Nearly 12 years after installation of our bamboo cabinets we had our last straw, the camel's back was broken, when yet again a screw backed out keeping the pantry sliders from closing for the 20th+ time. We finally decided to visit and see if they would fix it - even if we had to pay, since the first occurance had been 5 of 6 years after they were installed. Can't tell you hard enough to not go with this business. I just got my cabinets delivered and all the dimensions are wrong - For one wall, the measurement was 3 inches short and in the other wall it was 4 inches long. All cabinets are short depth wise that I now see my unfinished floors. And guess what - When we first informed them about the problem, the reaction was super unprofessional. They seemed to be angry about it. They want me to tell them what to fix. Its your job to come here identify your mistake and rectify it - Not mine. They were surprised when I told them that I need new cabinets to replace these. Seriously!! After this one call, now no one from Superior Custom Cabinets care enough to talk to us about our problem. Designer Austin Hegland was great to work with and offered creative ideas and feedback to help us achieve our goals and dreams cost-effectively and in a timely manner. He and the Superior construction team built us high quality solid wood cabinets with quality hardware at a very reasonable price, delivered them on schedule and budget, and made the few necessary adjustments quickly and cheerfully. We first bought cabinets from Superior in 2001 for our old house and they held up beautifully, and we are very happy we went back. We cannot recommend Superior and Austin highly enough. read more

We used Superior Custom Cabinets for our total kitchen remodel. They were fantastic! Andrew did a great job of seeing our vision and making it come to life. He was very professional, helpful and quick to respond. As with any remodel, little issues come up (ie I hated the original color of the shelves I chose!), and they made everything right with no questions asked. The quality is superb and we couldn't be happier. Soft close cabinets, lots of color selections, and lots of cool built in features that you can customize to your liking. We bult our house 26 years ago and purchased cabinets from Superior Cabinets in Tukwila. The cabinets have held up well - I use my kitchen alot!!!!!!!!!!! We recently had a hinge break on one of the cabinets so we called Superior Cabinets to see about purchasing a hinge. They actually came out to our house in a few days, installed the new hinge and left us with a couple more hinges in case we needed them. NO CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were shocked and so appreciative that they would take the time to come out, install it and didn't charge us anything! WOW! They certainly have our vote for super service and standing by their product! read more

For us this company was inferior. The salesman did not fully explain the impacts of the wood he selected and which we chose (which to us were significant). The cabinets arrived with a variety of dings, without some of the details we specified and without some of the specialty items that they were supposed to include. Some of the dimensions were incorrect. Our attempts to make repairs and corrections have been ignored. We would never use them again. read more

I purchased all new kitchen cabinets threw this company about 2 years ago. Though I paid for what I thought were nice cabinets- the quality is extremely poor. Within 2 months of instillation they were bubbling up and damaged by the slightest bit of water. This is with normal use- I am very clean, and have redone 2 kitchens in the past. I have never had this problem. They came and replaces all the cabinet fronts at that time. I asked them if I could upgrade to a different type - and pay the difference. They said no and replaced them with the same cheap material. But within a few months they again warped. They were professional, and they worked well with me on the design- hence the 1 stars. But for paying a higher price compared to other companies - the overall quility of material and functionality are EXTREMLY poor. read more

We had a flood in our kitchen and needed all new cabinets. Our general contractor chose Superior Cabinets. The quality of the cabinets (except the drawers) seems to be fine. However, they measured all wrong. The lower cabinet between our stove and the wall is so long that the contractor had to cut a hole in the wall to get it to fit. Our previous upper cabinets above the refrigerator were too long, and instead of measuring the space that was there, they measured the previous cabinet length, and the cabinets stick into the wall by a few inches. On the sink side, we used to have a double sink, but when they measured and designed the cabinets, they only left enough space for a single sink. On that side, our cabinets used to go all the way to our window, and the new cabinets stop 6 inches short of the window. One drawer has never opened correctly. They sent someone out to fix it, but the "fix" didn't work and 6 months later it still won't open straight. read more

Oh boy. Not sure where to start with this one. My boyfriend had just purchased a condo and needed to remodel the kitchen. We stopped into Superior Cabinets and met one of the salesman who was very nice and helpful. We decided to move forward with Superior Cabinets and set up an appointment with Brad to come out and measure our kitchen. Later on in the month, my boyfriend got a random phone call from Brad claiming he was at the condo ready for the measurement appointment. First off, he came at a time and date that was not what we have scheduled. My boyfriend was kind enough to leave work in the middle of the day and met up with Brad. Turns out he got his appointments all mixed up and missed another client's schedule. Strike one We moved forward and decided to officially go with Superior Cabinets (I admit, the layout for the kitchen was nice). Fast forward 3-4 weeks, the cabinets are ready for delivery. My boyfriend had to go out of the country for work and was not able to be at the condo when the cabinets were delivered. Before he left, he called Superior Cabinets twice to inform them to call me to let me know the approximate time they would be coming for delivery. I waited all day and did not hear from them. I called them and one of the workers told me "oh yeah we called your boyfriend but he didn't pick up. But we told him the cabinets were coming between 11 am - 1 pm". He had already called them ahead of time to let them know to call me!! Strike 2 The cabinets finally have arrived and it didn't get any better from there. First off, it was raining that day and they brought the cabinets in with no cover or box. They came in wet and guess who had to dry them off? Me! The delivery guy even said "Oh you might want to wipe them down because the water could ruin the paint". Shouldn't they have wiped them down for me? For the most part, the cabinets were in good condition, but for the ones that were not acceptable, I am a bit shocked that they even allowed the cabinets to leave the warehouse looking the way they did. Some had cracks on the side, busted railings, cabinet sizes were off and the "orange peel" surface (not smooth, but bumpy). Even my contractor who installed it for me was shocked. One thing I do give Superior Cabinets was they were very cooperative and eventually fixed everything we have requested (which took about another month or so). In the end, we are enjoying the cabinets now and they look good. Brad did a wonderful job with his design, but with the hassle of everything else, I am not sure if I would use them again :/ read more

We are unhappy with the inferior work on the cabinets. There are several issues: tape peeling up, doors of different sizes, an upper cabinet that doesn't fit, a warped door and dings in the wood. Components for the cabinets such as lazy susans, pegboards and supports were backordered, but we were able to find them from another source and quickly. read more

It has been 2 years since the installation and the cabinets are in "like new" condition. I still have lots of compliments about the remodel which is focused on the cabinets. Each time we found the Superior folks knowledgeable, easy to work with, and helpful in creating efficient designs for our needs. The cabinets held up well and we still appreciate them daily. You'd think that would have been enough for me to take the trouble to write a good review. But last week I called to say one hinges broke on a cabinet we purchased in 2009. I sent a photo to a helpful person who took the call, and was shocked to receive a new hinge in the mail the very next day, an extra hinge in the package, and no charge! They made a custom silverware drawer for me along with a spice rack holder. if you want a small local company that product is made local and cabinets with a lifetime warranty and that can transfer for 10 years to a new home owner, plus wonderful quality then Superior Custom Cabinets is the place to go. read more

Ordered very expensive new cherry cabinets. Instead order was delayed by over a month because they were built wrong, damaged or measured incorrectly. They drilled manufacturing holes through the backs into the cabinet in numerous locations and tried to hide the damage. I've tried several times to get proper resolution but get the run around. I ordered new and got refurbished junk. Stay away! read more

I had the very unfortunate experience of working with Superior Cabinet. As an architect of 20+ years I have seen my fair share of mistakes on site, but Superior by far wins for incompetence. Superior came highly recommended from my general contractor, but at this point I don't think he would use them again. In total we have had to have my kitchen remade 3 times because they could not grain match the doors correctly. Kitchen/bath number one - the grain was rotated 90 degrees the wrong way from what was ordered. Not only that but half the cabinets were inside out. The bathroom cabinets had rotating grain directions despite being specified horizontal. Kitchen/bath number two. The kitchen cabinets arrive half of them grain-matched (which they added a $2k surcharge for because they made the original cabinets grain in the opposite direction then specified). Not only that but half the kitchen as inside out where the quartersawn cut walnut was on the inside of the cabinet and the B-side was on the outside. Today was kitchen/bath number 3. The bathroom replacement drawers did not arrive as planned 6-8 weeks ago. The inside of my bathroom drawers have words written in pencil in the finish of every drawer. Every drawer has about a dozen screw holes and looks like Swiss cheese. The installer came with half the parts required to finish the kitchen job and the new upper cabinets were the wrong wood altogether (half quarter sawn and half plain sawn. The installer and my GC instantly recognized the problem. The installer called Ryan Desimone who managed the previous two screw ups. His response was a yelling rant to me on the phone that he has remade this enough and "I get what I get at this point.". The incompetence of this crew and the ambivalence toward quality control is remarkable. I have a $20k kitchen that is going in the bin after nearly 6 months of making and remaking. We are now looking to have another shop remake all the doors and drawers for the kitchen and two baths. My advice, look elsewhere as there is nothing Superior about their cabinets. They should rebrand to Inferior Cabinets, and even that would be overstating their credentials. read more

I bought a house-full of kitchen, office and bathroom "built-in" cabinets from Superior nearly 25 years ago! The wood and finish were truly outstanding, and they let my carpenter create a perfect design for each space. I'm so glad I got a little creative and chose something that I loved instead of something simpler and less expensive. They always get huge compliments from all of my visitors over the years and still, and I hope I've brought them some referral business. I stain and varnish wood myself, so I'm a bit of a snob about what goes into my house! It takes a lot of time to choose good wood, stain color and finish when I do the work myself, but their choices were beyond my highest expectations. Every 5 or 10 years some hinge gets "wobbly" or loose, and they send out my favorite repair person Ken to do his usual expert job of fixing it. I have never got such good and reliable service from any company before, and I'm so grateful my carpenter recommended them so long ago! read more

My brother who built his own custom home and a good friend who is a general contractor for a large company highly recommended superior cabinets to us. We shopped around and actually went to superior a couple of times before choosing them. Mac was the contractor that helped us. He came out to our home when we were in the middle of a major remodel on our kitchen. (We had gutted most of it including removing a wall). He gave excellent recommendations on the design and what cupboards and drawers would work best for our kitchen. (My only regret was not pulling him in sooner for our remodel). He also did his best to keep the price within the parameters we had previously set. The cabinets arrived on time, in perfect condition and with exact measurements. We installed the cabinets ourselves. After a few weeks superior called to make sure we were happy and satisfied and also offered to have one of their men come out to fine tune and adjust hinges etc... He came out and adjusted and tweaked every door so they lined up perfectly. He also reminded us that the cupboards have a lifetime warranty. The most unethical and unprofessional company I've ever worked with. This company agreed to make me a cabinet/island to fit my specialized professional stove. I gave them a clearly written email as to its size. I was going to have the island custom painted, so the clear written e-mails were to make it primed and ready to paint and to fit my stove. Cabinets were installed and quartz as well. I arrived to find the opening too small for my stove (6,000$ stove) and not even presanded much less ready to paint. They never communicated with me throughout the process after I made the order. This company will do nothing to correct this disaster. Awful! I am telling all my friends to avoid them like the plague. read more

I am surprised by some of the other reviews here on Yelp. We used Superior two years ago (summer 2013) to supply all the cabinets for a full kitchen remodel and two bathrooms. Every cabinet was exactly as ordered and the contractor said they all installed very well and fit perfectly. We love the appearance of the cabinets both the quality of wood used and the nice staining work. All doors and drawers work flawlessly except we did have to have 3 drawers adjusted a little to close properly. This work was completed quickly and correctly by Superior at no extra cost. I have no complaints about their products at all and I would definitely use them again. read more

I've had some problems with the finish on our cabinets but Superior has always stood behind their work and are only too happy to send out a repair guy to solve any issues. They helped us redesign our old kitchen and created beautiful, timeless cabinets. We have used Superior twice in the last 13 years. Not only did the make new cabinets for us that matched the ones they built 13 years ago, they are very difficult to tell apart. The reconfigured kitchen from 5 years ago looks great with the 2 generations of cabinets. The second item of excellence is Ken in their customer service organization. I have had him out to the house multiple times. Superior offers to warrant their cabinets ongoing. This means they will come out and adjust doors so their straight and look like new again. Ken is polite and resourceful in the way he goes about his work. I recommend Superior to anyone wanting cabinets that are far better than big box stores, but also superior in quality for only a fraction more in cost. read more

We looked at several cabinet local cabinet companies and some not so local. Superior Cabinets has a showroom full of beautiful cabinets that had features I had never seen. Brad was our designer. He designed the room on the spot from our dimensions and produced a 3D design and a quote on our first meeting. We set an appointment for a field measurement and he was on time and very professional. We live in a condo and space was tight. He modified the design after the measure and re-quoted with a couple of different options. We picked white cabinets with glass doors and wine cubes. We ordered the cabinets and they gave us a 6 week delivery date. The cabinets were there on that exact date! Two of the cabinets had cracks from transportation. Superior took the cabinets back, repaired them and had them back to us in a week. They look beautiful. My contractor said they were easy to install and fit really well. Originally, I would have enthusiastically given Superior Cabinets a 5 start review. Their cabinets were (are) superb! My contractor installed the cabinets but badly botched cutting holes in the rear wall for the plumbing. Not Superior's problem at all. Superios came out and adjusted all the doors to close perfectly, say the botched job, and went above and beyond to provide a replacement rear panel. Superior said they wanted to make things perfect and would come and install the replacement panel to assure my satisfaction. 5 stars! Then it went downhill. They promised to call my cell phone 15 minutes before arrival. I would leave work and meet them at the house. I rearranged my day to be able to leave at anytime. I kept my cell phone at my side all day long and never received a call. I get home after work to find the replacement panel left outside the house, with a note to say "call for a follow up appointment." I called and Superior tells me they did call, numerous times. However, my cell phone tells me about any missed calls or voice mails and there were none from them. I also checked my work phone and my home phone for messages. No calls were left at any number (even though I've only given them my cell number). After pointing this out and, giving them the benefit of the doubt that they possibly wrote down an incorrect number, asked what number they called so we could ensure they called the right number for the follow up appointment. Instead, they got angry, refused to provide that number, and stated that they will not return to my house. I'm on my own to install the panel. I'm left feeling like I received 1 star service at the end, but the initial experience was so great, I bumped it up to 2 stars. read more

They say they make custom cabinets, but not really. They told me over the phone that they could match a cabinet door, but when I took it in, they said they can't make that style. It was a very typical style, nothing unusual about. When I asked the guy at the front desk about it, he was very short with me and offered no explanation. Just - no, we can't do that. It was a small job, so maybe they didn't want to be bothered. Either way, not a good experience. Very disappointing, since I made the trip from Seattle. I won't go back there when we redo our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. read more

We remodeled our kitchen back in late 1998. Yes, nearly 20 years ago. Recently we've been having problems with one of the drawers dropping on the back side when closing it. My husband went to their shop and they GAVE him replacement parts. He tried to fix it but was unsuccessful. Superior Cabinets sent someone out to our home, 20 YEARS LATER to fix that and another drawer at no charge. Not only are their cabinets Superior, their customer service is as well!
