**Edit-- I believe her name is Karin. She has done this before at Great Clips too. DO NOT LET HER NEAR YOUR HAIR** Just got THE WORST haircut of my life. I asked for the same cut woman cutting my hair had. She proceeded to shave my head to crown with a 1! I had asked for a light fade! I had long hair and asked to have length on top and sides. She cut my top hair down to about 3 inches. I was so appalled that I basically left my body during the cut. I bawled the whole way home. I called the store to speak with her and let her know how upsetting it was that she didn't listen to me. She wouldn't even let me talk. She just kept repeating that I had said a 1 is ok-- which I was expecting on the lower 2" of my head-- NOT MY ENTIRE HEAD! I ordered a bunch of wigs because I can't wear a hat for the next four months until my hair grows out. I am so upset. Do not go there and expect professional haircuts. The worst. Not only is it dingy inside, but they don't even have magazines. Then, she asked me if I brought a photo??? It's like they're too cheap to provide their own tools of the trade... was I supposed to bring my own scissors too? The 'stylist' looked like she hadn't washed or combed her hair for at least 2 weeks. Seriously, how am I supposed to trust my hair to someone that doesn't care for their own? Honestly, I'm thinking they just grabbed a few people off the street to 'work' for the day. Turns out I was skeptical for good reason. Most of the water she sprayed went straight into my eyes instead of my hair. It was $38 for a less than 10-minute haircut. It used to be about $23. Her demeanor was fine but it's about the cut and that was way less than stellar. There are lots of places I've been for the same price that are much better. Happy to pay more for a better environment, a magazine or two, a real cut and a stylist that I can trust... perhaps even buy some products from. What happened to professionalism? read more

First time I went and it will be my last. I asked for a high fade with a scissor cut on top and left with this. I asked the manager to help me fix it, and all she did was make my hair shorter and didn't fade out the top. I'll just let the picture do the rest of the talking. read more

I have happily gone here quite a few times and always had great experiences. I usually call in and ask for appointments. Never any issue with doing this method. I had just scheduled an appointment via phone just now for 1pm tomorrow, but I will not be going to it now after careful thought. The stylist who answered the phone was rude, condescending, acted like it was an inconvenience for him to even answer the phone, and he complained to me that I interrupted his work by calling. I'm pretty skeptical at how good my SO's cut was. Still kinda can't believe it. We came in on a random Monday night, happy to hear they were open until 9. Super convenient. It was one of the few places open til late, and we were in a rush, leaving for vacation in a few days. The crucial window for a haircut to set in. Or so we thought. He has gorgeous hair, with medium Asian curls and we've had a lot of people mess up his cut simply because his hair isn't the most straightforward. (pun intended). We usually bring a picture of him a week after his cut (that's when it grows in really nicely and looks awesome) but our old salon used to cut it a bit too short without too much regard to his curlies. (Which we realized after this Supercuts experience). I'm still pretty shocked that we've gotten a cut as great as this from an unassuming supercuts over some other swanky salons we've been to. He came out looking just like the picture we asked for. Like, it looked exactly like the picture. We actually brought in two different pictures and the stylist was able to tell us, "well, these are actually different lengths here, here, and here so which one do you want?" I've been going here over 10 years and always had good experiences until Sunday 10/9/22, when a young man did my hair and it was quite bad. He started by hacking at my head with the razor, banging into my scalp continually as he went along. I've never experienced that. I was worried I might lose some flesh. I noticed that back was a bit uneven but didn't make much of it, partly because I couldn't see well without my glasses. When I got home and inspected closely I was shocked how bad it actually was. The right side had patches and was cut at at abrupt v-angle, in an uneven line. The left side was completely different--square. (I then recalled they stylist said he was tired and a bit out of it.) My family members noticed immediately and we all had a good laugh. Fortunately I decided to go back the next day (10/10/22). The two staff members (Gina and Steven?) were very kind and professional and did not hesitate to fit me. Yesterday I was pretty upset and ready to give a one-star review. However, that was a one time event for me and would be unfair to the rest of the staff. Businesses should be given the opportunity to rectify a mistake and on that score they did great. My father has been going to super cuts in Spokane for the last 2 years pre covid. He usually needs a simple haircut. He came to Seattle and went to this location. I think this will be the first and the last time my father will go to Supercuts. The haircut was extremely bad. I think I can do a better haircut looking at a youtube tutorial than the one he got here. The person literally butchered his hair. He took off a lot of volume and it was uneven from all sides. I used the website To book an appointment and went in at the appointed time. There were three stylists. One looked surprised and fumbled with the web interface. One stylist was busy looking at her phone, the third looked sort of prepared. The greeter handled me off to that one. As I started to sit, she darted back to me and said something about she had a client coming so she couldn't see me. I said I didn't know who I was there to see, it was fine. I should have known it wouldn't go well when it was a woman with long hair and conservative clothes (sweater and slacks). For context, I am middle aged, non-binary, and the top of my hair is colored bright purple. I asked for a #1 clipper on the sides and a trim on top. She argued that a 1 was too short and she said she was starting with a 2. I had to be firm and insist. I then got the worst haircut in my life. The fading was choppy, she left the cowlick I asked to be cut off, and she didn't touch my top or bangs. I paid, tipped ( I know she was terrible, but they make crap so...) and left. when i came here i showed the lady who was cutting my hair multiple pictures for reference and i was getting layers but she acted like she understood it really well but when she cut my hair i noticed that she was cutting the top layer way to short and at that point there was nothing i could do about it she didnt really even follow the pictures i showed her either she also made my hair extremely uneven and one side is a lot shorter then the other their haircuts cost $27 each and i think that for the way they their skills and customer service are that is way to much to pay i am extremely unsatisfied i would never go there again read more

I usually have good experiences with super cuts, however this location was not what I expected. The woman cutting my hair was very rough and took off much more than I was comfortable with without asking me first. She said she understood but I've used the exact same description for what I like at other hair salons before and this came out completely different. Back when I lived a little bit closer to Northgate I used to come here once every six weeks or so for a haircut. Since six years is a long time, I'm going to break out this review in a series of stories. - One of the reasons I started going here was because they had a stylist named Kim. She was probably in her mid to late 40's and was very quiet, somewhat frail with very tiny fingers. Other stylists tried to talk to her and she would smile but act very shy. She was adorable, and my roommate at the time and I developed a schoolkid crush on her for still being adorable into her 40's. She left one day. It made this place worse. - For a few months they employed a young woman whose name I think was also Kim. She was hyper-talkative, doing whatever she could to try to engage in conversation. One day she asked me what I was studying at UW. I told her I was studying psychology. She was under the impression that psychology was the study of ESP (or, as she called it, "studying psychic"). So for the next 3 or 4 times I came in, she would ask me if I was able to read her mind. Then she'd laugh at me. - One lady here was really nice. She was usually in a good mood, and tended to do a pretty good job cutting my hair short. The only problem was that she had very thick fingers, so she was unable to cut hair below like 3 quarters of an inch without using a buzzer. So any time she was my stylist I had to get a buzz cut. - Every single front desk girl here over the course of six years smoked and talked on the phone throughout her entire shift. Every single one. They also tended to act like entitled racists, talking down to the largely immigrant hair cutters. - There was a short, somewhat chubby lady that worked here that over the last two years was there every single time I came, even when it appeared everyone else had left. She spoke very little English and cut hair like she was in a big hurry. One day she was using the clippers and she made a cut in the top of my ear. It started to bleed, and she thought I didn't notice, so she went and grabbed a tissue and then kept it between her fingers as she kept buzzing. Then when she thought I wasn't looking she would quickly place the tissue on top of the wound to soak up the blood, then hide the tissue again so I "couldn't see it" and then soak up the blood again a few seconds later. As she was cleaning me up she pretended she was drying my head with the towel she stuck it on top of the cut and fake dried my hair before telling me I could go. read more

My hairstylist told me how much she understood curly hair. She cut my hair to the length I like when it was wet. When it's dry, it looks like a badger curled up on top of my head. I HATE my hair! Went to get my hair fixed after a "let the boyfriend trim the ends" moment of weakness. Pros: No wait, got almost what I wanted done and the price was right! I wanted my fringe a little shorter and she did a nice job of it! Negs: The Supercuts in CA normally spray your hair down with water before doing any cutting, and their supplies are soaked/rinsed between customers. This isn't the case at this location. A little bit of my hair fell in my face and rather than just use the blow dryer or hand me a tissue, the hair dresser wiped my face...with a towel covered in the guy before me's grey hair. I came here to get my hair cut last week, and I have to say I wasn't impressed. I explained to the girl what I wanted, and when it was about half way done, it was already shorter than I had asked for. I had also asked for layers, but the ends of it were uneven. I ended up going home and redoing the ends so that it was the same length on both sides. If you need a quick trim, sure, I'd go here. But for a major 'do, save up and go somewhere else. read more

Having moved to Seattle from Los Angeles half a year ago, there are always some things I love and some things I hate. For starters, beer is cheaper in Seattle. What I don't get, however, is why a haircut at Supercuts is $17 here compared to $14 at home. 21% more doesn't quite make sense to me considering it's a chain and the cost of living in Seattle can't be that much higher, but if that's how it is and I'll accept it. Now that I got that out, the experience here was good overall. They only take same-day appointments, so I called a few hours ahead and got a 3pm appointment. Upon arriving there around 3pm, I was promptly seated at a haircutting station (skipping 4 other people; seriously, get an appointment if you want to save time) and the trimming began. I don't remember the hairdresser's name since she didn't have a name tag, but she did a good job on my hair and it looked pretty much how I envisioned it to be at the end. I will probably be coming back 2 haircuts from now....but first, my $12 haircut when I go back home for winter break :) read more

Definitely a case of getting what you pay for. The haircuts are dirt cheap $22 If you skip washing and blowdrying, compared to like $50 I would probably pay elsewhere. I tend to stay away from these kinds of places because it's corporate and probably doesn't pay people enough to give a shit but it was less than than minutes from me so decided to give it a shot. Guy "finished" in less than 15-20 minutes. I have really long, thick hair almost to my waist, even just a trim is easily a half hour affair if not longer. On top of that, I asked for layers. She started taking the gown off me and showed me my hair and sure enough, I still had split ends. I asked him to touch that up and decided to forget the layers I had asked for. I also asked him to trim up my side bang and showed him where I wanted it like three times and he kept trying to leave it longer with a big old tail sticking out. I'm overall disappointed because I did show him a photo of the light layers I wanted (little snippets throughout the hair) and what I got was basically a blunt cut with a piece on either side of my head slightly shorter by a half inch or so. I'm giving two stars because in total with tip it was only $32 and I'm not like ashamed to leave the house or anything. read more

The staff need some serious disciplinary measures from management. They waltz around and act like you're imposing on their free time while they "clean up their stations" between customers. I waited 15 minutes for a chair that was "available" and was still not seated, so I walked out. This Supercuts franchise should be shut down, it gives the chain a bad name. I'll never go back. NB: I think something has changed for the worse in the past few months, this used to be a good, efficient operation, but no more. Boycott this place! read more

I went in with a printout of several photos of the exact haircut I wanted--and have been getting for years with no issues--a choppy layered style. I told the stylist I wanted that haircut, but I wanted it chin-length, instead of the shoulder-length shown in the photos. I got a pixie cut. All my wonderful, cherry-red wavy hair ended up on the salon floor. The hair I have been carefully color-treating to the perfect shade and cultivating for years, gone. By the time I realized what was happening (when he pulled out the clippers and started shaving the lower part of the back of my neck), the back was already done, so I had to let him finish. I thought he was just cutting the layers, not cropping the back of my head to an inch long. Not only that, but he cut some of the hair on the crown of my head at my cowlick LESS than an inch long, so it sticks straight up on top of my head and there's nothing I can do about it. The small hairs in front of each ear are a different length by almost an inch, so on one side I can put it behind my ear, but on the other side it's too short. I didn't want to make a scene in front of my daughter (who had chosen to get a pixie cut herself), so I paid the bill and got out of there. I spent the next 2 days crying every time I looked in the mirror. It's so short that I feel the need to femme it up a lot more than I'd like, to hopefully avoid people thinking I'm trans and harassing me when I go into public restrooms. I am now forced to wait for my hair to grow back out, through all the awkward in-between stages, for however long it is going to take to get back to where I started. I went to get a very basic trim...to get off the split ends from going far too long in between cuts. The stylist was friendly, warm, but not invasive or overly talkative. She checked to make sure of what I wanted before she started snipping, and checked in with me a couple times along the way to make sure she was doing what I wanted. It was empty when I arrived (it was about 8pm) so I can't speak for how things are when it is busy. I also got the most basic trim ever, so I can't speak for other services. I'm used to a more professional hairdresser but I went here because I am a poor graduate student. It was alright. $16 for a basic trim. read more
