This company installed a high-efficiency, EPA-rated woodstove insert that does not heat the room it was installed in. I was told it was the "best bang for the buck" and a reliable unit, but that has not been the case. When I raised concerns after installation, I was told nothing was wrong and was even accused of using unseasoned wood--which was not true. Instead of taking responsibility or offering a solution, they dismissed my concerns and refused to help. Now I am stuck with a unit that doesn't work. Two years ago Superior Stone installed a new gas insert into our fireplace. At the time of instill it was suggested that we get an extender for the battery box. I asked the installer to order the part for us. It was never ordered. This year we called to have the fireplace cleaned. They were able to come the same day. We set an appointment for 3PM because we had another appointment at 4PM. The service tech showed up at 3:25 and without the the extension box. After he left there were oil spots all over our new driveway. My husband spent 2 hours scrubbing to get the oil off. Upon calling to complain I got nothing but a run-a-round. They wanted video proof of their truck in our driveway plus pictures of damage which was already cleaned. They gave me a HUGE run a round. NEVER AGAIN will we use this company read more

To say I am infuriated with our experience is an understatement. They installed a wood insert into our fireplace in August 2020. In October 2022, a chimney sweep discovered that they did not install it correctly, and he could not get his brushes up the chimney. I called Superior Stone, only to be told I'd "receive a call back" - of course no one reached out to me. Our chimney sweep graciously returned to fix the installation issues, and he discovered a melted flashlight had been left on top of the wood stove (batteries still included), and that they did not seal their liner, allowing water to get in and causing rust damage. Not only is our fairly new wood insert damaged, they created a massive fire risk to my home by leaving the flashlight - had it not been discovered, it would have exploded and caused a housefire. When we contacted Superior Stone THREE more times (twice by phone, once with emails that included pictures of the rust damage and melted flashlight), we were then told the "flashlight was simply an accident," and that it was "not their responsibility to seal the chimney liner" that THEY installed. The rust I can deal with - we will absolutely be going to someone else to fix the liner issues, as apparently they are only willing to install chimney liners, but are not responsible for sealing them. But when it comes to the flashlight, their negligence and lack of acknowledgement is appalling. I am pregnant with a one-year-old at home, and am FURIOUS that they caused such a risk to my family and are refusing to take responsibility for any of it. read more

The most disappointing work that I ever had done in 25 years of renovating houses. I had a fireplace refaced, The job was so poorly done, that pieces began falling off the fireplace after 1 week, that another contractor had to be hired to do the job correctly, this is after 2 visits where their own workers who, after seeing the shoddy job that was done claimed that their firm could not have done the original work. I spoke to the owner several times , if only the work his firm did was as good as his sales pitch. Find another masonry that stands behind their work, and does a proper job the first time. I brought a sample of gravel from my yard. I was told it matched one they had on display. I compared my sample to they're sample and it looked close. When the gravel was delivered it looked nothing like mine. I called them to inform them of this problem, and was told that's what you ordered we can't help you and they refused to visit me to address the problem. One more thing I gave them the measurements of the area I was working with, so I could order the correct amount of gravel. I was told I needed three yards. That amount was way too much. I'm not in the business so I trusted they're knowledge. I will not recommend them to anyone and needless to say I will never do business with them again. read more

Bought a wood stove from them. We shopped around first. Superior was the best price by far. I wasn't sure what they recommended and sold us would be sufficient to heat the house. Didn't take long to realize they were accurate in their recommendation. Everywhere else just wanted to sell us the most expense stove available. Very happy with them. Went to this place last Saturday to look into a propane fireplace. Told the guy that we had a minor leak in the chimney which he said would have to be rectified first by a mason. He told us the price and acted like we couldn't afford it. He said he would give our information to a mason who would call us back. Needless to say there's been no call back or anything. We bought an older home with natural Gas fireplace which obviously stopped working shortly after we moved in We checked out local fireplace dealers and they came to our house with quotes of $5000 to $10000. We felt very discouraged because we are retired and could not afford that. When the owner of Superior fireplace came to give us a quote he suggested that he could replace tHe old parts and at a much lower price would have it as good as new We liked him immediately for not trying to Talk us into a new insert. We made the right choice His service men were on time, competent and came back when we did not understand how to fix itt when the pilot light went out TheIr technician and partner are great They put out drop cloths and left with no mess at all remaining. I highly recommend this Company. The owner is iinvolved with each sale and installation The price and quality is outstanding. Decent quality of work, but be careful if you're dealing with thier interior fireplace side or thier exterior landscape side... same company....same building....but completely different business... I had them do 2 wood stoves in my last two houses. Most recently I needed chimney repair in addition to the insert install. They quotes me one price...then added $500 because they forgot something.... then added $1400 because they forgot something else!! I never saw the invoice that added $1400 to the job (I can post every single email too if needed) and they claim they had a girl in the office that wasn't invoicing correctly, who they fired.... Ultimately that was thier excuse for why they charged me $1400 more than they quoted. They were TOTALLY unorganized with thier visit for the quote, as well as setting up timing for thier work! They do good work, but should be absolutely embarrassed how they conduct business... was the worst experience I've ever had... and I spent over $8k between the insert install and chimney repair! This company is an absolute joke...and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

They will send techs who don't speak English, scam you out of the first 200$ and then only get worse from then on. Was put on hold and then told I was hearing things because that offer did not exist. It's as if they removed the offer because when I called back to confirm what I heard the offer was removed. This company is unprofessional and does not deliver when they say leaving you high and dry. I made an appointment for a mulch delivery and they never showed up and never called. The appointment was made two months prior to installation date and now I have no mulch for my large Memorial Day BBQ. The company said oh we'll nothing we can do when I called them. I couldn't be any more disgusted by the lack of Customer Service by this Company. I started calling them in June to schedule an appointment to get my pellet stove repaired and cleaned. My information was taken and I was told I would be contacted as soon as they were taking appointments. After 2 months I contacted them again, gave them my information as well as sent pictures of my stove and was told as soon as they could give me an estimate I would hear from them. Another week went by so I contacted them today. After looking up my request and email, they informed me that they can't fit me in. They will be unable to service my unit. Now I have to scramble to find someone due to this DISREPUTABLE Company. Please, if you do not have to, do NOT use this Company. They are NOT by any means Customer centric.
