I paid Coast Dental - Deltona, FL $702 more than I actually owed, and more than 1 1/2 year later…read morethey still refuse to return a single dollar. Office Manager Crystal Perez gave only vague, circular, non-answers. It was almost as if she was offended that I discovered that I was overcharged. I had to take my complaint to the BBB and communicated with an unknown person representing Coast Dental and when I asked--five times--for an explanation of the overcharge. Each request was met without an answer and ignored! The office also mismanaged my insurance claim for a crown: twice they assured me it had been submitted, but I ultimately had to file the paperwork myself. The "completed" claim form that was emailed to me 10 months later listed just one procedure code; a later email, December 11, 2024, tacked on two more. When I pursued the refund, Crystal Perez, again, said Corporate had to approve it, while Corporate told me the local office was responsible. Meanwhile, I'm still receiving calls and texts urging me to schedule another appointment. Bottom line: Coast Dental Deltona, FL shows poor communication; zero accountability and I can only NOT recommend them in the strongest terms! You deserve and have earned less than one star!

My ears hurt headaches. My blood pressure is gone up. I've been nauseous this past weekend and all they wanted me to do is have a root canal when I specifically requested to have the tooth polled before it got infected. they said it needed a root canal and now they tell me that it has too long and have to have surgery to have it removed because it's been too long and they can't pull it now. Months have gone by because they been pushing me along billing the insurance company and not doing what I requested from day one. DO NOT GO WITH THIS DENTAL COMPANY.!

I arrived at this office and waited 10 minutes alone in the lobby with nobody anywhere to be seen. Finally someone came and gave me paperwork to fill out and I was called back. I was told I needed a set of x-rays and a cleaning and then presented with the cost. I told the person my visit should be 100% covered, why am I being charged? She said it was for a cancer screening. I told her I did not want the cancer screening so that charge was removed. This happened again later in the visit with a medicated rinse- I was told there would be a charge of $44 for this rinse. I had to then deny that service. The problem I have is these costs were not presented to me as options. Had I not known better, I'd have paid over $100 for services I did not want. It felt like they were trying to slip services in without my knowledge in order to charge me for them. Incidentally, I ended up being charged $75 for x-rays because it had been less than a year since my last x-rays in another state. This is of course on me, but I will say every other dentist I've ever been to has verified this information before and proceeded in a way that prevented me from having to pay out-of-pocket. I will say the staff was very friendly and my teeth looked great afterward. The office is pretty old and outdated, though.

I came in around a year ago and had a great experience. The doctor was very intelligent and…read moreexplained everything very well. He answered any question that I could come up with (that's a lot) with ease. I was so happy to have found a dentist that I really like, for the first time that I can remember... but that's where the horror started. I kept getting notices that I owed them money. There was no reason that I should have. I left them fly, figuring insurance was taking a while to pay. I called a couple of times, believe I was promised calls back and that they'd take care of it, but they never did. So I waited until just before our next appointment (my girlfriend was not on my dental plan - I took her, essentially referring another customer, remembering the initial experience). I called them at least a week before, after calling through to my insurance company and back and forth to get things figured out - you know, the work that THEY should be doing, not me. So I gave them all of the info, and they said it was fine. Also, my dental coverage changed (still same workplace and insurance company, but new plan). I gave them that information and told them to make sure that I'd be covered and that I didn't want the same problem with getting bills for six months. They ensured me everything would be fine. But that was BULLSHIT. Sorry to curse, but it's true. We both went in. I had a cleaning, and my girlfriend had X-rays, concerned about something that she was told she had a few years ago (cavities), but they had magically disappeared. Sounds like Coast Dental is a scam and needs a lashing from me as well (they're next). I believe she also had a cleaning... that's what the bills tell me. I had given them two stars, but thinking about this just gets my blood boiling. No matter how good they are, a business shouldn't do this to a person... So before I knew there was going to be another problem, they scheduled us for January. I came in, knowing there would be a problem and not intending to have my appointment. I saw there sheet, and they apparently didn't have me on the list anyway (I left a VM for them about the situation on Friday when they were closed, maybe they did get it, or just took me off as a payment issue)? Either way, there was no communication about that. So I told them what was up. I told them about my prior experience which they were familiar with (it was the same person who I spoke with on multiple times, and also had left angry voice messages for way in the past with the first incident). I told her that it was their job to check my insurance, and I was assured there would be no problem. If they weren't going to check, they could have told me, and I would have done so. They said that their policy is that they take no insurance, they're on no lists, etc. What BS. If they told me that before, I would have done my homework and made sure it'd be taken care of on the new policy. That morning, I explained that I had a great experience the first time, and that I was willing to come back when my insurance changed, but otherwise, I would never come back. EVER. She seemed like she wanted to fix the issue and took my number and stated she'd talk to the doctor about the bill and guaranteed a call that day. I never got one. And I know she had my correct number because I saw her write it, and also they have it on file. That's not the first time I've been promised a callback and not gotten one. So if you're paying cash (who does), they're probably great. Otherwise, good luck. Do your homework and be prepared to get some bills. I wouldn't be happy, but maybe OK with paying a portion of the bill, but I think that they should really think about customer satisfaction, and things like the fact that I'm going to post a scathing review and take care of it altogether. I talk to people. The person who referred me will hear about this when she has a toothache. Along with anyone else in the vicinity who might go there. I'll try and update if they fix this problem. They really have promise to be a nice business if they get their stuff together. EDIT: Udpdate - they never called me back, but I did receive a bill for $14 and (relatively) happily paid it. Haven't gotten any bills since, and it's been at least a month. I'll give em an extra star. They'd be a solid 3 or 4 if it wasn't for all of this...
