The salsa and juice bar slaps! Multiple spits of meat is a privilege! The meats are phenomenal, the decorations fun, and the tacos are unmatched. Great people serving great food.

These are excellent tacos. They roast 3 different meats on spits, al pastor, sirloin, and a beef/onion combo, and all are superb. They also have an amazing salsa bar, and do a bunch of fresh juices, like mango and hibiscus. And they are open late night on the weekends. A great spot for lunch or a 3 am, on the way home from the bar kind of meal.

Best place for a late night snack in Asbury! Tacos were $5 each or four tacos for $18 late at night. I went again but during regular hours and they had another menu out with different prices. You order at the counter and the food comes out to your table. There is plenty of tables and the food comes out pretty quickly. There's about six different salsas available. A chipotle style, salsa verde, tomato salsa, an avocado based one, and two spicier ones. I enjoyed my tacos both times but they are a bit dry - good thing they have so many salsa options!

Surprisingly solid steak burrito with authentic flavors. The included pepper elevates it. My main knock against Tic Taco Taqueria is that late night prices increase by about 20% simply because they can. This pushes me to want to go to MOGO instead, which does the opposite and offers double reward points later at night. The late night ambiance was somehow even more rowdy than other places I've been. I did like how the service brought over different types of hot salsa. The burritos are satisfying and more or less loaded. They could take a few pages out of MOGO's book if they want to be late-night competitive.

Watching this team work was like watching a group of artists in their studio. There's a rhythm to the kitchen, with everyone moving with purpose, communicating almost effortlessly, plating beautiful food, and somehow making the whole thing look calm and seamless. At one point I realized it was basically like getting to experience The Bear in real life, just without the dysfunction, screaming, and emotional trauma. All of the precision, intensity, and choreography of a serious kitchen, but with a team that genuinely seemed to enjoy working together. Even better, we were able to chat with the chefs throughout the meal. They were warm, engaging, and clearly passionate about what they're doing. That interaction made an already great dinner feel genuinely special. And then there's the food. Some of the best Mexican fare I've had. The watermelon margarita was fantastic, bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The carnitas were the standout savory dish for me. Incredibly flavorful and tender, and exactly the kind of thing you keep thinking about after the meal is over. Dessert absolutely deserves a mention too. The horchata ice cream with warm cookies was phenomenal and the perfect ending to the meal. Do not skip it. Barrio Costero manages to deliver seriously accomplished food without ever feeling stuffy or overly precious. Sitting at the counter and seeing the care, technique, and teamwork behind every plate gave me an entirely new appreciation for what this kitchen is doing even treating us to an appetizer on the house. Exceptional food, exceptional team, and one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had in Asbury Park. I'll absolutely be back, and next time I'm heading straight for the chef's counter.

Combined with the warm hospitality and attention to detail, it made for a perfect anniversary celebration. We are so grateful for the experience and can't wait to return!
