The food was tasty but the issue was more with the service. One person on the food line seemed very annoyed to be working and was very stingy with toppings. I had to ask for lettuce three times... she would pick a few pieces at a time. They have an allergen menu on line which details which menu items have gluten. The salsa bar is nice too with at least 3-4 options. I would give this place another try in the future. read more

We've been longing for some Qdoba or Chipotle around here so we were excited to see this new place open. I'd rank this 3rd behind those two in the made-to-order Tex-Mex category (but still better than Moe's or Barberitos). We thought this place must've opened this week based on how things were running, but found out they'd been open over a month. Employees didn't seem to know who was supposed to be doing what, the area behind the counter was quite messy with toppings everywhere, and the line got very backed up due to an issue at the register. They were very busy tonight, but it was a Wednesday evening so I'd hate to see it on a busier night. On the plus side, the food was super fresh and tasty....other than the rice, which either hadn't been cooked properly or had dried out. Free chips and salsa bar with the meals, and free queso are a bonus, and the employees were all very friendly. We'll try it again, I'm sure, but I hope they work some things out. read more

So the misses and I tried this place out tonight and it was pretty good! I like the tortilla options. The burrito I ordered was pretty darn good except maybe a bit small, but everything was fresh and tasty as my wife likes to say. The restaurant was a little loud and hard to hear the staff when your trying to order, but they were busy and they need some sound dampening material to make it not as loud inside. I really liked the free queso option with chips and the salsa bar is pretty awesome also. I still think it falls right behind Qdoba on my list of made to order Tex-Mex places but they could over take it! It would be nice if they had a pork option to add to the meats, but all and all I thought it was pretty good and I'll be back. read more

I've frequented this locations a few times for lunch during the week. I decided to time us today because there's always an issue with getting the line down. We walked in around 11:27 and didn't officially check out/sit down to eat until 11:47. A lot of the issue is the flow of how they take their orders/not enough people. The girl helping us started the two people's orders in front of us, took my friend's order, mine, then the two people's behind me. Then she started putting together what each person wanted while taking more orders. However, she had to ask my friend three times what she wanted because she kept forgetting. I think they need another person so that one starts the order, the next begins it, then they can pass it off to the person that does the rest of the meal before checking out. Other than that the food is tasty enough, is fresh, and I love the fact you get free chips and salsa. read more

Surcheros has been fresh and delicious every time we've gone. Plenty of topping choices with a variety of tortilla flavors for burritos. I recommend the Surcheros sauce, it's like a chipotle ranch. The chicken has been very good the several times we've had it. Building is new and clean, queso is great, the chips are fresher than chipotle, though I admit that's not hard to beat. Over priced version of Moe's or Barberito's. Most definitely stay away during this Pandemic. Employees are not interested in working to say the least. Place an order online for takeout; only one item was correct when we arrived home and two burritos were missing. When I returned 25 mins later, I was scoffed at for asking them to remake. I remained calm; understood everyone is stressing during these times, but come on a mistake was made ; own it and correct it, that's all anyone expects. Upon second arrival home, neither of the burritos were what we ordered......just threw together what ever they felt like!!! Last $65 that will ever get from this family. read more

Very similar to Barbaritos. These could be sister companies. The only difference I would say is that I prefer Barbaritos tortilla chips.

Our favorite restaurant in town. Low cost and large portions. A variety of toppings, more than you can imagine.

The food here is pretty good, but the company is so stingy. My friend and I recently ate here and I was paying for both of our meals together as one order. I showed the cashier my student ID from the local college to get the 10% discount they offer (which takes less than $1 off per meal), and the cashier actually took the time to separate everything from my meal rather than apply the discount to the entire order, even though I was paying for both meals together just because my friend didn't have his student ID on him. They also charge extra $ for a dixie cup of Brunswick tap water. I mean, we're already paying for the overpriced burritos, can Surcheros chill with the nickel and diming every customer? read more

This is a strong three that could have been a four but the cons took away from it. Quality of the food was great but temperature was lacking... our food was not hot as it should have been. It definitely tasted better than it's competitors like Moe's and Chipotle. The chips were lacking. Some were undercooked others were a bit hard and some were perfectly warm and salted. This bothered me a bit because it simply means they are mixing the old with the new. The green salsa for the chips was Good. As for the Quantity of food it was lacking they were very light handed on the rice and black beans. Another con was the dine in bowls sit in paper... after a while the moisture from the bowl causes the paper to rip so if you're not careful you may scoop up paper with your food which is pretty gross. I definitely think they need a better alternative. Another downer was the fact that they charge for a plastic cup for water. Not everyone drinks sugar beverages, so to charge for tap water is pretty silly in my opinion. Finally, the s'mores quesadilla was ok but pretty sweet so beware ... this may be a diabetes dessert. read more

Come here with my husband three times a week. And we are never disappointed! BEST STAFF IN BRUNSWICK! Even if they were busy they still are as friendly as can be! We came in about mid lunch rush we were in and out with in ten minutes! Everything was so fresh! Free queso with the nachos! And free chips! You can't beat that! One thing they can fix is prolly how spicy the pico is but other than that this place is absolutely the fastest and friendliest place in town! Good job guys! Keep it up! read more

Very disappointed with this place. To be honest chipotle and Taco Bell are far superior. The quality is not great and there was meat slopped all over the serving area so it just looked very untidy. This place seems very disorganized and it was more expensive than chipotle for less quality food. read more

Oh me, oh my!! Surcheros is so fresh and yummy. Plenty of topping choices, as well as different tortilla flavors to choose from (for burritos). They also have salads, quesidillas other entrée choices. I highly recommend the Surcheros sauce, it's like a chipotle ranch, but not so spicy that my mouth & tummy are on fire. You can choose from 6 salsa flavors for your fresh chips. The price is comparable with similar restaurants (it is cafeteria style). I wanted to buy 5 burritos and ship them home!! I recently moved down to Brunswick from Atlanta. I was sad to realize that there wasn't a Moe's around here, so I was excited to find Surcheros. I was really looking forward to trying it, so I went on my lunch break. The staff was friendly and everything in the restaurant seemed clean. But, much to my disappointment, the food was just mediocre. Nothing had much flavor. Sadly, Surcheros won't be on my weekly lunch list. read more

Wow. Usually they are right on it in this place... normally service is excellent, they are fast, clean and food is great. With that being said.... today it was all horrendous. We walked in and we were the 2nd people in line. Ordered 2 burrito bowls and a burrito. Food prep was sloppy. Bins were empty. Squeeze bottles of sour cream were empty. Instead of getting rid of the empty bottle, she put it back and ran around looking for another one. Went back to the line, picked up the empty one and tried to use it again, and when she realized it was still empty, she again put it back and walked away. There were 4+ girls working that I saw.... 2 were wandering around not doing much, except talking. The girl at the register had food prep gloves on- with salsa and sauce on them- touching money and cards and then went right back to the food without changing gloves or washing her hands. Needless to say we didn't get drinks because we were pretty fed up @ that point. When we walked out there were 15+ people in line waiting and more walking in. We were definitely NOT impressed. I'm not sure if the opening enthusiasm that impressed us initially has worn off or the employees were just having an off day. I hope it's the latter. read more
