The staff here are the most friendly I have ever encountered. The food is great and the coffee drinks are as well. This should be everyones go to in Encinitas.

My wife and I stopped by here for a cappucino and we thought it was a great, indulgent cup of a coffee and a delightful place to drink it. The woman behind the counter who served us was very warm and friendly. When I started to hunt for the wifi password one of the guests kindly told me what it was and where to find it --- so a really nice vibe in the cafe. The decor was standout: one wall painted with flying seagulls. Just what you need from a cafe: a nice respite from the outside world. Their food looked great too --- maybe on the next visit I'll give it a try.

Great coffee, food, and chill vibe. The service was fast, but there was a long line waiting to order. We had a delicious egg and cheese bagel and chocolate croissant. The sauce on the bagel was a little spicy, but so delicious! We will definitely be back soon!

Da kine açaí bowl ... very disappointing

The bowl wasn't filled and I went based on the photo on yelp. Totally disappointed. I've gone to other locations before and was very happy but I wanted to try this place if your going to get a ti go order don't it's not worth it

Let me start by saying...any place that allows dogs inside, welcomes then and HAS A water bowl for the furry cuties, say NO MORE. You can have our money. We immediately were drawn in. Carlos was so friendly! He filled up the water bowl for Pumba and he was hydrated while we enjoyed our breakfast..which was oh so delicious. The Java Hut was POPPIN on a Sunday. Can't speak on parking, because we parked far and walked, get those steps in girl but it is on a busy street in the cute beach town of Encinitas. Love that because you grab yourself a bite to eat. Enjoy the cute ambiance and sit inside OR go take a scenic walk. I did both. The menu is simple, has all the good breakfast tingz. $10 will get you a basic breakfast place. The eggs were delish and the bacon was that real thick cut bacon. Beautiful location and we would definitely be back!

I got an iced coffee with vanilla, could not taste any of the vanilla. But I also got the local's sandwich and the breakfast burrito and they were so delicious. My sandwich, on croissant, had tomato and avocado with egg and bacon. The shop was small and service was quick. Definitely recommend stopping in for a quick bite.

A cute place to stop to sit and enjoy some coffee. Wouldn't recommend ordering food if you're in a hurry. A take out order for a bagel and a smoothie took 25+ minutes to be ready. The coffee au lait part of the order was prepared right after we paid which was nice to have while we waited. The everything bagel + cream cheese was standard, and from a New Yorker's perspective, light-handed with the cream cheese. Overall a nice place to sit with a coffee and company. Not the place to go if you're in a hurry to grab and go with something quick.

This beautiful location is right across from Hansen Surfboards. The inside is small, but very welcoming. The staff are great too and offered a few suggestions for us to try. We ended up having the poppyseed scone, the chai bomb and the Cardiff kook. Everything was delicious and so full of flavor, and our order came out really quick! While the prices are little bit higher the service is really worth it. This location unfortunately doesn't offer a discount for first responders, veterans, or active duty military.

Surely they are masters at greasy bacon and eggs, day old coffee, and probably little else. Wrong. Very wrong. This place may look a little ordinary from the outside but there is nothing ordinary about it. It may look like a classic diner inside but it does not sling food like an old diner. The menu is well-written and the food is high quality, excellent, and borderline gourmet. Do not order eggs, bacon, and toast here. Swing for the cheap seats. We tried the Ham, Avocado and Tomato Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic. If I didn't care about remaining somewhere under 350 pounds, I would return every Saturday and eat my way through every single eggs benedict concoction on the menu and there are many such benedict creations from which to choose. The Banana Nutella crepe, with "whip" cream (not "whipped," apparently, we're gentle with our cream here, folks), was decadent. If you like your breakfasts on the sweet side, you will enjoy this one. The Tres Porkitos omelet (made with ham, bacon, sausage, and cheese) was hearty and just as good as it sounds. The breakfast potatoes were very nicely done but could have used a little more seasoning. There is a salt shaker (and numerous hot sauces) on the table for just these types of emergencies. Do NOT leave here without getting a freshly-made biscuit with butter and honey on the side. You have made a serious error in judgment if you leave without getting one of these. Even the freshly-squeezed orange juice was delicious. Our server was wonderful. No complaints. They have dining inside or on the patio. Encinitas is a delightful community. While I loved the old school diner feel inside, you cannot go wrong with the people watching outside on one of our almost always sunny days in So Cal. If you live here, you already pay the Sunshine Tax so get your money's worth and sit outside, if you can. 10 stars.

Food took about 30 minutes, kind of a long time but we got to see what everyone else was ordering as it came from the kitchen and chit chat. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy, English muffin and potatoes with tomatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese. They messed up on my husbands order and put the gravy on the chicken fried steak when he wanted it on the side and forgot his green onions...but he said it was still good. I can attest to that. Food was good. Was craving potatoes with cheese on top so this hit the spot. Gravy was good with the English muffin...Super filling. Glad I had cash on me but looks like they take Venmo also. My major complaint is the bathroom. The toilet seat was up and it was super gross and the toilet needs some attention and cleaning. Kinda ruined my appetite, good thing I already ate. My husband warned me, too lol...

It's tough to get a table for a weekend noon. I booked our reservation a few weeks ahead of time. Parking is either near the train tracks across the street or on the curb. We got the egg dish and salad bowl. The yogurt for the eggs was deliciously spiced; dipping in the toasted bread into the gooey poached egg, creamy yogurt, and herbs was delicious! My issue with this dish were the herbs that were too large. Was I expected to stick a big piece of herb on my toast? The dish is saucy with the chili oil so my clothes were dirty with the oil covered herbs. Chop the herbs smaller for practicality! Another dish suffered from the execution. We got the bowl which I thought was going to be a grain bowl. Rather, it was a ridiculously-sized salad--as much leaves as a pack from the grocery store! There were toppings within like slices of avocado, pieces of orange, farro, and nuts. I felt like I was trying to treasure hunt to look for these pieces. The salad was comically oversized. It was dressed fine but suffered from the portion size. You could see this theme with the French toast too where you get 1/3 of a baked bread. I'm honestly confused by this chef who has amazing experience. Why do you construct dishes that are difficult and impractical to eat? Less is more. These dishes need extensive edits. How this place got Bib Gourmand is honestly surprising to me.
