I recently visited The Corner Deli under its new ownership and was pleased to see that the wait times have improved. However, I was shocked to find that the prices have almost doubled. I paid $16 for a chicken salad wrap with lettuce and tomato. The wrap was about 8 inches long--standard size and delicious--but way overpriced. The old Corner Deli charged about $9 for the exact same wrap. My daughter paid $10 for an acia bowl that was watery. I'm not sure if they forgot ingredients or if it was terribly made. Total rip off. My recommendation to the new owners: cut the prices a little so people don't feel like they just left a casino in the negative! Also, bring back the kid sandwiches for $3.50. This will make old customers happy and encourage new customers to return. I will not be back until some changes are made. My new go-to deli is Rippy's Market Place, about 5 minutes away, on 4158 S. County Trail. The food there is deliciously homemade with quality meats, bigger portions, and for a third of the price. read more

Ordered a pastrami sandwich, they serve it cold! That is a sandwich crime. I have to ask for it to be hot/they didn't offer? Seating is terrible. Take your cold sandwich and get out. The prices are pretty high, some very mediocre to outright bad food. grilled chicken sandwich: inedible, pressed chicken with fake grill marks on it, wet, cold and squishy meat. employee admitted it wasn't grilled chicken. $11 grilled chicken Caesar wrap: same fake, non grilled chicken, also had croutons in the wrap which was weird but I could have been ok with that except for the gross fake chicken, $11 summer turkey wrap: wet pressed turkey not even the worst part, had sooooo much sliced onions and no discernible cucumber even though it's supposed to be red onion and cucumber with turkey. not red onion, but waaaay too much yellow onion which is a very different taste and little slivers of cucumber. it was like eating an onion wrap. was inedible . $11 dollars. egg salad sandwich: was fine. according to employee it's premade/purchased. eggs and lots of mayo. fine for $11 read more

It gives me no pleasure to write this review. I was a big fan of this place under the old ownership, with their NY style deli sandwiches. I didn't realize it changed ownership but it was obvious by the remodel inside. The first thing I noticed was there were no meats in the deli case anymore. That should've served as a warning. We ordered two grilled chicken sandwiches and were surprised when we got down to the beach to find we had sandwiches with two hunks of disgusting processed chicken product. It was gross, discolored and odd tasting. The mayo also had a strange flavor as well. You know it's bad when the seagulls won't even touch it. I was nauseous all day thinking about this sandwich. Went here with my wife on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30 for a sandwich. We were both already fans of the Corner Deli and the former owner. His sandwiches were delicious, brimming high with quality cold cuts great cheeses, our only complaint would have been it could get busy and you needed to accept the wait times. New place looks great. Nice remodel. The wait times are the same or worse. I understand that you've got online and phone orders that need to be filled but when a customer walks in and orders one single sandwich maybe prioritize them a little rather than have them wait while you make 50x other sandwiches for customers who are not standing there waiting. That being said at least if the sandwich was great i wouldn't care. It wasn't. It was horrible. My favorite sandwich, the roast beef with blue cheese was gone as was my favorite bread the french bread, and my wife's favorite the smoked salmon with gruyère cheese. So we ordered the Summer Sandwich on baguette. Got home and it was on white bread. The driest white bread I've ever eaten it my life. It made my wife cough it was so dry. Hardly any turkey and barely any garlic aioli dressing to at least help with the dryness. It may have been the worst sandwich anyone has ever made us in our lives. read more

Ok, so they are not the fastest sandwich makers around and the place is bonkers most days but the sandwich, on the beach, in the end... is totally worth it. Call your order in ahead of time, give it like 30 min, then give it another 15 just to be safe and then head on over. They have a system in place where your name will be called out over a loudspeaker when you are invited in to pay and get your order. The italian is no joke. First, as soon as you walk into the deli, you are taken aback by the clean and welcoming atmosphere of the incredible remodel the new owners did before opening. I have visited multiple times, and, each time, my food has been consistently delicious. As someone with a gluten allergy, I am always hesitant to order food out, but The Corner Deli makes it very clear that they are aware of how to safely serve people with allergies. I can't remember the last time I had such a delicious gluten-free wrap! With so many options, on my most recent visit, I ended up ordering a smoothie to enjoy in the morning and saved a wrap for lunch later in the day. If you haven't visited The Corner Deli yet this summer, you definitely need to add it to your summer bucket list! Reason I am giving one star are 1. Very slow to get order which was one chicken penini sandwich. There were four people making food and ine cashier and one for running around with supplies and papers looks like manager. But getting a sandwich took like 30 min.... 2. No bathroom for patrons. When I asked cashier wants brush me off with trying to avoiding the answer of using bath room. I live right around the corner from the Corner Deli, and I have eaten here a handful of times. For the most part, everything has been pretty great. The food is always fresh and the staff is generally always friendly, which I'm sure can be tough given the humungous increase in volume during the summer months. Their specials are pretty unique-- today was a smoked salmon grinder of sorts, with Brie and other items. I didn't get it but a few gentlemen did and it sure looked tasty! I've gotten turkey sandwiches, chicken paninis, and lobster rolls in the past, all which have been fresh and around the $7 mark without chips or drink (minus the lobster roll, that was almost $17), which in my opinion makes it slightly expensive. However, you're paying for convenience foremost, on top of freshness. There is really no other sandwich shop around Charlestown Beach. Today I got the veggie panini and it was fresh and good tasting too. I do wish it was heated enough to melt my mozzeralla cheese completely and to fully cook my veggies, which I ended up doing at home in my toaster oven. Also, I think most preparers should know not to put liquid-dense vegetables on the bottom of a sandwich, such as tomatoes, because they make the bread soggy. This happened to me and the bottom of my sandwich gave out, which sucked. :( It was really great tasting though. I also got the tortellini pasta salad, which for $4 a pound wasn't a bad price for how tasty it was. I got a 1/2 pound and really enjoyed the caper and oil taste. We stopped in today after hitting the beach for a few hours at Matunuck. A couple of sandwiches really sounded good to go with our drinks we had waiting for us in the truck. Service was fast and friendly plus the selection was varied and interesting. We opted for the roast beef on baguette and pastrami on baguette (what can I say? my hubby is a rebel! lol). Roast beef was perfectly done - lean and pink. Baguette was good if not the best. But the composition of the sandwich was a bit off. Lots of beef (yay!), sliced onion and blue cheese sauce. It needed some zip - pickles, mustard, something. But it was a generous portion and the quality of the products was very good. The pastrami on the non-traditional roll was also good. We didn't get any sides or desserts but the prices were good and everything looked yummy (the key lime torte especially was hard to pass up!). Great place for a bite to eat! read more

Great deli with friendly and prompt staff. Even on a busy day, when they were down a staff member, they were lovely. The deli meat was fresh and I loved the New England sides (Cape Cod chips and Nantucket Nectar teas and juices). The place was packed after we arrived, which is always a good sign to me. So disappointed with my stop here on the way to the beach on 8/10/20. I usually stop here for sandwiches to-go every summer. Due to COVID this was my first time this year that I've stopped by. I've always loved their top quality grinders made with Boars Head meats. I ordered the roast beef which I constantly order (maybe #13?) Sandwich is supposed to be roast beef, blue cheese & red onion. I asked for a grinder roll or baguette. I received a white bread sandwich. There was approximately 3 slices of roast beef. No kidding. Blue cheese was terrible & red onion had no taste. All this for almost $9.00? Rip off big time. Son ordered an Italian and it was so-so. Better option is to stop by Subway than this place. Won't ever be going back and it's a shame. I used to get a baguette with layers & layers of roast beef but they have gone down hill and fast. Don't go. You will be disappointed if you do. read more

4 people working, I was the only customer. Only one employee (the cashier) had their mask on! I placed my order and all 4 employees engaged in conversation with one another while I stood there waiting for quite some time. I almost asked for my money back so I could leave. We happened upon this gem of a place while looking for some cheese to serve as appetizers before dinner. The owner was cleaning up and yet welcomed us as if we were long lost friends. Love The Corner Deli! This is such a great spot to stop by on the way back from the beach. The sandwiches are delicious and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. There's fresh bread all the time and the ingredients always taste fresh. We enjoy coming here and hitting up the ice cream shop and the beachcomber store.
