We have a building in Fairfield that needed a new a/c system. We used them as they were low bid. They put in a new system but did not replace the 20 year old out-dated thermostat or even look at it evidently. The system failed a couple months later. We looked at the thermostat first and discovered that the batteries were so corroded that we had to pry them out with a screw driver. We called Superior and they said the they did not replace the thermostat because the one they would replace it with would be inferior. Really? We replaced the fuses in the system and could not get it to run, so we called them out to check it out. They had replaced the thermostat with a new one and said that the fuses were blown out. That seems funny because I just put brand new ones in before they arrived. They sent us a bill for over $300.00, which is probably not that bad, but when I went to check the work, they left the whole side panel off of the unit exposing high voltage capacitors and wiring. The cover was about 50 ft. from the unit in the front of the building. They also left the circuit panel door open in their hurry to get out of there. When a company lies to me and does shoddy work, I do not ever use them again, nor recommend them to others. read more

This review is for the owner of this company, Rick, who is truly one of the rudest, most aggressive business owners with whom I have ever had the displeasure of working. My GC and I had previously worked with a different HVAC contractor in Napa on a different project who sadly passed away in 2018. As a result, we needed a new company to install a new HVAC system in a renovation home. From my very first contact with Rick on the phone he threatened to place mechanic's liens on the property if I did not do exactly what he demanded of me in terms of payment to SM. Rather than be happy and excited about the over $13,000 job he was about to get, he seemed angry. He kept saying that he had been "burned" before by other customers and therefore it was his way or the highway in terms of paying the first half of the payment for this company's services. Rather than get into it with him about his negative treatment of a new customer, I did what he asked and paid the first $6,600 of the cost for the new system. I had hoped to not have to deal with him again. When my contractor informed me that the system installation was completed, I immediately paid the final 1/2 of the bill. Approximately 2 months later during final inspections on the home, we found out that the new system would not pass final inspection because of problems with the duct work. At this point, SM had been paid in full for 2 months. My contractor contacted SM and had to make arrangements for them to come out and fix their work which included destroying some of the new construction on the home to get to an area that needed duct repairs. The system finally passed inspection but now we were left needing to complete repairs to the home and also paying for the second inspection. I called SM and was put through to Rick yet again. There was no apology from him for the problems he had caused us. Once again, he seemed angry to be force to deal with a customer (or maybe just a female customer?). I told him that because of their failed work, we are going to incur additional expenses. He kept saying that they would pay for the additional expenses as a credit on our final bill. I told him I had paid the final bill 2 months ago so how exactly would we get paid back? He was really hot by now so I said I was considering reversing the charges on my credit card until we resolved this dispute. This comment got him even angrier so he then said if I do that he will put a mechanic's lien on the home! After going around and around on the phone with him about his threat to do this, I finally hung up the phone on him because I was getting no where. Who treats their customers like this? Why does this person feel it is appropriate to threaten customers from the start of the relationship and then when something goes wrong their work, threaten them again? I worked with a garage door contractor on this same house and there was also a problem with their work because they installed two different glass garage doors instead of matching doors. Like with the HVAC company, I had already paid them in full for their work when we realized there was a problem with the doors. Instead of yelling and threatening me when I pointed out the fact that they had already been paid in full, they profusely apologized. They were contrite, admitted it was their fault and even said that they would understand reversing the charges until they corrected the work. They were so nice and confirmed their plans to fix the problem in writing so that I felt comfortable enough that I did not reverse the charges. They fixed everything and offered us a discount on the doors because of the inconvenience they had caused us. Rick's solution is to bully the customer, not apologize for errors and then threaten legal action if the customer does what every customer has a right to do which is not pay until the work is satisfactorily completed. If he hates his customers so much then he should not be in business. I am going to reverse the charges until he provides some sort of concrete financial offer to pay for the damages that we incurred because of the defective ducting that was put into the house. Since we don't owe him any money at this point, my only remedy to ensure we get paid back for the damages is to reverse payment to his company. I understand that mistakes happen, but he needs to take ownership of the mistakes his employees made, treat his customers with respect and stop threatening them with legal action! Tried another company first, terrible luck even trying to get a hold of someone to talk to so we looked elsewhere. Our AC broke last summer, didn't want to go through another summer without it again. I got in touch with Michael and he was able to get someone to check out our AC later that week. Was worried about our dogs, but he said the guy coming out for the inspection loved dogs, bonus points! Just didn't want them getting in his way. Larry came out to check out the AC, took some notes, said hi to the dogs, and was on his way. Didn't take long, he's very nice. The following week he came back to replace our AC. Now we don't have to suffer the heat a second year in a row! Definitely recommend them. :) read more

We had a PGE transformer blow out across the street this past weekend that fried my furnace( not to mention most of my big appliances). I called a few places and Superior was the only one that would come out the very next day after I called. Not only did they come they were on time. Chris was my tech and he was great. Explained things to me and tried some minor repairs first. Being that the furnace was only 3 years old (I purchased the house 1.5 years ago) they were able to get the furnace company to give them all the parts needed under the warranty. I feel that they went above and beyond to do this for me. I had no paperwork from the furnace company and Superior could have just billed me for all the parts. When he left they ordered my parts and Chris was back at my house the next morning at 8am to install them. The integrity of this company was amazing. It hard hard to find people you can trust these day. I recommend this company with the highest stars allowed. read more

I am giving this review to Superior Mechanical based on their complete professionalism. I contacted them earlier in the week and spoke with Rich. He couldn't get me in right away and gave me a connection to another place that may have availability. I told him I would contact him back if I was able to get someone else out to repair my furnace. I totally forgot to text him back. All my fault! They came out today as scheduled and where nothing g but polite and professional about my mistake. Rick, Michael & Keith are an excellent team to work with for your AC installation. They are a family owned and operated business and it shows. They are punctual, professional and very experienced. Pricing was very competitive but their customer service was where they stood out. Anyone in the Marin area, I would highly encourage people to give them a call. They use Carrier products which are the industry standard which was a welcome surprise in contrast to some of their competitors. read more

Superior Mechanical stands up to its name, 'superior'. They installed a new air conditioner for us about ten years ago, and today they repaired my furnace. They are not expensive, do not gouge, and are honest. The service person who repaired my furnace came and diagnosed it, then a few days later returned with the new motor. His name is RYAN. He was very efficient, yet friendly, not wasting time but not rushing either. I could not be more satisfied with his work and demeanor. Also, their office staff are very good, very responsive. After a frustrating few months trying to get another HVAC company to call me back,I was given the number for Superior Mechanical. Rick Fuller called immediately. We needed help with the gutters and the HVAC system. The work required numerous visits. All of the employees were professional, knowledgeable, courteous and clean!Nabor took care of the gutters and made recommendations for avoiding rust in the future. Karl worked on the HVAC system and followed up with phone calls to make certain everything was working properly. He left me his card and told me to call anytime.
