Goodness, we've been here a total of 5x and have had about two good experiences. The first guy ghosted us twice, cut hair really well, and then basically didn't care when we showed up for our appointment he wasn't even there for and David took us because he was kind and knew how annoyed we were. Today we booked online and got just a really poor cut with someone new. We're all done with Superior Cuts, I think we gave them more than enough chances. read more

Worst beard cut I've ever had in my life. If you are planning on going here to have your beard done please run away. I got a burn to my face a cut on my nose and a beard that is horribly crooked after three attempts to get it straightened. I had to get out of there. read more

Stopped by randomly as I was waiting for my mom to finish an appointment. This is a pretty busy barbershop with 6-7 chairs in the Windmill Farms shopping center. Chu, who I'm assuming is the owner, was open and took me right away. She did a great job on my cut and was very friendly and professional. For $35 I think you get what you're looking for, and the fact that they take walk ins was pretty helpful. Would go back whenever my regular barber isn't in town. read more

Went in on Saturday March 16th. I had been growing out my facial hair for 5 months with the intention of waxing my mustache. I explained to the gentleman with the wavy hair exactly what I wanted 3 times and he said oh sure no problem. He then cut off most of my mustache and when I told him that was not what I asked for he lied to my face and said that he had not cut my mustache at all and that it was not a big deal because it will grow out. So glad I found this spot. Second time back, both times with Huy on a Sunday. All barbers are dope and chill, and it's very welcoming in there. Both haircuts were a different style and he nailed them both. I used to go to those generic chain barbershops, but my cuts were so inconsistent every time. I'll be coming back every time from now on. Check it out UPDATE: came in again a few months later (Saturday morning around 11am). They were booked up but recommended I come back at 1:30p and that Huy had an opening. Lucky Me! He killed it AGAIN. I'm sure everyone there is brilliant, but this dude is talented and I will come back as long as I possibly can. UPDATE: y'all, I can't just keep updating you. My boyfriend got his haircut from this place (he is too embarrassed to share his cut even tho it looks good smh). Anyways, the barber knew what to do with his hair and he showed an inspiration pic and I think he did a good job matching it. The fade is also really nice and transitioned pretty well. Only downside was probably waiting for almost 2 hours- we called about coming in and they said walk-in was fine. It was not fine and should definitely make an appointment as this place seems busy. Went with some friends, honestly the cut is just overpriced for what it is and the experience wasn't worth the price either. The guy did such a horrible job on my son that I had to take him to a different barber to fix. Even the second barber complained about how poorly my son's hair was cut. I wish I knew the guy's name that cut his hair so I can warn all parents to stay away. Waste of $35. read more

Dear barber with the black pony tail (who's area is on the right, 3rd chair down the line), if you take nothing away from this post just know that your customer service skills must improve, and you cannot speak to women like you did to me. Especially a woman of color with two young kids by her side. You humiliated me, you talked down to me, and made me feel so bad after leaving the shop. It was embarrassing the way you spoke to me. You put me down, and honestly made me really sad. I will never go back, I will never recommend this place. You suck and I wish I had the strength to tell you this in person. I ask myself why I didn't and honestly I was probably in shock and taken back and in a room of men I probably didn't have the guts but hindsight I would've told you to stop. Background: I walked in on Saturday with my two kids, my 2-yr old boy and my 6-yr old girl. You were clearly in a rush, heading out the door with paperwork, but for whatever reason you decided to cut my boys hair. But upon entering the shop everything things got worse. We sat my boy in your chair, he was clearly not having it (maybe it was your energy because the time prior with a heavier set guy, my boy did just fine)....you were voicing to everyone that "I really have to get this paperwork done, but I'll do it after this". Clearly you were busy, overwhelmed and perhaps frustrated at your poor time management skills....but I was kind enough and asked you whether we should come back later. You said no, so we stayed. My boy wasn't in the mood and I get that but you were so rude to me and humiliated me in front of your peers, your other customers and my children. You went on, in your annoyed mood and tone, and asked me if I had "an iPad or something" I said, let me get my phone for him, which I did. Then you went on and asked "has he napped?", I said "no, his nap is at 1pm"...then you proceeded to say (loudly may I add), "ohh that's a ROOKIE move right there"...ughh. I was clearly overwhelmed with a 2 year old crying and you chirping shitty things at me. I proceeded by taking my child off your chair and letting you know this wasn't going to work but maybe later. As I was exiting with my two kids, in complete embarrassment by your poor judgement, tone of voice and snarky remarks, you still proceeded to tell everyone in there that what I wanted for my kid was not doable. I only ask for Chu. She is five stars. Very professional and attentive to your request. As for the place itself, they really need to tone down their music choice. There are always young kids present especially during the start of the school year but the music they play is mature rated rap. I'm older and can handle it, but use some common sense. When parents are sitting there while waiting patiently as their young kids are getting their haircuts, I can sense disapproval. This is not a hip shop but more of a neighborhood shop that needs to understand its demographics. read more

I haven't had a hair cut in a year ! I was desperate and thought, there is a barber shop by my house. I am not up to date on Barber shops, so I wasn't sure if they cut women's hair... dumb of me of course they do! Daisy did such a great job with the mess my hair was in. I loved the experience. What I liked most besides the awesome haircut, is that it was quick without a lot of shampooing etc. Plus a very good price. Usually I cut my own hair-- a simple #1 all over and trim up the edges. I can get it done with high quality in about 15 minutes. I like simple and basic. No snazzy fades or crazy requests. For the first time in many years, I decided to give someone other than myself the opportunity to clip my very tame, pin-straight hair for a quick all-over #1. I remembered why I don't waste time and money on haircuts anymore. I paid the same full price for a more complex haircut but got half the effort in a fraction of the time. I had stray hairs sticking up all over. The $7 cuts at the Naval Base NEX back in the day were better quality than this "superior cut." To be fair, they have many more barbers that might have pride in what they do. Unfortunately, this is just my experience based on one visit. #unimpressed read more

Randomly stopped in here for a haircut. Place was not busy so did not have to wait long for a cut. Place is very clean with an industrial feel to the place. Instead of a hairdryer to dust off the head, it must have been an air pump or something as it was pumping so much hair I could not hear anything for a minute or so. Every time I walk in to this place there is shitty service, I been going to superior for years and now the del Cerro location since not having a good manager can't get their haircuts in line it's always "I have someone coming in" at a certain time and they always turn people around. When you wait the hour no one comes in on time for their appointment. I recommend going to another superior in Chula Vista cause the del Cerro location can't run the business right and shitty customer service. Needs a better manager for the barbers. read more
