I would give them 0 stars if I could. Their service department lied to us numerous times and said we were next on their docket for repairs. 2 weeks came and went, and they have still not even started our boat. The staff was great. However the boat was not. We paid full price for a boat that had broken seats. Yes seats. Also in the first minutes of the rental actual full speakers were not even attached so they were falling out. Very disappointed to pay full price for about 65% of a boat. read more

We rented waverunners from the Surdyke location near Tan-Tar-A (1660 Yamaha Drive). We got the 4-hour rate by renting two waverunners for two hours. It was a great deal for me and my three friends. After about 90 minutes, we were pretty exhausted from gripping onto the waverunners on the choppy lake, so I can't imagine riding for much longer. Our check-in and check-out process was smooth and the staff was friendly. The waverunners were in good shape, save for the "OUCH!" stickers all over where others have scratched and dinged them up. Be mindful during your walkthrough to point out any scratches that aren't already marked so that you don't get hit up on the damage deposit. They said if you don't try to dock the waveunnners, you won't make any damage just from riding/jumping/splashing in the water, and we were fine on returning both units. I think we rented the smallest ones they have (VX110, maybe?) and I was able to get mine up to 49 mph in a quiet, still cove. If you aren't used to waverunning, that will be plenty of power! Our total with gas and tax was $271. I think that was a fine deal for the fun we had. read more

Frustrating experience and had all sorts of problems with a boat we rented. At one point we thought we would be stranded in the middle of the lake due to issues with the boat. It would run rough and die after it took about 4 or 5 tries to get it to started. We returned the boat halfway through our day. Surdyke refused to work with us on a partial refund. They did offer a small discount on a future rental, but after the terrible condition of the boat and the awful customer service, we would never be interested in returning. read more

Be very VERY specific with the mechanics if you're getting service done otherwise they will find extra stuff to charged for. Asked why a livewell may not run correct and got charged $64 to clean it out. Not to mention the $32 charged for 15 minutes to torque jack plate screws. 2 minutes to do the work and 13 to pick the dingle berries out their ass because they can't afford 2 ply with $120/hr labor charge. I purchased a 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 from Surdyke and was very excited about the bike. This is my first bike and was eager to ride and learn. The salesman was friendly and tried to be helpful. I left with my bike and was ready to get home and ride. After taking the bike for her first ride I noticed several issues right away.... 1 - There were more scuffs and scrapes than I had been made aware of or noticed in the showroom (since it had been dropped). They told me they replaced all the damaged parts after it had been dropped. The brake lever had some bad road rash as well as the master cylinder. Several of the plastics and pegs showed signs of sliding on the pavement. 2 - The handlebars were significantly bent (from being dropped) and the right side sat about 2" lower than the left. When I called the dealership I was told the bike was bought "as-is" (less than 24-hours after the sale). After a few phone calls they came back with I can purchase the bars at cost from them or get some from eBay for cheap. Once I said I would be leaving a negative review based on this they offered to send me a set free of charge. I was willing to accept everything up to this and leave a solid review (since they took care of the main issue) until I found the following problems. 3 - The headlight had also been broken during the drop and instead of replacing the housing, a handful of zip ties were used to reconnect the lower mounting tabs that had been broken off. Thus making the headlight aimed quite a bit off to the side. Now I am stuck with either dealing with this until the zip ties fail or spending hundreds on a new headlight. 4 - This would be the biggest safety issue I found with the bike. The throttle assembly must have been damaged when the bike was dropped because it sticks at whatever position it is released at. I thought at first it needed lubed, so I took it apart and clean and service the cables. Once they were moving freely I reassembled and checked the throttle once more, it was doing the same thing. I found by leaving it loosely secured to the bar that it will function as intended, but once I snug down the screws you can see the housing contort to the side and bind up the throttle. All of these issues should have been identified in the safety inspection I was told had been done. It furthermore should have been identified during the "once over' I was told all their bikes getting prior to seeing the sales floor. Being a first time bike rider I felt taken advantage of as I didn't know what all I was looking for while purchasing. I relied on them to take care of me and I don't feel that happened at all. I won't be going back to them and won't be suggesting them for anything after this. read more

If we could give zero stars we would. We bought "like new" wave runners and trailer. The dealer said they would be gone through, detailed and have everything done when we picked them up. We got them home, the batteries were each dead, the trailer's wheel bearings went out on the way home, and it turns out now, over a month later, they don't have cleared titles! Great! When my husband got them into his shop to actually detail them because they hadn't, he discovered the oil had not been changed. It was super dirty. Speakers were very loose, the cover to one doesn't fit (obviously they substituted something else). Too many things to list! What a fiasco! Horrible. read more

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the pontoon rented to us was borderline hazardous. The steering wheel had so much give in it that my husband had to pretty much turn it 360 degrees just to gain a slight turn. We had secured a pontoon rental for the day before from a different company in advance, but it rained all day so we didn't get to enjoy it (only used $20 of fuel). We were on family vacation and wanted to enjoy a full day on the water, so we decided to rent another pontoon for the upcoming day. The Surdyke rental was last minute, and this was the only pontoon they had left. My husband did not want to disappoint the 10 people with us, so he made do with the sloppy steering wheel, but he had to stop often to rest. Of course when we returned the pontoon we made the staff aware of the defective steering. We told them we would have returned it when we realized the issue, but we were entertaining family who have never been on the lake, and we knew the chances of getting a different pontoon on such short notice was unlikely, so we toughed it out. They apologized and said they would have it looked at. I hope this pontoon has been fixed or taken out of commission. read more

I am placing a review on here because the review section on Surdyke Yamaha's facebook page was deleted recently. My experience with Surdykes was not good. I purchased an odes utv in august of 2015. I questioned the quality of the machine because i have never heard of the brand and after inspection, i found a large stamp on the side that states "made in china". The silver tongued sales manager, Zach verbally promised that if i bought the machine, he would return my money if i got it home, rode it, and didnt like it. I purchased the Odes and did just that. As soon as i unloaded it at my house, i noticed the 4x4 wasnt working. I took it back and they fixed it and asked me to give the machine another try. I then took it out again right after it was fixed. The machine overheated 30 minutes into the ride. I then limped it back to the trailer and went straight to Surdykes. Needless to say, Zach's promise was conveniently forgotten when i asked for my money back and i had to resort to trying to contact the owner, Greg to resolve the issue. After 2 weeks of continuously trying to get ahold of Greg to talk about the issue, he finally agreed to a meeting. In the meeting, Greg told me that my only option was to trade in the broken/brand new machine in on another product that they sold. I reluctantly agreed. I traded in my odes plus more cash for a Yamaha waverunner and trailer. They did not have the titles that day but was promised they would be in my mailbox within 5 days. After calling continuously, I got both titles over 90 days later resulting in late title penalties. There were also many mistakes made on the waverunner paperwork that i had to fight to get resolved. There were many other, what I would consider "half-truths" told to me throughout the sales process to persuade my buying decision. I would give Surdykes a 1 star rating if it had not been for Greg working to somewhat resolve the issue. Beware of odes machines and promises made by sales staff at Surdykes. read more

Service is awful wouldn't recommend no one going here!!!! we rented a boat and they didn't open the back door when we did the walk around and as soon as we got on the water opened the back door it came off so we turned right around and went back next thing I know they said we had to pay for the door but when I talked to the manager Jeff he said we just fixed that door so if the door has already been broken onv they ain't fix it right or that should be something told to ppl and shown that okay we just fixed this door and made sure it was secured on there right!!!! No but instead he told I would have to pay even after his worker told him that he didn't open tht door like he did with rest of the boat. Then the young lady at the front attitude is so messy. I wouldn't recommend to my family and friends and we come every year. but that was my fault for not booking early with Duck Boat in the first place.. I should've knew they service was bad bec they still had boats available on a holiday!! No one should ever go here they all work together to get extra money out of people.. Never again read more

One of the fastest companies I worked with while ordering OEM motorcycle parts.. I ordered from two other companies online to shop around and Surdyke was about 2-3x faster on average, and they actually shipped the goods using the shipping method I selected. Its sad to have to mention that, but not everyone does the same. Additionally, their customer support was great. Whenever I had a concern or question I was able to speak to someone without sitting on the phone waiting for 10+ minutes listening to elevator music. At first I thought prices for OEM parts were a little high, but they seem to be mid-range compared to others. This did not bother me because their customer service is worth the additional cost. I would do business with them again. read more

My family and I rented a boat on a Saturday afternoon. Upon renting the boat, they told us the back gate had been broke for a year and were waiting for after the season to fix it. (It takes a year to fix a simple gate?) Arriving back to the docks we were in a no wake zone in idle, when a big speed boat sped past us creating a wake knocking the front right end side into the water. My sister had held onto the stayboard corner pad and her 4 year old son to keep them inside the boat when the gate of the boat burst opened. Water pressure pulled the corner pad out and the water pulled my sister and her 4 year old son into the lake and trapped them under the boat. We jumped in and pulled them out from under the boat to save them and thankfully my nephew had a life jacket on to help him swim. I will never forget their faces and how terrified my 4 year old nephew looked and how scared my brother in law and 7 year old niece was for her mother and brother. After we were rescued by Tan-Tar-A's boat crew. We arrived back to the boating dock. We were told we wouldn't have to worry about the rental fee for the emotional damage and faulty malfunction of their boat; which should have withstood the water pressure. But when we talked to the "assistant to the assistant manager" he told us "that's lake life for you on a Saturday. It'll be $800 for the damage." (This is on top of the rental fee) To the "assistant to the assistant manager" it's just parts, money and business. There was no compassion and no understanding from him. He did not care for the personal items we lost or the trauma we all experienced. To us, it was a life lesson to be thankful for the time we have on earth and also to never ever use or buy anything from Surdyke Yamaha. Thankfully, my sister and nephew our safe and alive; but they are lucky to be alive. If it weren't for the timing and compassion of the rescuers, the odds would've been against us and I wouldn't still have my sister and nephew. Please whatever you do, do not use or buy from this Surdyke Yamaha. Thank you for those who took the time to read this. read more

Beware buyers on purchasing helmets. make sure you order the correct size. I mistakenly order a size that did not fit and these folks wont do a switch on the helmets. This is there policy "There are NO returns on Painted Parts, Electrical Items, Closeout's, locks, keys, Speedo's/tachometers(KPH or MPH), seats, HDI product, Helmets, Buell parts, vendor direct special orders, any item requiring a VIN number to complete the order, aftermarket items, or discount bin (sold as is) items" $169.00 for a helmet that doesn't fit. read more

Bought a wave runner there, we've bought quite a few toys from them in the past, and they decided to not share there was a hole in the haul that would never be the same we've had to repair it multiple times. Have talk to 3 other people in our condo complex as well as an ex employee that has had similar experiences. The ex employee said they do that stuff with boats too. these guys are crooked. Don't go here. They sold us a broken side-by-side and had to take it back 3 times in the first 2 weeks. Their solution was to sell us a different one and offered to buy our broken one back for $9k less than what we purchased it for two weeks earlier. They are crooks and both the sales manager and service manager are two of the worst I've ever had to deal with. If you have to buy from Surdyke, at least go to the Chesterfield location. First, Was the bike I bought from Surdyke Yamaha ever actually checked over by a technician? Was it checked over and the issues not seen? Was It checked over and the issues not brought to the buyers attention? 2 are unethical and the other negligence. It has to be at least one of them. I Bought a used 2007 Yamaha WR 450 from them (Surdyke Yamaha, Osage Beach, Mo.). I have owned 12 off road bikes with this being my 13th off road bike and 5th Yamaha four stroke so I have no illusions about used dirt bikes and am knowledgeable of modern four strokes. When I was checking it out at the dealer it was pretty grungy but I was not concerned because it was from a supposedly reputable dealer and the sales person assured me that the bike had been gone over "very thoroughly by their service technicians. He could not get the electric start to work so I kicked it and it started fairly easily. I went ahead and bought it and was told I would have the paperwork in the mail within a couple of days. I got the bike home and put it in the garage but did not touch it because I wanted to wait until I had the title paperwork in hand. Two weeks later no paperwork so I call and was told that they had not gotten to it yet. So almost three weeks in I finally have the paperwork. everything looks good so I start cleaning the bike up and looking at what I want to do to it. First off I see that the rear shock is blown and a fork seal is blown. Okay then I check the air filter and it fell apart in my hands. then I notice there is a hole burned through the air box approximately 3 inches by 4 inches. There were some other issues but nothing not to be expected on a used dirt bike. I contacted the sales person on a Friday who told me he would contact the owner and get back with me by Tuesday. I called Tuesday at 5 p.m. and was told the sales manager had said they could not help me, what did I expect from a used dirt bike. I re stated the fact I was told it had been checked out by a technician. After some back and forth the sales person said he would talk to the owner. Wednesday I get a call saying the owner had agreed to buy an air box and send it to me. I now have to wait then change out the air box myself and also fix the fork seals (approx. 60.00 for OEM plus fluid and time. and another 200.00 plus to fix the shock. and was told again "It is a used dirt bike" This not what customer service is supposed to be about I am very dissatisfied with the end result read more

I am in the Army stationed at Ft Leonard Wood which is an hour from this dealership, I drove out to Osage Beach looking for a motorcycle and ended up buying a BRAND NEW 2015 KTM RC390. 4 days after my purchase I kept getting a low battery warning, drove back to the dealer (an hour one way from Ft Wood) and dropped the motorcycle off. 2 days later they tell me the stator is bad and needs to be replaced on my BRAND NEW motorcycle. One week later I get a call from Surdyke saying its fixed and ready to pick up. After driving all the way out to Osage Beach to pick it up, the next day I ride the motorcycle to work on base and it stalls on me, leaving me stuck in traffic twice having to pull over and start back up. It does the same thing 2 days later and by this point I am sick of this motorcycle. Surdyke tells me they cant do anything about it because when it dies in traffic it doesn't throw an engine code and KTM told them they cant start troubleshooting without it throwing the code. I go to Surdyke Monday the 22nd with my Lieutenant to try and get my money back because my BRAND NEW lemon motorcyle that has 400 miles on it, keeps leaving left on the side of the road. And the best that Zach (sales manager) could do is putting me out over $2,000 less than what I paid. Absolutely sick of Surdyke, will NEVER buy anything from them again.
