That said, I don't know if it is the lack of consideration and budget from the HOA or the lack of particular expertise and knowledge of the on-site technicians -- but our pool has gone from crystal clear blue to green algae bloom toxicity. The technicians have been asked on-site to scrub and vacuum - -and we were told, that's not my job. So I guess in our case, the pool is not quite so brilliant. Maricopa Environmental Services even came out and said that while the PH and chlorine are satisfactory, anyone could get sick or infected from the algae and mold that is not scrubbed. Hopefully they will do better or recommend to the HOA a better servicing. Aint NO ONE wanna get into that pool....look at the photos. Hopefully Brilliant Pools can help make our pool brilliant again. I am writing this review for James from Excellent Pool Service because he came to my home to fix someone else's crappy work and install a new pump that I had purchased from another pool service guy back in September. The other guy ghosted me and never installed it. Even though James doesn't service my area, he came to my home as a favor to help make things right with my pool equipment. I'm so happy James agreed to come by. James worked fast, efficiently, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. He installed the new pool pump, fixed the previous piping, and even painted everything so it looked nice. His fees were reasonable, he explained everything to me, and since he doesn't service my area he provided a recommendation for someone he trusts that can provide regular service and future repairs. I cannot thank James enough for his extensive knowledge and professional service. I feel relieved that I finally got an installation/repair worthy of a positive review. I highly recommend James at Excellent Pool Service to anyone who needs repairs. My pool pump area looks so much better because it was repaired by a true professional who actually cares about his work, his reputation, and the reputation of the pool industry as a whole. The pool industry needs major work in repairing its reputation because of people who do terrible work and those who take advantage of people like me who do not have a lot of knowledge about their pools, but James gave me hope that this industry does have really good people who care about doing what is right. I have or had 2 properties that were serviced by Desert Art Pools and they are a HUGE disappointment! I had a repair requested that was never completed and when I called back I was told it wasn't the same area leaking. Which is incorrect, the same area is still leaking,. They say they provide a complete service report and the initial leak and subsequent leaks were not reported. We were disappointed earlier this year with conflicting pricing quotes and services provided. However we did like our maintenance tech and decided to give them another chance. Fast forward - While away attending to personal business our electric heater was mistakenly turned on by the maintenance tech and left running for 2 weeks . I received a huge bill of $1000 from APS and when I called APS they pinpointed the source of the excessive use of energy to the spa running so long approx 360 continuous hours. APS was able to tell us the exact date and time it was turned on ( yes the time and date Desert Art Pools came out to service our pool). We can see a mistake happening the first week, but on the next visit the following week, it should have been turned off or at least a phone call to let us know it was on, and ask how to shut it off if he didn't know. But at the end of week 2, the maintenance tech did call and asked if I could turn the pump off remotely. I can turn off the pump remotely. But not the spa. Which I turned off myself the next day upon my return. I checked the spa water temp and the water was warm, but not hot, so here we go with another problem and we're hoping an element wasn't burned out as a result. Now,after paying the bill already, my husband and I brought this issue to the owner. His immediate response was that tech 's shouldn't turn on the spas at all. The next response is that there should have been a charge to turn on the spa. Ok, fine with that, if there was a charge, no one said there was. Im assuming he thought we wanted to have him pay the bill. We weren't asking for $1000 our normal bill would run $250- $300. We like our tech very much and are very understanding of human error. Our thoughts were to have the company provide a small credit each month to go towards the bill. He just said he was "calling it" and discontinuing service. Never gave or offered any sort credit or compromise. He blamed the victims and packed up and left and not even servicing our pool. Then his office sent invoices for payment. In addition to the bill, we are left with the the spa not heating like it had prior to the 360 hours of continuous running. And it was just installed in March of 2024! We were looking to the professional to provide guidance on what to do next, who should we call? We aren't pool heating experts, we're retirees! Randy, said that has 300 pools service and in so many words we were not worth the time and effort. I cant imagine any other business based on customer service who would have the gall to be so insulting. This company lacks management, customer relations training and good old fashioned ETHICS, and I would not recommend them to anyone. I should have given more thought to the other 1 star reviews. I know next time. I expect another "Cover Myself" response, or untruths in response to this review. But that will be just another case in point.

Our pool was blue but needed to be vacuumed and prepared for swimming after the winter. The technician told us we needed to buy a robotic vacuum and said the owner would let us know what model we should purchase. We never heard about the vacuum again. I showed the technician where our pole vacuum was along with the hose but they never vacuumed the pool despite there being significant detritus at the bottom of the pool from the winter. Over the period of the next few months the pool gradually got more cloudy and eventually turned pea green. We asked if there was anything we needed to be doing between services other than emptying the skimmer baskets and never got any response. We have a smart pool timer and we were never asked how many hours the pool pump was running for (12 hours) nor were we ever told what it should be set to. The owner told us we needed an algae treatment and said they would call the following Monday to discuss options. We never got a call about the algae treatment and the technician never came back. I called and left a voicemail asking what the status of our account was and for an explanation for the technician not showing up. The owner immediately sent a text message to my wife saying we probably needed to drain our pool. He told us he would get back to us soon but never called or texted again. The owner is no longer returning our calls or text messages. We are now looking for another company and our pool is disgusting.
