Our first experience was very good-I'd made reservations online, but there was a glitch, and when we arrived they did not have our reservation. They still accommodated us, and found a table, even with a very full house. The front of the house did this all without making a big deal or a lot of hubbub, and made us feel very welcome. We decided to hold off on a review until we got the chance to go back for a second visit. The food was even more delicious and the staff made the experience even more enjoyable than the first time! We started with the strawberry spinach salad both times. Honestly, I have been thinking about this fresh, beautiful, bright salad since our first visit. I could eat this every single day and still crave it for my next meal. I had the pork chops the first meal-they were rich, and savory without being heavy. My husband had the Korean braised short ribs. They had great Korean/Hawaiian flavors without being too sweet, and were so tender. Tonight we started with the spinach/strawberry salad. I told my husband I would be making all my friends come here to share this salad with me at least twice a week. He ordered the short ribs again, and I had the Ali'i mushroom & spinach ravioli. The consistent quality and flavor of the short ribs from our first visit was exactly what my husband ways hoping for. Perfect balance of sweet and savory, and so tender. My ravioli was a perfect balance of earthy flavors, texture, and herbal sweetness. I promised myself that I would not eat too much, so I would have something to take home. I kept that promise, but just barely. The roasted shaved garlic, eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini and Ali'i mushrooms with the soft spinach and cheese ravioli was delightful. I could have eaten every bite, and the portions are very generous, but I wanted to savory the flavors one more day. We both saved small portions of our leftovers for tomorrow. I also want to make mention of the warm, welcome and great service from all the staff. Our server was Dillon. He was attentive and welcoming to every table. He was relaxed, friendly, and lighthearted. And the bartender who has been there for many years, made sure drinks were served and plates were cleared. My daughter had the mahi mahi and ate every bite - which is saying a lot for my picky eater! I had the rib eye which was definitely a splurge but oh-so-worth-it. It was fun to have the blow torch melt the herbed butter! We also added a couple of sides: lobster fried rice (yum!) and broccolini (also good but not super special - however it was good to get some greens!). The bread that came with the dinner is a dark Ube dinner roll. I loved dinner rolls and there are Ube paste in the middle. It was delicious and unique. For dinner, I ordered the Coconut Red Curry Lobster Bisque, the 16oz ribeye, and a crab fried rice. For the Ribeye, I always get medium rare but I want my wife to try some too so I was thinking I should give in and get medium. Our server did us a solid and asked the chef to chopped the ribeye in half so we get half medium rare and half medium. The service staff sure went above and beyond to provide the best dinner experience possible. The Curry Lobster Bisque was very unique. I loved the soup because I want to try new things. My daughter and wife didn't like it as much though, probably because they don't like the Thai curry flavor. They prefer Japanese Curry normally. The Ribeye was well cooked and they have a chunk of herb butter on top. The server came by with a blow torch to help melt the butter. The presentation was great. However, the entire time I was thinking to myself "please don't over cook my steak with that torch..." haha. They even give me a huge bowie knife size steak knife to cut. It's only a few minutes walk from the Hilton Grand vacations club. The servers were super friendly and helpful. We ordered their burger and some wings. The food was pretty good. And the cost was very reasonable for Hawaii. Overall, it has a sports bar beach vibe with several TVs playing the current game. I'd recommend you should try it, if you're staying nearby.

Was a little simple though (i.e. no lettuce or tomatoes, though did come with one deep-fried onion ring and cheese). Fries were pretty good! * Luana Roll (4/5): This is their signature roll and I thought it was good but wasn't anything special. Probably not worth $30. * Double Crunch Roll (4/5): Again, good roll but nothing special and didn't particularly love it. ------ SERVICE: * Fine service, though the waiter took a long time to check in on our table. We weren't in a rush so it wasn't a problem, but it was strange. * Note that their kitchen is not located nearby and so the waiter has to go to a kitchen downstairs before bringing the food up. That means that service can be a little slower at times. ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Really nice ambiance. It's a balcony right off the main lobby where you check-in, and there are lots of comfy lounge chairs and small tables to match. The lobby and the lounge are both technically on the 3rd floor of the resort, so you can overlook the rest of the resort including the pool, beach, and ocean. * The live music at night is nice, both if you're dining at the lounge or just returning to the lobby area after a long day out. * There's also an indoor bar area next-door to the lounge with a pool table. The pool accessories are in rough shape (only 1 usable pool stick) but anyone is able to set up the table and begin playing. Despite being here during the holidays, this table was surprisingly available for most of our stay. * Every night there's a traditional Hawaiian ceremony where torches are lit at sunset and someone blows a conch in all directions. The conch blowing happens on this balcony, so if you're seated at the lounge around 5 pm, you'll have great seats of the short ceremony.

Overall, you're paying resort prices here but it's not outrageous. If you're looking for a drink or some apps in the evening, check out Luana Lounge. They are open til 11pm.
