First time getting a sandwich here! I'm a very simple girl, I like a BLT. The young gentleman that just made my sandwich on 7/14 around 2pm, he was so kind & didn't make me feel dumb for asking if I could have it warmed with melted cheese or which roll I should get it on. So thank you, best BLT i've ever had. Close to the beach so if I ever go to Gansett Beach I will come get a sandwich here. If I had more time, I would've sat inside. Excellent sandwiches, friends service, and a location a stone's throw away from Narragansett Beach. Surfside deli is a great spot to grab lunch or coffee if you're heading to the beach, or just working around the area. This is one of those sandwich shops with the bread that's fluffy on the inside and lightly crunchy on the outside. Semolina on the bottom. They have a wide selection of meats and fillings and they wrap the sandwiches up in lined foil, secured with a piece of masking tape. Even in the bleak midwinter, peeling the tape away and unwrapping lunch evokes feelings of long summer days in the breezy sea air. Lunch from here is always a treat! Personally, I'm partial to the Gaililee-- it comes with chicken cutlet, pesto, mozz, and roasted red peppers on a bulkie roll-- though all of the items I've tasted have been good. The sandwich bread sub was stale, way overpriced, peace teas are 3 dollars plus tax, 20 plus dollars for an extremely mediocre lunch. When I mentioned the price was high the lady at the counter made an eye roll funny face to her co-worker adding rude to an already abysmal experience. An insult to injury if you will. Pickings are slim next to Narragansett beach, hit the food truck if you need a quick bite. read more

Visiting in the area and we had breakfast and lunch here. Everything was excellent! Amazing breakfast sandwiches. For lunch, i had a chicken cutlet sandwich and my husband had roast turkey. The bread on every sandwich is delicious. A great array of sides and drinks. 10/10 recommend. read more

This place has been a consistent disappointment. I believe the only reason they get business is because of their location. They are always very slow and the sandwiches are just average. Last time I went, I ordered the eggplant parm sandwich online. I got to the restaurant and waited for about 20 minutes for them to out the bag on the pick-up shelf. After a while I went and asked. The woman looked to her right where the bag with the rest of my sandwiches was, she said it was done but they were out of eggplant. Obviously I'm not mad that they didn't have it, but all the sandwiches were just sitting there while I was waiting, and they didn't even try to contact me at all, they were just waiting for me to come up and ask about it. This place has potential, especially given their location, but since they opened, I have never had an amazing experience. read more

Food is still great, but I came here recently and became concerned when I saw they were preparing sandwiches with no gloves on. I saw one person in particular prepare a meatball sub. He burned his finger on the hot meatballs and stuck his finger in his mouth to cool it, then continued to make the sandwich with his bare hands, including the finger he had just had in his mouth. I just cannot bring myself to come back here, knowing they don't "glove up" when preparing sandwiches. read more

I can't say enough about Surfside! We were just passing through town and needed to a quick lunch, but I wasn't expecting anything special given the location (it's in a touristy spot and would probably do well even with not-great food). We were so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! And the people are so nice!! The owner explained that the turkey is roasted in-house and sliced to order. The ham wasn't the typical deli cold cuts, either! And the bread was amazing! We ended up staying to enjoy the sandwiches since food made with care should be enjoyed, rather than scarfed in the car! We grabbed muffins (homemade) which were also delicious! Worth a return trip from us, for sure! read more

In no world should my 3 ingredient wrap take 45 minutes. I waited in line for 20 minutes, and then another 30 for a wrap. I understand they were short staffed as the woman behind the counter kept saying, but in the start of beach season, you need more than 2 employees. The boy behind the counter seemed extremely puzzled by what was even in each wrap, causing even a further delay in service. I am usually very pleased by this place, but today turned me off. They were also completely out of chicken by the time I exited (47 minutes to be precise) which is wild for a deli. read more

We had a couple of fine sandwiches today for lunch: I made my own up with prosciutto, ham, provolone, banana peppers, roasted peppers, lettuce, tomato and pickles. Served on choice of hard or soft sub roll, my choice was a soft roll and it was really yummy! Hubbies choice was a turkey and ham on marble rye with horseradish & Dijon mustard. $12 each--well worth the price. Both of us are too stuffed for dinner! They have some good breakfast sandwiches too and lots of vegetarian choices. This is in the location where Picnic Basket used to be close to Narragansett Town Beach. read more

Love Surftside Deli. Worst service and the food is terrible but the atmosphere is also unpleasant.

I had the best bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich of my life at this great deli. The beach themed colors, breakfast bar and cozy nook made me want to spend all morning there. The new owners are fantastic and have worked hard to make this a perfect place to enjoy a delicious sandwich or cup of homemade soup. The chicken cutlets looked amazing. The service was extremely friendly and quick. We can't wait to return! read more

Finally decided to try them out for a beach lunch. Unfortunately, I can not recommend. I ordered a Pt Judith which (according to the menu) is made with arugula, which I love and was one of the reasons for my order. I got iceberg lettuce, by the time I unwrapped I was already nice and relaxed on the beach, so I wasn't going back. The sourdough bread was not fresh, which is my chief requirement for great sandwich and something the Picnic basket excelled at. Finally, a sandwich not made the way it was supposed to be made, set me back $14. I'll stick with Gansett Wraps. read more
