It was just OK too expensive for a plain burger I had really high expectations for this place and was disappointed

We were asked to wait for 20 to 25 mins, but it took more than 45 mins for food to arrive! Burger was very bad, chicken was not at all grilled, it was as good as raw piece of meat, I was not able to bite it! Very disappointed with the food quality! Others in my group ordered Phoenix burger, it was tasteless with just so much red chillies. We also ordered fries for the table, which did not come even after 1 hour eventually we had to cancel it because we were already done with the food & drinks by that time! We complained about the food and the staff was not very receptive of the feedback & did not even apologised or said no comforting words, which was very rude! Overall a bad experience for us! Would not recommend it if you are a good chicken burger/ chicken sandwich fan! read more

Honestly idk how this place has a 4 star rating they honestly aren't even all that literally tastes like frozen food that's deep fried a place that's so close to the ocean doesn't serve fresh calamari ? They literally brought me calamari to the table that looked like frozen fish sticks so disappointing I knew it was a sign to not order food when we were in line and someone came in complaining for a remake on a burger they had ordered don't recommend unless you wanna regret spending money on disappointing food never going again I wish I could give it less than 1 star read more

If you read my review or Bulgogi, you will figure out why and how we walked into this place! On Christmas Eve, it was pouring. My family and I were looking for parking. We walked into Bulgogi, but we were met with very poor service. We walked out and walked right into this place. The table host was amazing. Very prompt brought us the menus, had us sit down. When I had a clarifying question right off the top asking for room temperature water and vegetarian options - she said yes we have both. I said thank you. She said she'll give us a few minutes to order and she left... We ordered burgers and fries, and my nephew had a beverage with his order. She showed us the table with condiments and sauces etc. The food was great! The veggie burger was great!! The fires had a nice touch to it - crisp!! Ambiance is great, the wall photos are amazing. The bathroom was clean. There was lots of refills on water, thoughtful of her. We didn't have to ask her she brought it. The table host had a very cheerful disposition, just the right, kind of attitude for a holiday and for rainy weather, and in general for any business!!!! Must try, I recommend this place! read more

I've been wanting to try Sur Burger for a while, since I live in the area and I finally decided to stop by. I was amazed at how spacious the inside is. I initially thought it was just a small outdoor burger joint. The restaurant is very well decorated, and the staff is incredibly attentive. I ordered the Volcano Combo, and it was absolutely delicious. The chili cheese burger was a standout for me, it was messy, but worth jt!! Be prepared to grab extra napkins, though. It's been a while since I've had a burger like that and it did They have a variety of items on the menu there's so much to choose from, which means I'll definitely be back to try more. Heard good things about this place and was finally able to try couple days ago during my Monterey trip. I actually went twice, within a 2 day period. A nice restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service is great, they bring the food to where ever you are. Prices are steep, but exactly what you expect. I tried the Sur Bacon and the Sur Copeland Mushroom. Both were really solid burgers, I did prefer the regular burger over the mushroom one. Regular fries have great texture and solid flavor, maybe needs a little more salt. The garlic fries are pretty good too. They have a good selection of soda from their freestyle, and everything else is self-serve, ketchup, straws, salt pepper, etc. Good place! read more

We LOVED the crispy garlic fries but the burgers were bit dry and on the well done side. The Phoenix fish sandwich was also just ok. The service was very good from Ly though. It's a good sign when there's always a crowd. This warm and welcoming burger joint in downtown Monterey hits the mark every time. Some burgers/sandwiches are better than others though. Good: Classic Sur Burger Veggie Burger Chili Cheese Dog (pictured) is solid but not great Poor: The Spicy Sur; it's an Asian-style hot burger. My friend wasn't a fan but I didn't taste it personally, so keeping an open mind still! Overall the atmosphere is great for a nice dinner with family, friends, or both. read more
