After 20 years of not skateboarding, I decided to pickup skateboarding again. I stopped in Surf and Skate on Thursday April 30th to purchase a skateboard. I was greeted by Sonny as soon as I walked in who was super cheerful and eager to help me. I wanted to build my own board instead of buying a complete one like how I did when I was younger. Sonny was really helpful and knowledgeable and helped me picked out the right size board 8.5 and correct wheels for my skating goals. She also recommended the reds bearings which I loved because they spin super fast. We came back the next day May 1st with my 7 year old daughter and she picked out her own board too. Sonny was really patient with her and helped her pick out and build her board as well. Sonny was also the only employee working and had 4 other customers inside the store but was doing an awesome job job multitasking. I work in management and I could tell how passionate and knowledgeable Sonny was. I was impressed with her customer service skills. My daughter and I built a closer bond thanks to skateboarding and been skating everyday ever since! THANK YOU SONNY! She deserves a raise! read more

Went into Surf & Skate today for the first time. Immediately reminded me of a boardwalk shop I used to frequent at the beach. Huge selection of well priced beach apparel, skateboards and scooters, both for novice and Pro! I needed some help with my grandson's scooter. Bob Mitchell, the owner, greeted me when I came into the store and made me feel right at home. Even though he doesn't really deal with powered scooters, Bob took a look at my grandson's scooter, worked for about 30 minutes and was able to fix the scooter! My son lost the bolt and a spacer for his rear axle on his scooter. Dude in the shop hooked us up with the little parts and hand sanded the spacer to even it out with the one he had. Place is awesome and always ready to help. Will go back whenever I can. read more
