We spoke with Chris, the president of the company, during our initial meeting where he explained everything we needed to know and what to expect from the proposed system. I had met with a couple other installers as well, and the specs of the pitch are basically the same with the regard the benefits of having solar power. What I appreciated about Chris and SunBlue was that he never was overly pushy, nor using "salesman" type tactics, and truly felt like he just wanted to make sure we had all the information we needed for the decision. They were also willing to work with us on the price and configuration as well. Also, all installers present a similar cost-saving estimate, but there's sometimes sleight-of-hand with the values they populate for ConEd energy rates and expected increases. SunBlue's estimates for these numbers seems like the most reasonable and comparable to our actual bills. After we signed the agreement with them, the process could not have been more seamless. SunBlue took care of everything you'd expect: designing, permits, inspections, etc, without us ever having to think about anything. The office was always very communicative during the process, and we were always well-informed about the progress. The install itself took place in less than a day and the city inspection was complete and all permits closed out the next day. The whole process was complete about 8 weeks after we signed the agreement. This efficiency was definitely appreciated with how quickly the clean energy incentives are being removed these days. After our system was fully connected with ConEd, Chris came back again to see how everything went and to go over again all of the details of the system. It's been about a month since we started generating energy, and while it was a very hot and sunny August, it was still nice to see that the system generated 30% more than what was projected. They helped us bring down a squirrel's nest humanely and happy to say the mother squirrel has relocated the babies. I'm so glad I called Empower and these techs were sent. I have solar panels thru this company (Empower) for about a year now..its been a total nightmare,…read morestarted with the 1st lie about no cost for my electricity usage, 2nd lie my tax credit amount, 3rd lie my monthly solar panel bill amount, 4th lie and how my bill will be lowered after the tax credit..All was a pack of fkin lies. I still pay for electricity a small amount plus all con Edison tacked on fees( another disgrace company) my monthly bills for the solar panels was quoted $250 but I'm billed $289 per month plus my con ed bill...oh don't worry you will receive a $12,000+ tax credit (federal) to help pay off your $38,000 loan and a state tax credit also for thousands.. yeah we'll I was issued $6000 for federal and still awaiting approval for $3000 for the state , $9,000 total, barely moved the dial on this loan..and they don't lower your monthly cost after paying down your loan as stated by the sales rep. I pay almost an extra $300 that I can not afford in this economy, Believing I would trade out one bill for another, benefitting in the long run, both for me and our environment..I was bamboozled into paying 2 bills for the same production... Let's not talk about how they had to come back to my house and also troubleshoot these solar panels because they did not work for the first couple of months . I'm really thinking I should sue them. I have the rep in my house on recording telling me all these lies.

WARNING !! DON'T!! This is not a 5 star this is a 0 Star rating…read more I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Solar Bear Energy. While the solar and battery system was installed, the project has not been properly commissioned or verified, and repeated follow-up attempts have gone unanswered. The battery backup did engage during a grid outage, however no on-site testing, load verification, or simulated outage test has ever been performed. As the homeowner, I was never shown or provided written confirmation of: * Which circuits are backed up * Expected battery runtime under load * That the system performs as designed during an outage I have sent multiple emails over several weeks requesting basic commissioning and verification, including a simple on-site test. These requests have largely gone unanswered or received minimal responses that do not address the issues. A solar and battery system is a major investment. Proper testing, communication, and follow-through should be standard -- especially before considering a project complete. Unfortunately, due to the lack of responsiveness and failure to properly verify the system, I cannot recommend Solar Bear Energy at this time. ALSO DONT USE THE FINANCIAL CREDIT UNION THEY USE TO GIVE YOU A LOAN its all a scam!!

I have been trying…read moreto get a hold of them to find out why in my 5+ years of solar panels I have only received 4 energy credits. Trying to reach their customer service is impossible! I have solar panels and an HVAC system yet I am paying $900+ in energy bills from Con Edison! I called Con Edison and they informed me that I have not been receiving g my energy credits. I have been trying to reach out to Kamtech and they haven't even bothered to reach out to me. Totally disgraceful! They should compensate me for the 3 months my panels were not producing any energy! Egor has reached out and we managed to come to an acceptable solution. He was very patient and took the time to explain certain issues that I was not aware of. Not only that, but they also compensated me towards the cost of my energy utility bill. Thank you very much for taking the time answer my questions and help steer me towards a satisfactory resolution.

Called two weeks prior to ask about 1 out of 16 solar panels not producing and 3 out of 16 showing…read more50% life time production over 2 years compared to rest. The 1-2 days call back did not happen. Emailing to service@kamtechsolar.com is not an option either, no response after 6 months and a repeated attempt one month ago. Called back, 0 customers in queue, the lady remembered our conversation, she spoke to a project mgr and called me back minutes later with a scheduled installer date next week. This gives me some more confidence than what other reviews have provided. As original installer of a Sunpower system, Kamtech should cover labor costs in addition to the lifetime warranty of panels & inverters per agreement. We will see how this works out.
