I signed up for a day-long excursion to Slide Mountain. For a reasonable fee: I was picked up & dropped off at a convenient location and provided with all the outdoor gear I needed for the trip, i.e. snowshoes, walking poles, microspikes and crampons. The group was small - 4 of us total - which made for a more chummy experience. I love the outdoors and grew up camping in the summertime- but wanted to whet my appetite for snow sports and outdoor winter activities. This is perfect for a fit, active person who likes the outdoors and wants to try different things out before committing to purchasing equipment. Having the proper gear prior to these excursions is crucial and owning it can become expensive. This is a happy medium where you can try things out before making the commitment. If you get a good group dynamic, you can end up with built-in hiking buds, which is a huge bonus :) I cannot recommend Gear To Go Outfitters enough for renting outdoor gear and especially for their guided trips. I think this will be the first of the many and have definitely opened up an entire world of outdoor winter activities for me!

Told me he had found out where I work and told me he will proceed to go to all of my company's Yelp pages and threatened to make up false ratings. 2. Called me names on the phone and refused to let me talk. 3. And actually, accused me of stealing stakes (that were never actually given to me) and ended up charging me MORE than the original rental. (which I will try to dispute) 4. Threatened to sue me for writing the yelp review... Told me that he is a lawyer and will sue me for everything. I've never had a business owner act so unprofessionally and in such an undignified manner. I would have gladly updated this review with a positive if he had approached this in a fair, polite manner. Instead, he insulted, threatened and even charged me more money because he had the ability to. He used the excuse of "damaged items" (btw, one of our tents came with a hole patched with scotch tape), and claimed we stole stakes from the tents. When I told him that we never received stakes, he flippantly told me "Well you signed the delivery papers, it's not my problem! Why don't you look around harder, check your car!" ... we had never received stakes. He then proceeded to charge me $163 for the "stolen" stakes. I am glad I had the thought to record the entire phone conversation. I only wish Yelp had an option to post the recording... There are many other places to rent your tents from, save yourself the time, money, and after-trip stress. They are thieves...

Mainly a mountain biker trail, though we were hiking it was still a friendly trail- as we just made sure to stand aside giving the right away- the trail has a good mix of terrain in terms of hills, water views, mini rock climbing, making it a hearty hike without being too challenging. It provided very beautiful views, and a lot of switchback trails to explore-making each hike possible to have a different experience. A very nice visit! Would be great to use as a jogging trail!

As soon as my husband and I walk in the door, we are greeted by Eugene and asked if we needed help. I stated boldly that I wanted to learn archery and had very little idea of where to start. He didnt try to upsell some big fancy expensive deal, he offered private lessons at $35 for 30min. I declined and said I wanted to get my own set and learn from there. "No problem," he said. He brought me up to the counter and did a dominant eye test and determined I was lefty, even though I'm mostly right-handed. He indulged me and let me try shooting from both sides and HE WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. I shot three arrows within inches of each other lefty, and spazzed out twice and hit the ceiling as righty. He coached me a little on saftey, stance, and technique. Also he didn't judge me for my pink hair or for picking out the pretty purple arrows with the red feathers. Long story short, he spent nearly an hour answering all of our annoying and endless questions and showed us how to use everything. We walked out very happy and we are headed out to an outdoor range right now on this beautiful day thanks to Eugene and Extreme Archery.
