I had an odd experience. I walked in with my mom to go to the Wells Fargo ATM in the store. Since it has been awhile since our last visit, My mom wanted to get prickly pears (in Spanish, it's called Tunas) in the produce section. My mom takes forever doing this, so I decided to wander around the aisles and take some photos for Yelp and me. Now, I had no clue if I wasn't allowed to take photos. If that's the case then, I apologize. But there was this lady ( manager or employee) who saw me and gave an odd look. I said hello and she replied but then dashed away. I let it go, and walk into another aisle. This aisle had Mexican cookies including Gansito cookies. The original Gansitos are like twinkies. So the fact that they now come in the form of cookie was exciting. I was about to take a photo and grab a box to go when that employee comes back and straight up asks me if I work for another company. What? "umm... no?" Then she starts asking me if I was at the store yesterday and other questions like "what are you doing here?" and it made me feel very uncomfortable. But I answered all of her questions politely and she let me go. I went back to my mom who was still picking out tunas, and I told her what happened. She replied that the employee probably thought I was a public health inspector. If I was, I would have said your store is really clean. But, I felt like someone was watching me. And at one point I turned around while placing the tunas in the check out line and there she was staring at me. ummm... ok. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because the cashier was nice enough to hold on to the tunas while we made a quick trip to the hospital (we walked to the store from there). She was super sweet.

This is the market formarly known as Cost Saver! (Hmm with that line, I feel like I'm introducing the artist formarly known as Prince lol). I checked out Numero Uno during one of their grand opening Saturday celebrations and was greated with a loud stereo system blasting music from Maroon 5. Walking in, the happy celebrations continued with free samples of chips and salsa and cheese. I also spotted a huge white teddy bear mascot from one of the bread companies. Aside from all the feel good happenings, I saw lots of great deals here! There were pineapples that were 2 lbs for $1. Oranges that were 7 lbs for $1. The fruit deals were amazing! They also had several good deals with vegetables! I think I will be coming here to get my veggie and fruit needs! Numero Uno also has fresh bakery where they offer different cakes and Mexican breads. I bought some bollilo. They were five for a $1. I got them right as they were brought out from the bakery oven! The bread is so soft and tasty. It's the perfect breakfast bread at the perfect price. The pan dulce offerings here are good deal too! 3 for a $1. Aside from getting my fruits and veggies, I'll be stopping by the bakery once in awhile to get some of their good deals! Numero Uno has some numero uno prices!

This was Cost Saver not too long ago and now it is Numero Uno! They adjusted the produce area to look for full and shopper friendly! The entire back wall that use to have boring white shelves have now been replaced with chic black coolers! I can finely buy cold wine! Another change I noticed was they rearranged the produce area around to make it more shopper friendly! I have to start making frequent visits here again to see the contrast!

I've never seen such a huge H-Mart. The H-Marts everywhere else are mostly Korean products but…read morethis H-Mart caters to Asians from every part of Asia. Somewhere in between the Korean Friendship Bell and Korea Town in Los Angeles, but not exactly right next to either. My goal was to go check out Erewhon and all the smoothies and artisanal popcorn that celebrities and food influencers rave about online, but the Torrance H-Mart was an interesting destination in itself. I had to really restrain myself from buying everything that I wanted. I ultimately bought: 1. The Hojicha Tea Black Chocolate from Japan (the brand is Meiji) 2. The Green KitKats (Extra Matcha Tea Chocolate from Japan). 3. The Hanyul Hand Cream (I bought three - Chrysanthemum, Artemisia, and Ja Cho). They smell amazing and keep my hands moisturized. Southern California is so dry compared to Northern California. Ja Cho is Lithospermum Erythrorhizon root extract. 4. The Innisfree Green Tea face mask. 5. The Esfolio Volcanic Ash face mask. It's perfect for dry skin, and creates a healty glow. I asked the lady working there if the Volcanic Ash was from Jeju Island. She had no idea. I bought it anyway because it sounded interesting. 6. The Innisfree Volcanic Clay Mask. I know for a fact that this clay is sourced from Jeju Island, and I've been buying this product for years. Cleans up the sporadic acne flare up fast! It's perfect for combination skin without drying skin too much. They have vegan jerky, Sriracha mayo, and Kimchee Ketchup. I can buy that at any H-Mart, I think, so I didn't buy any of that. I wanted to explore so much more, but so much to do and so little time.

It did the job for lunch but i'm not sure i would get it again. I was able to eat it in their little food area. Parking is shared but there is plenty of it!

Wow!!! Recently came here because my friends took me and I was super happy to finally shop here!!!…read moreThis is apparently the largest Japanese market in Gardena (and all of California). It's a very big store that somehow doesn't look as big from the outside, but there are so many things to highlight from here. We were in a city nearby but decided to stop by here because my friends wanted to buy some ingredients. This store was a delight for me as it was so big!!! My favorite section was the many Japanese merchandise of clothes, plushes, and desserts!!! It was super tempting to not buy something haha and I ended up grabbing the box of iconic mango ice cream popsicles!!! It was super yummy and was to my full liking. We ate it straight from the box because we didn't want it to melt in the car ride home. It was super refreshing and delicious. Other highlights was the hot foods bar and lots of Japanese beauty products.

I absolutely love it here. I'd honestly go out of my way to drive an hour from East LA to Gardena…read morejust to visit Tokyo Central. They have pretty much everything you could need when it comes to Japanese groceries and products, and a lot of the items are reasonably priced. There's also a hot food bar, which is a huge plus bc my boyfriend and I like to grab a few things to share whenever we visit :p Shopping here is always a fun experience, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful, which makes it even better. Highly recommend!

The service at this one is just great. They know where everything is and will help you. The lines can get long, but it moves fast. The entire staff is nice. Their selection of products is great. I don't care for their cheap wine, but every thing else is great. I love their frozen section and they have a good vegan section as well. Their produce is good. Their prices are fair. My daughter saw some lovely flowers, so fresh, and bought me some. I love them. They smell great. If you can get there early in the morning the parking is not so bad and after dark it is okay. You can't back out of your spot. The drivers in the parking lot can be aggressive, but not where near Costco levels. I really wish they would move to an option to not get a printed receipt. It is just a cost for them to buy the paper. I am sure that is passed to us. The receipt just ends up in the trash. We are paying for trash. I mention the idea to the workers every time I check out and they always remark that they wish it was possible too. It is possible. They just need to do it.

I have only used it once or twice, but it was convenient when it was available. It seemed like much of the time, some left their car there to charge for long periods of time without shopping. A new charging station with several superchargers just opened at the other end of the center. I wonder if that was part of the reason this one is now gone.

Today I went in and tried to get a middle cut tri tip plate. They had a piece of meat that was on the end and have been sitting there for a while. I asked the cleric if he could cut into this other several pieces and give me a center cut and he said no we had to take the end piece. I said I didn't want the in peace and wanted the more juicier piece from the center. Ask for the manager and the manager didn't want to do it either. So we decided to skip lunch altogether at this place. No one might think well that's their policy. But I've got in there several times and there will be several pieces cut and that's what it's designed for. They have display window and they even ask you what chicken would you like. Every time we come in here it really looks like they don't love their job. They are not friendly but the food is okay. I've decided just to stop coming to this store altogether. The deli's friendly where you can get sliced meats but the meat department they always seem to be unfriendly, this smoke shop they definitely don't have customer service in mind. I don't go to a place to get perfect service. But it does seem that this place is starting to slip with how they treat a customer who wants to spend money.
