Easter Sunday 2021, I was the only client. Reception was so kind and courteous she deserves a raise. If you have floated 0-100 times this is by far my favorite. Tanks are the the largest Ive found. Showers and tanks are always clean and previous guests hair is NEVER seen floating; an absolute must in this business! I consider myself a veteran floater. 90 min is my sweet spot. I know this because the staff can probably hear me comfortably snoring in my tank! My float experience was so good that I left behind the aching lumbar, twitching sciatic, tense work-neck and all my cares and worries. I found out about floating last year, right here on yelp. It was a new concept to me at the time, but I quickly learned it has been around for quite awhile. I am dedicated to my traditional deep tissue massages, but the idea of "floating" appealed to me as well, as I am a pisces who loves the water and finding new ways of relaxing. Had to at least check it out and decide for myself. Groupon had a deal for a one hour float (living social has one now as well), plus a 20% off, offer so it was the perfect time to buy it. I figured if I hated it, I would only be out $48 that I spent. They have easy online booking, however with the groupon, I had to call to schedule, otherwise you are expected to pay via credit card on their site. I spoke to Rosie, who was friendly and quickly took my name and info and scheduled me for a few days later. She told me she would be there for my appointment (first one of the day) and to arrive a few minutes before they opened so I could do paperwork and learn the basics before I got started. Fast forward a few days later, I arrived 15 minutes early and filled out a quick one page form and got a quick overview of how everything works before getting started. I did my own research on floating prior to even buying the groupon so I felt well equipped. I highly recommend any first timers do the same, you tube has tons of videos on floating. They have 2 float rooms, one is a combo massage therapy room and the other is smaller float room, Both have a large walk in shower, body wash/shampoo/conditioner, a changing area, towel, etc, I showered before entering as required and put in the provided wax earplugs. It took me a bit to get acclimated...I was distracted. Thought about day to day stuff. Then my stomach growled. Then my toes cracked. My muscles twitched. I floated near the wall and felt the edge of the tub at least twice. I couldn't get comfortable with my arms down by my sides. I had used the provided foam head pillow but found it put pressure on my upper back (I already have pain there) so I eventually removed it and moved my arms around until I found the most comfortable position (above my head). Then I was finally in my happy place. The water has so much epsom salt you literally float on top of the water, it is super buoyant. Once I relaxed the water was so still I couldn't tell where my body met the waters edge. It really felt like I was floating in the clouds, in space, etc. I definitely zoned out after finding that happy place where I could relax...so next time I think the 60 minutes will be used much more efficiently. I felt quite spacey afterwards so I sat for a bit and had a cup of complimentary tea. Definitely recommend leaving yourself extra time to sit for a few, to regain your composure before driving off. Bottom line is, this isn't for everyone, but if you are looking for a new way to clear your head and completely zone out, I highly recommend it as there are multiple emotional and physical benefits to floating. The Tank and Shower are always clean and ready when I am, thanks to the Friendly and Accommodating Staff. Very relaxing, Stress relieving. I now, doze off every time I float. I started floating a few months ago while on vacation in SC. I was hooked, I found Surrender To the Float online as one of only two places in CT. While I haven't been to iFloat, however Surrender is about $40 cheaper. I can float at Surrender for an hour and a half for $75. Which is a really great deal. They also have great packages for multiple floats. The staff is super nice and very helpful with any questions. Facilities are clean and the tanks are new. Floating has been one of the most rewarding things I've done for my mental and psyhical health. read more

Blew away my expectations. Unreal relaxation in the float tank - I came out feeling completely re-energized. The facilities are extremely clean. The tanks are comfortable, with ambient light and music to ease you into /out of your session. Afterwards you can enjoy a cup of tea. The people working here are super friendly as well- they'll go over all the basics of floating so you know exactly what to do. I visited Surrender to the Float for a Swedish massage and had a very pleasant experience. Overall, the place is very clean and nicely decorated. Today was my first time trying a float. My boyfriend bought m a gift card for my birthday that was supposed to be for a 60 minute massage and 60 minute float . When I arrived today the person at the front desk told me that there was only $5.00 left on the gift card. I told him that it couldn't be right because I had only used it for the massage. He checked my account and saw that I had never booked a massage. He then told me that they reuse gift cards so it was possible that somebody had the number written down and had used my balance by mistake. After calling my boyfriend and waiting for several minutes, the front desk attendant realized that he had made a mistake and that there was in fact enough money on the gift card and that I only owed balance of $5.00. After resolving that issue I was finally able to get on with the service . My appointment was scheduled for 2:00. I didn't get brought back to the float room until 2:20. The attendant did a good job of explaining the process which only took about 5 minutes. After taking a shower, you climb into the tank. The attendant told me that your float would begin with 10 minutes of music but that did not happen. You have the ability to control the lights of the ceiling and the floor which is nice if you don't feel comfortable being in complete darkness. Unfortunately, I was not able to relax when in the tank. I think this had more to do with me and was not necessarily because of the establishment. However, It is definitely not sound proof as I could here sirens going by while I was in middle of my session even with the provided ear plugs. You have to be extremely careful not to get salt in your eyes like I did because it burns ! I also felt intense itching at certain points during the float which apparently is normal for your first time. The attendant told me that music would come on five minutes before the float was ending to warn me that time was almost out. The music never came on so instead I woke up to the extremely noisy filtration system that comes on when the float is over. Although the place was clean and welcoming, I did not have a positive experience and I don't think I would do another float. read more

I had a great experience. Jeremy made me feel at home and explained the process of the float tank wonderfully. The space is tranquil, comfortable and inviting. The tank was exactly as I had hoped. Beautiful lighting and music usher you into the tank and can continue for the duration of your float if you desire. Or you can go with the complete sensory deprivation experience, which I would recommend. My body was able to attain a previously unknown level of relaxation, allowing my mind to truly meditate. Finally got a chance to float today. There are only a handful of float tanks in New England area so we have to appreciate the fact that there is one close by in Ct. Manager there was great. Awesome personality and went through all the steps very carefully before I began my float. As far as the float is concerned can't say enough and come up with the right words for the ultimate experience in deep relaxation and meditation. Have heard many stories about the deepness you can go in your mind and your body. Had a brief period of this today and I'm told the more you do it the deeper you go and for longer periods. that moment I'll never forget. Great place to go. This was a pretty good experience... We did the one hour float just to check it out for our first time. The guy working there actually allowed us to do an extra 20 minutes each. I found that the 60 minutes was actually perfect though and I started getting restless by the end. The facility is super clean, smells great, and they're very friendly. They supply really nice soaps and conditions in the showers, and you can have either hot tea or ice water after your float. :) read more

I had a package for a massage and a float that my husband gave me for Mother's day. The massage therapist was horrible! Her technique was novice at best. The floor squeaked and creaked, so did her shoes. She really shouldn't be practicing massage therapy. The float itself was interesting. When I was done and went out to the reception desk, I gave the woman my gift card. It wasn't working. She didn't know what to do. SO she called the owner. Apparently this happened with another gift card a few days prior. The owner told her to ask me to pay half of the services and if they could figure out the gift card issue they would refund me. I told the woman that I was not doing that because I know my husband paid. I called him and he told me that he came with our daughter and they gave them a tour and he purchased the gift card. HOWEVER, The day my husband was going to purchase the gift card, he called to ask them what time they'd be open so he could come by. The guy called him that day and told my husband that the credit card machine wasn't working and if he could bring cash, he would take $20 off the service. So my husband did. So I told all of this to the woman and she called her boss again. They were discussing the issue and the woman told me they were suspecting that people were stealing the blank gift cards off the counter and trying to pass them off as having money on them. She was pretty much accusing my husband of stealing a gift card, and accusing me of trying to redeem it with no money! I told her I wasn't paying anything again. SHe called her boss and told him and he said that "We'll let you go this time" as if I stole and they were giving me another chance! Needless to say, I will never go there again. They obviously have an employee stealing from them, or not doing the correct process for gift cards. But to accuse your customer of stealing is just insane! I also did not leave a tip for the massage therapist after all that. UGH! read more

The tanks are new and wonderful with twinkle lights and music, or if you wish, offer a totally sensory deprivation experience wrapping you warmly and safely inside. I'm told the experience deepens with time and more floating, and I believe it. For my first float I experimented with different body positions including Leonardo DA Vinci style even as time and space disappeared into minutes within an hour float time. You will find Jeremy Spang, the owner, has crafted a warm, charming and welcoming space with many other spiritually friendly activities and programs yet to come. He has launched a colorful and creative environment with attention to great detail beginning with the entrance door and doorknob. Clearly it can benefit persons with spiritual intentions as well as those interested in the gravity free environment to heal and relax in a very deep way.
