2 for service only employees were welcoming and kind. The Food is Not good I've given this place 2 chances. And that was the last time I'm donating my money. Surf tacos are NO BETTER than Taco Bell, they were out of crunchy tacos this time. (Not that it would have made a difference) tacos are extremely over priced. I ordered 12 tacos & got a bunch of chips lol and bad tacos. For $90 This is NOT a representation of Mexican,Latin or anything close to authentic tacos also guys please add some seasoning to your rice and beans you can do that I promise.

I feel like this place is super overrated and people hype it up way too much. I guess it is famous because it is located down the shore. I am a huge fan of Mexican Food and when I eat Mexican Food I expect a lot. I guess you can say I am a hard critic when it comes to it because i have had such amazing Mexican food before. Price: the prices are okay... they range from $5-$12. If you are not that hungry you can grab a taco and chips for around $5 but if you are super hungry you can grab a taco salad for about $11. When i went i decided to go with the taco salad and it wasn't as flavorful as i wished it was. It was just average for me. However, Surf Taco does have a pretty friendly staff. One of my favorite things about it is the salsa bar. You can grab any type of salsa you like with your meal.

This was not what I had hoped :/ the menu had some nice options and cool flavors choices (teriyaki tacos sounds yummy), but the ingredients were not very fresh. The cheese definitely came from a bag and didn't satisfy me. I would call this decent Tex-Mex at best. Cute decor!

Don't get me wrong; I am big Surf Taco fan, and I go to this and many other locations. For my reviews of the other locations, I always give 5 stars, and they deserve it. It's just that this is one of the busier locations in the summer, and they get very, very busy. They have a small counter and a small seating area, and they struggle to keep up with the crowds. I understand that space in Seaside Park is very expensive, but at some point they need to manage the line better or think about expanding. The food is still very good. I think that Surf Taco fills a need for higher quality fast-casual food with a fun seashore theme. I also think that this is one of the very few places to grab a decent meal quickly in the entire Seaside area that is not overpriced and poor quality.

YAAASSSS surf taco season. My boyfriend has a beach house walking distance from this location so we've gone a couple of times. Amazing tacos- I got garlic shrimp and chicken! They come with chips and you choose the salsa you want. We got a side of waffle fries too! They were so crispy and hot. Just the way fries should be. I don't like Dasani water (Poland Spring all the way!) but that's all they have for water which is a bummer. They have fountain sodas and honest teas for other drinks though. But back to the tacos and burritos...amazing food, quick bite, super casual to go to after a day at the beach!

After a long day of baking in the sun, Surf Taco completes your day! We spent most of our day on the beach tanning and drinking this Sunday, and we were extremely hungry! A cup of refreshing soft drink and something flavorful and spicy were what we yearned for. Coming here for the first time, I was impressed by their service and menu - it was kind of similar to Shaka. It wasn't like the usual tex mex type but more of a so-cal mex. Many of their tacos and burritos had fish like mahi mahi or fried cod. Of course, they also had the chicken, beef, and steak! I got the combo #4 which has one fried cod taco, a burrito, a soft drink and chips! Honestly, I definitely had better tacos before, but it was very satisfying meal at the moment. Once we ordered, it was immediately delivered to our table! It took them less than 5 min! The food was bland but they had 4 different hot sauces to spice up the food.

We were really…read morebummed when Charlie's closed, as we've had a summer home here since the 90s and Charlie's was always a place to go and grab a special treat. Not to mention, I love supporting a small business such as the local ice cream parlor down the shore. The new owners definitely put a fair amount of work into this place to distinguish it from the old Charlie's. The ice cream shop is completely rebranded - the decor is modernized, sleek, and clean, which leaves an upscale feel to the place. I particularly love the mermaid scale wallpaper - very cute and beachy. It's also very brave of the Salty Scoop to market both ice cream and coffee because those are two very different things that are sold at different times of the day. However, while I am glad that there is an ice cream parlor here, I can't see myself or my family regularly returning to the Salty Scoop like we did Charlie's. For one, they offer a lot less flavors then other local ice cream parlors in the area. While their flavors are eclectic and interesting, the selection seems a little sparse compared to their biggest competitors (the place has two other local shops both north and south of it). But the biggest flaw of the Salty Scoop is its lack of soft ice cream. I'm not really sure why the owners have decided against having a soft ice cream machine - perhaps its because they want to showcase their fun hard flavors? - but I think it's a huge missed opportunity, especially considering this is an ice cream establishment down the shore. Last year, the Salty Scoop opened late in the season, and it had me wondering if they would add in a soft ice cream machine this year - not so. It just leaves me scratching my head. We usually keep ice cream in our freezers so hard ice cream is not something my family seeks. And while the ice cream here tastes fine, IMO it's not out-of-this world amazing that would keep me hooked and coming back for more (like, say, a gelateria). In addition, considering the whole kitsch to this place is 'cones and coffee,' I was a little disappointed to see there are basically two separate menus for ice cream and coffee. You can do A LOT with ice cream and coffee, especially in this modern social media age where a single, cool-sounding item can go viral online. (How about offering a coffee-cream shake that combines coffee and one of the fun flavors of ice cream?) One last thing - I noticed they added a branded Playa Bowls menu to their selection, which is an interesting move to get customers in on their part. While it is nice to have more selection, it yet again leaves me scratching my head and wondering what the true identity of the Salty Scoop is. Regardless, I really hope this place does well and makes it - especially since there is steep competition in the area when it comes to ice cream! The property would truly feel empty without an ice cream parlor. Bottom line - if you're a local in the area that is craving a scoop of ice cream, this will scratch that itch, although you may need to go elsewhere if you're seeking a little more selection.

An associate--who appeared to be new, as I've visited this location many times before--approached me and handed me a bag. She said something while doing so, but it was unclear. Assuming the order was mine, I took the bag and left. As soon as I got into my car, I received a phone call from someone who I believe was the manager, stating only that I had taken the wrong food. I immediately returned to the store and handed the bag back. The manager explained that it belonged to the other customers who had been waiting. He then asked me if I had opened the bag, which I had not--I had only just reached my car when I received the call. The other customers looked through the bag and said they would still take the food. Throughout this interaction, the manager did not apologize or take accountability for the mistake made by his staff. I was left standing there feeling as though I had done something wrong, and the situation made me uncomfortable, especially with the way the other customers were looking at me. I understand that mistakes happen, and I'm not upset about the mix-up itself. What was disappointing was the manager's lack of professionalism, communication, and apology. A simple explanation or acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.
