! Kathy seemed very knowledgable about what could happen if she went too ashy (my hair would be green!). We chose a deep warm red/browns and lighter brown. My color was going to be somewhere in between. I knew I wasn't going to get a honey blonde on the first shot so I crossed my fingers and let her get started. What I ended up with is a tad darker than what I expected but I still really like it! She also gave me a little trim, being careful not to take too much legnth off- which is a huge pet peeve of mine when it comes to some hair stylists. She also really spent the time drying my hair carefully, which I totally appreicated. I'll be going back soon to continue my process onto becoming dirty blonde. It's actually better to give your hair a break in between processing anyways. Kathy really listens to what you're saying and definitely tries to do exactly that. Hair stylists aren't magicians.. but some are def better able to give you what you want than others. So if you're in the area and need a cut or color, don't be afraid because it's "just a Supercuts" and ask for Kathy! read more

The styling was just rude and the way she was cutting my hair felt like she didn't care how she end up cutting it, it hurt I gotta say, and the result was bad. Pros: Cheap, no reservation needed, short wait time - even on Sat. Cons: The results. I guess there are two problems really: The haircut is really rushed - there was no even hint of trying to aim for results I wanted. Just to cut hair and get me out of the door fast. They succeeded - it took less than 15 minutes. The other problem was communications: while I was quite clear on what I wanted - interrupting the work and asking again about it, it seems that my requests were largely ignored. I even showed a picture of myself with decently cut hair. Styling was not even remotely like on the picture. I've been here twice and my hair cut was done by two different individuals, each time. Although I wasn't exactly happy with the stylists here, I never lodged a complaint or even wrote a bad review. But, my friend who's a regular here went in for a haircut yesterday and came back with cuts on his neck. Apparently, the woman who did his cut was new. She cut his hair way too short and when she couldn't figure out how much exactly to trim, called in her colleague and that's when the other woman pointed out that the device she used on my friend was an old trimmer that was not supposed to be used at all. What the hell?!?! The newbie then got a proper trimmer and finished the haircut. My friend, being the nice guy he always is, did not go back to complain. But his neck was burning when he got home and when I checked, saw several cuts on the nape of his neck. What the heck is wrong with you. Supercuts?! Oh yeah, I've experienced better. The personnel is very polite. No appointment is needed - that is true. But firstly they have missed the hair-dye - so I was asked to come next week. Secondly, they made me a hair-cut - just in five minutes. You know, a men's cut takes a longer time! Seriously! I have long, thick hair, at least I need a tapering and guess the salon master should offer me something like that, especially since she sees the edges of my current cut. Nope - just five minutes of a very straight cut. I suppose anyone could do the same cut with usual scissors((( And finally, I was released with wet hair. With that said ladies and gents I present to you the rivermark supercuts inside the rivermark plaza in Santa Clara near by the new 49ers stadium. I've been going here for about 2yrs now and mind you I live about 30 minutes away. Crazy right? Long story short I used to work in the area and I needed a hair cut badly. Walked into my neighborhood supercuts and I've never left since. The whole staff is super friendly and talkative, you kind of get that feeling like you're actually in a barber shop like the ice cube movie. Now I've read some of the previous reviews for the place and let me just say you people are a bunch of idiots. What do you expect, you're not walking into some European salon! SMH (shaking my head) it's a supercuts do I need to say more? Oh and another tip don't be a D bag, it's common sense people just be real at this place and you'll receive the type of service that I have experienced. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because when it gets crazy busy the receptionist tends to be a bit cranky. Although FYI to all of you engineers who live near the area..you guys make A LOT of money what the F are you doing getting your haircut at a supercuts? This review is for the ladies: Not too shabby!!!! I'm hella leery of going to any place called SUPER or CUTS in the name...however, my hair was getting TOO long and I'm too cheap to get a digital perm...so option no. 2 - chop it off!!! I went during my lunch. The cool thing is that you can call to get on a "waiting list". The bad thing is you have to be there within the hour. The good thing is that you don't have to wait like the other schmucks! Popped in and saw that all of the stylists were Asian. SCORE! Who knows how to cut Asian hair better than an Asian?! Anyhoo, I asked to get 4 inches off and I believe it came out to 6 instead? But the cut was exactly what I wanted: slightly blunt, length still there, a very minimal layering technique, and some bangs. All for $15?!? The stylist had to walk away twice to book appointments. Apparently she had a 1:30 but since 1:30 was late, she took me in. Her window of waiting is less than 10 minutes folks! Wowsers, but 1:30 was okay in becoming 4:00 so happily I got my cut finished. Thank you Mindy C. - you hooked up a very nice cut that's low-profile for a country bumpkin! Not only that, when you dropped your wide-tooth comb, I was pleasantly surprised that you did not pick it back up and used it, but rather grab another one from your drawer. Ask who is cutting your hair before arriving... you may want to avoid some of their staff... Go for Katie if you enjoy to sit in silence and love to wonder how your hair cut will turn out. You can literally count how many words she will use during your entire visit. She was extremely curt. When asked for a "trim" on the top, she had given a short example of how much she intended to cut off by "gripping" a lock of hair by about two inches.... There was a lot more than two inches cut off. This had to have been one of the quickest hair cuts I have ever had. I have to wonder... would the lawn mower have done better a job ? It definitely would have been A LOT cheaper and most likely would not have included the guilt trip over tipping.... read more

All 3 stars are because of the price, it's only about $19 for a haircut. Luckily I have really long hair so it's not the biggest deal if it's not cut exactly way I like it. I would never play roulette with hairdressers at Supercuts if I had shorter hair. Right off the bat, the girl cutting my hair interrupted me before I finished any of my sentences- yet she didn't seem to understand what I was saying in the first place. Maybe there was a bit of a language barrier, but I just felt like she didn't try at all to listen or understand. I said in as many ways as I could think of that I like well-blended, long layers and for my hair to look lived in (I must have said and motioned "point cut" about 10 times) rather than choppy or squared. She did ok on the long layers although they aren't as blended as I like. I'm not sure why she was so against doing any point cutting. My hair is really thick, so the base length is as straight across as Darth Vader's helmet. The biggest deal to me was that I also tried to request that the front around my face be left longer (When getting cheap haircuts, I never go for the "face-framing" stuff, it always just ends up looking too short and too sparse). There are two sparse chunks on the sides of my face that are 3 inches shorter than the rest of my hair, definitely not a soft transition! Lastly, the same girl who cut my hair rang me up. Instead of handing me the pen and receipt, she asked me how much of a tip I wanted to leave and wrote it in herself. That was just weird. read more

I started using Supercuts again, in particular this one, after a 10-year-or-so hiatus. Walk in, leave your name on the sign-in sheet, and then settle in...it might be a long day. Bring work or reading material so you don't have to pass the time reading 4-month-old magazines. You will inevitably get stuck behind some Rivermark mom getting haircuts for all 5 of her kids, and someone who slows everything down with ridiculously detailed requests ("no, we're not done, can you shave a map of the Bay Area into my head?"). Note to those people...if you want $100-salon-type service, you might want to go to an actual salon. And I don't remember Supercuts ever being so pushy about hawking their expensive shampoos and conditioners. A little desperate in these recessionary times? At least the staff at this particular Supercuts is nice and they do a reasonably good job. read more

Should have possibility of negative starts I would. Went first and last time yesterday. Requested a blow dry showed a picture even of what I want - simple straight hair with some volume - as my hairdresser does that on me all the time in 20 minutes! It come out she only blow dry my hair, does not know how to use a brush to blow dry and straighten a hair. I almost had to teach her then I just gave up and want to leave that place. Not there to teach her how to blow dry. Just ridiculous. My hair is not straight but even I can straighten my hair alone at home very easily. Their hair dresser cannot. All asian girls working there I bet they only know how to blow dry straight hair as they have... Well then even I can do that... Dont go there! Please dont do that to you hair, time and money. Supercuts are usually hit or miss, but I'm so glad I've found Kloe, she's an expert at her craft. Her patience, her personality, charm, and hairstyle suggestions are top notch. I won't let anyone else touch my hair except her. I trust whatever she recommends as she know my style and what hairstyle fits my facial features. I have no doubt I look more handsome after every appointment with her. Get the tea tree scalp massage shampoo, oh my god what an excellent way to unwind after a stressful day at work. I used to go to another spot to get my hair chopped up, but the person that used to cut my hair ended up moving out of state. One day, I happened to ask a buddy of mine who cuts his hair and he said, "Kathy at Supercuts at Rivermark." I'll be honest, Supercuts didn't really have that good of a reputation back in the day. But since I trust my buddy's word, I thought I would give it a go. Well, that was about 4 years ago and I'm still going there once (My hair grows fast) a week. A while back, they introduced this shampoo and scalp massage called, "Tea Tree." If you enjoy scalp massages, I highly recommend it. I only go to Kathy for my haircuts and Tea Tree. She is efficient and she pays attention to the details. The rest of the staff is friendly but I haven't had them cut my hair, so I can't really comment further. read more

Made an appointment well in advance using the supercuts app which said there was a "0" minute wait. Showed up about 5 minutes before my appointment time and was told there will be AT LEAST a 35 minute wait since they had several walk-ins. So, it seems they give priority to walk-ins over people who actually want to go to this location and plan ahead. This is ridiculous and inexcusable. A 5 or 10 minute wait because the stylist is running a little behind is understandable, but having walk-ins put in front of you is not! read more
