These guys were great. Straight to the point and no nonsense. I installed all new steering linkage in my 2002 Dodge 2500, and all shops near me (Menifee) said they couldn't fit my truck (long bed) on their racks. A quick phone call had me in that afternoon to drop it off. Picked it up right on time and drove like a dream. 6 month/6k warranty made it a great deal. As a bonus, I needed a smog check and the shop right next door works with Superior, so they were able run the smog check while the truck was waiting for a tech to free up. read more

I got a chuckle from the review by the lady who was incensed and felt insulted by Tom's straight talk and helpful advice. I would encourage her to go elsewhere in the future since Tom is so busy that appts can sometimes take a while, but the wait is well worth it. He does try to explain the problems with the car and what it will take to find and fix it, but he's the best auto mech I've encountered in my 78 years and his repair prices are very reasonable. He works fast once he lays his hands on the car because he has so much work on the calendar and has work piling up on his appt schedule. His wife Angela is sweet and very helpful also. read more

What an outstanding opportunity, and experience in dealing with Tom and Angela at "Superior Automotive Repair". I previously took my Dodge Charger to the Dodge dealership, and they gave up within two days trying to figure out what was wrong with the vehicle. Tom is an honest, hard working mechanic. I highly recommend Superior Auto. It is a family owned business with the utmost integrity. We have taken our cars there several times over the years and never disappointed. They have a sign on their wall "pick two" (service, cost, time), well I received all three, and on a previous appointment, my truck did not pass smog- several other places misquoted the problem, Tom being a Toyota Mechanic expert knew exactly what the problem was, not only fixed it, but took it to the smog shop next door to make sure all was a go, and it passed. This was something he did not have to do! I would like to also comment on the review by Greg G on 3/8/2019. Anyone that has interfaced with Tom would highly disagree on Greg's description of Tom's character. I would encourage readers to disregard what he wrote. I had been using Tom for a few years. He was recommended by a coworker and at the time I was newly divorced and I had no idea who to use for my car repair. I want it known that Tom knows what he is doing but he has a lack of manners and consideration when it comes to talking to women. I don't pretend to know the first thing about car repair. If I did, I wouldn't need his services. I called on Monday letting him know my check engine light was on and explained that I had it checked with ORiely's and they said the issue was the camshaft sensor. He proceeded to scold me because I couldn't find the code on the print out and when I did he said "see was that so hard". I told him the cat was due for an oil change and he interrupted me just to talk down to me more and almost yelled at me. The manner in which he talked to me was as if I was a stupid mentally challenged person which I am not. I have been in there with my boyfriend and he certainly doesn't use that tone with him so my guess is it's a sexist thing. I get he is an older man and loves to hear himself talk about cars and all his expertise but he needs to mindful of his tone. It is due to his demeaning and undermining tone and insulting comments that he has lost my business. I know he is a busy man with a long list of clients. My business may be meaningless and he made sure to point out he was very busy. Still, was he too busy to be at least a courteous person? Maybe he was being a jerk so as to have less business? Not sure. And as I said, he knows his job well. I wouldn't expect him to know what I do. But I don't have to put up with crappy customer service. read more

Awesome shop. I have a 2000 Ford F-150. Blown Head gasket. Interestingly, Gosch Ford, handed me an estimate for $3400 and never even mentioned a blown head Gasket/block failure test, only that it needed the entire cooling system replaced. Purchased a replacement engine. Dropped truck and motor off Saturday Morning. I went on vacation to Maui for 8 days. Tom and Gang finished it by Noon on Wednesday. He also kept me up to date during the process. Also, the returnable core was neatly re-crated and wrapped for the return trip. So many other shops in this area are like Hotel California (You can drop it off any time you like, but it may never leave). Picked it up today and it ran perfect. Extremely thorough and knowledgeable. I almost gave up on car shops in the Temecula/Murrieta area. read more

Can't speak for their work but if attitude is any indicator, I would sooner let trained monkeys work on my vehicles. Had business in the same center with a Transmission Shop that I know and trust. Parked out in front of Superior was a 34 Ford, similar to the one I am working on so I decided to check it out. Did not come any closer than two feet and definitely did not touch. Blonde guy with a mustache came out to watch me I assume. Got to admit I am somewhat disheveled as I have been grinding and welding all morning but I understand Hot Rod etiquette. Who ever this guy is, he was condescending and preemptory and made a point of the customer is going to pick it up in a few minutes and that he didn't want anything to happen to it. I reassured him that I was just looking and that I was working on one of my own. He then replied "This is an Automotive Shop, NOT a Car Show. It was parked out front in the common drive and I was neither in his place of business or interfering in any way. I smiled and told him that he really needed to lighten up and left. Once again, DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS SHOP!!! If this is the way they treat fellow Automotive Enthusiasts, They DO NOT DESERVE your business. read more

Superior Auto came highly recommended. I HUGELY regret selecting them. I came because my 1989 truck would not pass SMOG and I knew I had a bad cylinder. Rather than attempting a repair on such an old engine, I selected Superior Auto for my Toyota engine swap. The price was higher than some (expensive), but I believed I was getting a good, quality job. When done, my truck would not pass SMOG and Tom required me to pay an additional $400 above his quoted price. Also they failed to properly repair something I paid for, and over the first year, I had problems requiring me to drive from Escondido back to Temecula. At 19,000 miles, a key part (idler bearing assembly) failed and I blew a head gasket. Despite paying Superior Auto $5,900, they refused to cooperate in a satisfactory resolution. My experience with them has crippled me financially. read more
