This place is a Hayward staple, at least for aquarium aficionados. It has a great assortment of fish, plants, and supplies overall. The owner is very knowledgeable and honest about the hobby. All you have to do is ask. Prices are good for the quality and variety of fish. The surrounding area can come odd as a little suspect but don't let that deter you from visiting. Asked for the fish we needed then the guy said "not for this rank right." Made me realize this guys cares for the fish here which made us loyal customers. Small store but plenty of parking out front. There are many tanks with a great selection of so many different fish. The African Cichlids here have strong coloration. Also some exotic fish that you don't see every day here too. Great prices and all of the fish are active and healthy. There is a row of marine fish too but majority is freshwater. read more

They also have a great assortment of plants for anyone to start a beautiful tank. I occasionally find some used tanks as well which I can use for a breeding project. Their fish are sick. 2/3 of the fish I bought there got sick and died. I bought goldfish from other shops like aquatic collection and they are all healthy. I talked to the owner and he start yelling at me. So disappointed. Won't get there again unless they make up for it. If they make up I'll update my review. read more

I had male guppies in a 10 gallon tank, all but one had died of apparent old age and I was planning to get some more when COVID hit so for a year and a half I had a tank with just one guppy in it. Finally came here to restock once we were vaccinated. Wanted a bit more variety in my tank, so I got a dwarf gourami, three different colors of cherry shrimp (red, yellow, and blue) along with three new male guppies. That was the second week of June. Every week since, a new guppy started hanging out near the surface, struggling to swim, then within two days was dead, while the remaining ones continued to swim around perfectly happy. No visible spots or bloating or anything on the fish. Tested my water every day and nothing was wrong. At first I thought my previous old guppy had gone crazy being alone for so long and was harassing the new ones (the gourami left them alone), since I did catch him pecking at the 2nd to last one before it succumbed, but then last weekend that original guppy died of the same malady. Now I've just got my shrimp and gourami left. Now I'm a little hesitant to come back and get more from here. They do have great variety of freshwater fish, my daughter loves looking at all the fish, and I want to support local stores. My gourami and shrimp from here are doing great, but it feels like rolling the dice whether the additional fish will live more than a month. read more

I like this shop. We got our first beta fish for my son who was 4 yrs old then. The employees are very helpful. This place is quite small but it has a lot of aquarium stuff, fishes and even dog stuff. The staff are very knowledgable. We make mistakes of going to petco for aquarium stuff but it definitely is a very smart move going here. Been here a few times and my son has been excited to see so many different fishes. From my years of patronage, Superway is overall a great all-around aquarium shop! One of the best selections of supplies and aquatic stock in the area. They're currently in a small footprint of a physical location for now but dont judge this book by it's cover! The place is comfortably jam-packed to serve you. I have found many hard to find things found no where else here. They even sell pre-owned aquariums. For cash payers, they pay sales tax, the price you see is the price you pay rounded up to the nearest dollar. Knock on wood, I heard there's plans for a new location in the works. Customer service is great from their staff, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Not a single visit I have not been greeted or offered assistance. If you don't see it, always be sure to ask. It really pains me to give them a 4-star review but the only thing keeping them away from a full-on 5-star review is the quality and health of their aquatic fish stock. On a couple occasions I have seen outbreaks of Ich and disease in their tanks. I do not believe they would sell said fish to customers and were simply unable to take away from customer-view due to space constraints with their smaller shop; opting to treat and medicate in display tank out of necessity. In addition, it seems the owner who orders the aquatic stock, has an affinity for bargain-fish that would be perfectly fine for the average fishkeeper but the enthusiast/ more scrupulous buyer would not go near with a 10-foot pole. Priced accordingly of course. Nonetheless, I have seen and partook in high-grade finds from here though! Always be sure to check-in, you'll never know what you'll find. As with this hobby, it's always a treasure hunt. read more

Came in to purchase plants and betta for my newly set up 10 gallon tank. Every time I inquired about a plant listed on their tank, the reply I received was a bored and annoyed sounding "sold out". If things are sold out and they don't know when it will be back in stock I don't know why they bother keeping the item listed on the tank. The feeling I recieved from the man helping me felt as if I was already expected to know what was in stock and just hurry up so he could finish my purchase and go about his day. I finally found a few plants on my list that they did have and picked out a betta. I tested my water and made sure all parameters were good and acclimated my betta before adding him into the tank. He didn't last 5 days. read more

UPDATE: 1 out of 4 survived they died the next day I bought panda corydoras and they have fin rot, i'm treating them hopefully they don't die. Never coming to this store again, everything is expensive and fish are sick. read more

Oh Dang!!!!! Like I just walked into an episode of HOARDERS! The place is packed tite! There's stuff everywhere. I asked for help finding an item and literally did zig zags throughout the store following the worker as he went to show me the item. Decent freshwater, as well as saltwater fish selection. They have everything you need here, it seems like. It'll just take you a minute to find it. So if you dont get claustrophobia, this is the place for you! P.S. They had the biggest hermit crab I've even seen in my life about the size of my fist!!! read more

Highly recommended. My husband only goes here. Their prices are cheaper, but most importantly, their fishes are all happy because of good water quality. Other aquarium stores would rather conserve water and make their fishes suffer, so when they're finally introduced to good water from somebody's home, they'll likely go into shock and die. A little better than your average fish store if you are into freshwater. Tanks are pretty clean and the employees seem eager to help. However, if you are into saltwater don't come here unless you are already in the neighborhood. I give them credit for at least having some liverock, softies, and lps. Their coral is slightly overpriced but the fish are reasonable but not a great selection. Probably an honest 3.5 star. I rounded up because I applaud what they are able to accomplish with a limited amount of space. Tough business to be in. read more
