Solid mexican restaurant! Got the Al pastor tacos and the torta. Skip the torta kinda skimpy for $15, but the taco's were really really good. They have a self serve salsa bar, the waitress was really nice, and it's byob! Discovered this spot at the 2025 Asbury Park Restaurant Tour and had to come back because the birria taco I tried was so delicious! Ambiance: - plenty of seating - plenty of natural lighting - got quite warm inside because there seemed to be weak AC Service: - Staff was friendly. - mix of sit down and order/pay at the counter - food is made to order so it took about 10 min for us to receive our food after ordering Food - birria nachos: large portion! Perfect for sharing for a group or split between 2 people. Came with the perfect ratio of melted cheese, sour cream, birria beef, guac and crispy chips. I've passed by here 1 million times and never have been inside. What a better day to go check it out then on Cinco de Mayo. The ambience was a little bit more elevated than I expected. The place was definitely crowded, I wasn't surprised. The ordering process was a bit confusing. They were people standing online so we waited behind them. 15 minutes later we realized they didn't move, they were waiting for their food they already ordered. We went on another line and made our way towards the register. We told her that we're going to eat inside so she just told us to take a seat at the table and that someone would be with us. A good 10 to 15 minutes later and no one came over to us. I went up to one of the ladies that I saw walking around and she said that though woman at the register told us the wrong thing. Definitely disorganized and slightly chaotic and a lot of waiting. They seemed short staffed though so we were fine. Since I had never been here before, I wanted to try a few things because I didn't know what I would like. I got the single Pollo taco which was nice and simple, taco de costra with chicken which I liked, the queso birria with chicken, but unfortunately they didn't give me chicken, I think it was pork and it was so greasy. I appreciate that they didn't give onions when I asked if that was possible. Definitely would come back and try some other things. Hopefully it will be a little more organized. read more

These are excellent tacos. They roast 3 different meats on spits, al pastor, sirloin, and a beef/onion combo, and all are superb. They also have an amazing salsa bar, and do a bunch of fresh juices, like mango and hibiscus. And they are open late night on the weekends. A great spot for lunch or a 3 am, on the way home from the bar kind of meal. read more

Best place for a late night snack in Asbury! Tacos were $5 each or four tacos for $18 late at night. I went again but during regular hours and they had another menu out with different prices. You order at the counter and the food comes out to your table. There is plenty of tables and the food comes out pretty quickly. There's about six different salsas available. A chipotle style, salsa verde, tomato salsa, an avocado based one, and two spicier ones. I enjoyed my tacos both times but they are a bit dry - good thing they have so many salsa options! read more

Surprisingly solid steak burrito with authentic flavors. The included pepper elevates it. My main knock against Tic Taco Taqueria is that late night prices increase by about 20% simply because they can. This pushes me to want to go to MOGO instead, which does the opposite and offers double reward points later at night. The late night ambiance was somehow even more rowdy than other places I've been. I did like how the service brought over different types of hot salsa. The burritos are satisfying and more or less loaded. They could take a few pages out of MOGO's book if they want to be late-night competitive. read more

OK. So the language barrier was wider than the Rio Grande. When ordering, you must be specific about soft- or hard-shell tacos. I walked a mile-and-a-half from the Inn I am residing at, only to discover when I got back that they did not include my tacos, because they weren't sure to use hard shell or soft, even though I explained 1,000 times at the counter, EVEN POINTING TO THE PICTURE ON THE MENU, what I wanted. If you can't communicate, and clearly have people at the counter who don't understand English, please, do yourself a favor and don't run a business! On the plus side, they did rush someone over to deliver the order. read more

I've found myself and my family passing by this spot twice a week for the past few months so we finally decided to try it. I didn't read any reviews or look at the online menu beforehand. From the outside it looks like a fancier version of a chain taco place. You order and pay at a counter, like a chain restaurant, then you sit anywhere and they'll bring you the food on a tray to your table. My kids and husband all ordered what they wanted but I have to admit that I was sticker shocked with the prices...$17 for 3 tacos and no rice or beans was served with it. So when it was my turn to order, I ordered the cheapest thing and didn't bother to order a drink. The cheapest thing is a Sombrero for $8 which I ordered vegetarian because I do not eat meat. Well, vegetarian means that this was like a grilled cheese with a tortilla. This place has nothing for vegetarians. I left starving and literally stopped at Wawa on my way home so I could eat. The wait time was 25 minutes and I thought that was unreasonable for the quality. My food tasted like it sounds. My family liked their food and did take their leftovers to go. They may go back, but I won't. My husband paid $78 at the front counter before we sat down. This was for 2 taco plates, loaded nachos, and me to starve. By the way, the menu online and what the menu really is in person is different. For a fast food looking place, the prices are steep, medium quality, little choice, and no vegetables exist in this place for vegetarians. Taco Bell next time! read more
